Seabert's Guide to Seikyu - The Countryside (Part #4)

Okay Seabert, this is it…the last part of the guide. You gave it your all and the foxes are gonna be so impressed. They’ll say “Wow, Seabert, thank you so much! We feel ready to move to Seikyu now thanks to your awesome guide.” Then, maybe Mayor Oda will see that you’re ready for more responsibilities and she’ll eve- OH MY GOSH! I didn’t see you there…how much of that did you hear?! Uhh…h-here. This is p-part f-four of the guide…I-I have to go…sorry… ฅ՞•ﻌ•՞ฅ
Pearl Lake
Pearl Lake is a huuuge lake just outside of Seikyu village. Uncle Torleone says it’s full of fresh-water fish but that I’m not to go there without him since it’s out in the countryside and there’s a risk of running into s-scary yokai who wanna fight. Thankfully, Uncle Torleone was happy to go with me to take pictures. He even brought his fishing rod and caught us something for lunch! He said that you can find all sorts of treasure deep down at the bottom of the lake but you’d need to be a good swimmer and be able to hold your breath for a really long time to get to it. I wanted to hear some more, but a whole bunch of Slimes started to appear from under the water and Uncle Torleone said it was time to go.
Sakura Tree
For our next stop, Uncle Torleone said we should go somewhere real pretty. He said “There are lots of interesting and historical sights in Seikyu, but sometimes it’s nice to just relax in nature.” My uncle is pretty wise, but I didn’t know relaxing involved so much walking! We had to go all the way up to the top of a big hill to get this picture. Right at the top was a pretty cherry blossom tree and a cool statue of a frog. The hill overlooked the whole village and it made me feel really small but somehow also kinda big all at the same time? It was nice. On our way back down the hill we bumped into that girl with the big fluffy tail who’s always hanging around with Kababa. I guess she likes it up here too!
Bamboo Forest
Can I tell you a secret? I’ve always wanted to go to the Bamboo Forest, but I don’t get out of Seikyu village much. You’ll probably be able to visit it often, though, since it’s not too far from your new farmhouse! The Bamboo Forest is a cool and mysterious place, b-but I wouldn’t wanna visit it at night. There’s a rumour that you can hear a strange melody from the Bamboo forest carrying on the wind in the evenings and s-some people think it might be a g-ghost.
Hot Springs
We took a wrong turn on the way home and found this last place by accident! It turns out there are plans to open a hot springs in Seikyu in the future…how cool is that? We met a really pretty girl here who was telling us all about the healing properties of the water and she even showed us around, but she asked me not to take any pictures of the springs just yet. I guess they’re not ready. She did say we could take a picture in the reception area though, which was pretty nice. I can’t wait to come here when it opens, especially after a big fishing trip with Uncle Torleone. I bet it’s like sitting in a giant bathtub! The only problem is that I’m not sure how we’re gonna find the place again. We didn’t think to mark it down on our map…oops.

O-okay, that’s the last part of my guide! I hope you liked it and I’m glad I was able to finish it before you arrived. It’s not long now until I’ll be meeting you at the customs and registration office! D-don’t sneak up on me this time, okay?
Welcome back, Seikyuians!
We're now less than a week out from our launch into Early Access and we couldn't be more excited! It's been a super busy time for us, so let's take a look what's waiting just around the corner. ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡
😌Seabert's resting before the big day!
Not only is Seabert absolutely adorable (if we do say so ourselves!) but he's also taking some time to find his zen after providing you with some Seikyu Guides! We've been working on Seabert's yukata outfit and sorting any bugs, and we're very pleased with how it looks. What do you think of this Spa Ready ensemble?

Credit to our amazing artists who have captured these emotions beautifully.

We've started the low-poly modelling process for an Aardwolf-Chea. Aardwolves are very cute, nocturnal creatures with long sticky tongues! They're part of the Hyena family. This is a Kickstarter Backer specific pet that we wanted to share a sneak peek of... (⸝⸝> ω

What Are the System Requirements and Optimal Settings for Tales of Seikyu?

Hi there Seikyuans! We’re getting ever so close to our Early Access launch and we hope you’re just as excited as we are.

We want to make sure you’re equipped with as much information as possible ahead of our launch so you can join the Early Access journey at a time that suits you best! With that in mind, we’d like to provide a little insight into the minimum and recommended PC hardware requirements for running Tales of Seikyu at Early Access launch.

IMPORTANT: The system requirements detailed below are designed to provide a rough overview of what to expect with regard to gameplay quality at each tier. Please note that even PCs running the optimal specifications can still experience varying game performance due to a multitude of factors beyond the core components, including software, drivers, cooling efficiency, system RAM speeds, etc.
Minimum Specs
Minimum specs are provided to give a rough idea of how to run Tales of Seikyu at its most basic level. Players will be able to experience the magical world of Tales of Seikyu but should be aware that these are the minimum specs required to run the game. We would strongly recommend closing any background processes or applications that could put additional demands on your PC while you play. Players will most likely need to adjust the game’s graphic settings to Low within the game settings menu for a smoother experience.
What to Adjust for Better Performance?
As mentioned above, there are some slight adjustments you can make both in and out of the game that may help to improve performance. Within the game settings menu, you can make adjustments to graphics settings including settings for overall quality, shadows, and textures. Switching these to a lower level can improve the game’s performance.

Outside of the game, we’d advise you to ensure your graphics card drivers are up to date and to close any unnecessary applications and processes that could be consuming system resources on your PC before you play. Windows users have the option to enable Windows Game Mode, a feature designed to optimise the gaming experience by prioritising system resources for games. If you haven’t enabled game mode already, you can do so by navigating to Settings > Gaming > Game Mode, and toggling the switch to the ‘on’ position.
Further Optimisations Coming
We will be working on performance and graphics optimisations (amongst other things!) continually throughout Early Access to improve player experience with the game! We want to thank you once again as we work on bringing the wonderful world of Seikyu to life, and we can’t wait to hear what you think when we enter Early Access. ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡

What's Coming to Tales of Seikyu at Early Access?

Goodness, we’re excited about our Early Access launch! In case you missed our announcement, you’ll be pleased to know that Tales of Seikyu will launch in Steam Early Access on the 21st of May 2025. It’s not long now until you’ll be boarding the boat to Seikyu! \(0^◇^0)/

If you haven’t already gathered by now, we’re real big on sharing as much information with our community as possible! We want you to know what to expect at Early Access and what’s coming in updates throughout our Early Access journey and as we approach 1.0. We’ve been working very hard on bringing the magical world of Seikyu to life, and we can’t wait for you to see everything we’ve worked on so far. As a reminder, Tales of Seikyu will be launching in Early Access, which means we’re still working hard on making Tales of Seikyu the very best it can be based on your wonderful feedback. So, please let us know what you think! Now, without further ado, let’s take a look…

 • Puzzles: Rumour has it that there are spirits deep within the fox ruins who offer puzzles to only the most worthy of yokai.

 • Casino & Tavern: Help bring a little excitement to Seikyu by building new businesses for the community! We’ll be working on adding new features for community buildings such as these, so if there’s something you want to see, make sure to let us know.

 • 100+ Pieces of Furniture: Whether you prefer cute and cozy or a traditional Eastern aesthetic, there’s something for everyone.

 • Furniture & Clothing Customisation: Express yourself through your clothes and home! We’re also making a point of asking the community what they’d like to see in terms of new outfits and customisations over on our social media channels, so make sure to follow us on X and Bluesky to take part.

 • Boss Battles: Go head-to-head with the first two bosses. Let’s hope your combat training with Nyotengu pays off! We know there’s still work to be done on polishing the combat experience and we’d love your feedback on how this feels at Early Access so that we know what to improve on the road to 1.0.

 • Carp Festival: Seikyu’s spring festival, with fun activities and good vibes. We want to make the festivals of Seikyu truly magical, and we’d love your feedback on what else you’d like to see at these community events.

 • New Yokai Transformations: With their own unique abilities.

 • Romance: Even more romanceable NPCs and additional heart events.

 • Marriage: For when you’re ready to take things to the next level.

 • Customisations: Hair styles, hair colour, skin tones, and more!

 • Pets: Maybe now you’ll finally stop joking that Kon is your pet (she hates that, btw!).

 • Ranching: Raise cute animals on your farm. From cows to capybara!

 • Hotsprings: Visit Seikyu’s restorative hot springs and meet the mysterious girl who works there.

 • Festivals: Join the villagers for seasonal celebrations!

 • Boss Battles: As you uncover the secrets of Seikyu, you’ll encounter more powerful bosses. Keep your swords sharpened, adventurers!

 • New Outfits: What can we say? We’ve got a passion for fashion.

 • Bug Fixes & Optimisations: For a smoother Seikyu experience.

Developer Diaries #1 - Art, Rooms & Love
Hey Seikyuians!
We want to introduce you to a new regular series diaries from the Tales of Seikyu development team.

It’s been a busy week with lots of progress on our art, bug squashing, and finalising the designs for our villagers’ rooms, as well as implementing feedback and much more! Dive in to see what’s been happening the past week and what we plan to do next as we journey towards our Early Access Launch! ٩(◕‿◕)۶
🎨Art & Design
Our talented artists have been hard at work and they’ve completed Anna’s Normal, Shocked and Blush expression portraits. This daydreamer has a lot on her mind, so we do hope you’ll have a chat with her and become a friendly face she can rely on in the village.

Other art updates we’ve got to share this week include progress on Uozumi’s portrait expressions; we’re nearly there!

Furniture and rooms have also been given a lot of love as we have designed and created more of the cottages to reflect the wonderful personalities of the yokai that live there. Want to guess who lives in this wonderful space? It’s our wonderful Mika, she’s got great taste!
🐞Bug Squashing
As is to be expected when spring or summer makes its arrival, so do the bugs - and game development is no different! We’re hard at work swatting, squashing and shooing bugs away as we create a more polished experience in Seikyu. We’ve resolved 141 bugs in the last week and we’re focused on resolving more to enhance the gaming experience.
🌸 Sneak Peek
Many of you loved seeing our new male romanceable option revealed in our Next Fest Feedback update and we wanted to give you a further sneak peek into the creation.

He’s shaping up slowly but surely. ( ˘ ³˘)~♥

That’s it for our first Developer Diary. We are planning to do more of these in the future, so please stay tuned for more updates on our progress.

We also hope it’s a nice way to pass the time before Early Access Launch. 🌸

Before you go, we’d like to encourage you to wishlist our game (if you already have, you are amazing✨) as it’s one of the best ways to support Tales of Seikyu.

Also, give us a follow on any of these platforms for regular news, giveaways, updates and so much more: Discord, X, Bluesky, Instagram, TikTok, and Reddit.
