Update Notes for December 20

Heyhey Survivors! We heard your feedback clearly, so here´s a small hotfix to address some of the most significant issues. Thanks for the feedback!

  • Increased Character Movement Speed
  • Fixed a bug where enemy health in Stage 1 was using the Stage 2 modifier
  • Updated Spellbook readability by fixing Dash and Ultimate Skills to the top

Update Notes for December 19

* Rebalanced early game level-ups to provide Kagura's base ability upgrades earlier.
* Only Player-owned abilities are now highlighted in the spell book.
* Improved collision interactions between players and enemies.
* Enhanced enemy pathfinding behavior.
* Fixed blurry visuals for collectibles and destructible props.
* Fixed "Game Over" screen displaying incorrect gold and zero gold after full-duration runs.
* Improved enemy knockback behavior.
* Fixed dash not dealing damage. This is a temporary small fix; all abilities will undergo a damage overhaul in the coming weeks.
* Added total damage display to the "Game Over" screen.
* Fixed multiple collectible masks causing unintended behavior; duration now resets instead.
* Fixed main menu media playback stopping after one playthrough.
* Enhanced how Destructible Props are spawned. They spawn once now in somewhat random but hand-placed locations across the map. These props are shown on the mini-map and do not respawn until a new round starts.
* Fixed audio issues when reloading the game.
* Improved Kagura's damage mechanics to prevent multiple enemies from damaging her simultaneously.
* Fixed dialogue display bugs.
* Fixed max-level auto-select reward bug.
* Fixed Kagura's ultimate magnet causing unintended leveling during her ultimate scene.
* Adjusted stacked enemies to detach more easily.
* Updated slime audio to be less aggressive.
* Reduced character base movement speed to balance against improved enemy navigation and knockback mechanics, preventing overly easy combat evasion. This is temporary as we aim to give enemy balancing another overhaul, which will most likely speed things up overall to allow for easier traveling.
* Fixed bosses becoming non-interactable after player losing a boss fight.
* Resolved a bug where pausing during a boss fight could break the minigame UI.
* Fixed getting stuck in the Settings menu.
* Adjusted music volume to resolve low audio class levels.
* Fixed a bug where having the exact required gold amount prevented shop purchases.
* Corrected diagonal movement speed inconsistencies.
* Synced walk flipbook play rate with adjusted movement speed.
* Fixed closing the Settings menu also closing the pause menu.
* Resolved a number of "Win" and "Lose" screen issues.
* Updated Kagura's dash evolution to look more dynamic.
* Added outlines to characters and enemies for better visibility.
* Fixed closing Settings causing the game to resume.
* Moved the spell book to the center and paused the game when opened.
* Fixed inconsistent pause menu allow condition issues.
* Fixed abilities with zero knockback still applying knockback.
* Fixed a bug where pausing just before losing a boss fight allowed the game to resume.
* Fixed mods not showing which abilities unlock evolutions.
* Resolved a bug where reopening the restart menu after pausing caused UI overlap.
* Stage 1: Players can now move immediately without waiting for the portal to close.
* Moved the spell book to the center for better visibility. This is work in progress, we´re looking for feedback on spell book placement!
* Updated mini-map icons for magnet and gold.
* Resolved XP collectibles granting extra levels.

Known Issues:

* Some enemies remain stuck in their hurt animation.
* Enemies continue moving during their death animations.
* Spell Book placement isn't perfect yet.
* Attack Audio Hit Response needs more work.

Kagura Survivors Huge Update

Greetings, Kagura Champions! Thanks for surviving for as long as you did. We´re back with a big announcement!

After much testing in the open beta branch with your help, we have moved it to the default early access branch. For players and fans of the current early access version of the game, we are going to keep one OPT-INT branch open, which will allow you to continue playing the legacy / classic version of the game!

What will the switch bring, and what can you look for?

If you haven't played the Opt-In Open Beta branch yet, there is much to discover!

We added 11 new enemies, giving the base game a hefty 25 Enemies overall.



To create a more robust experience, we reworked and updated the ability system to allow fighting with 19 New Active and 16 Passive Abilities. You can combine these now to find powerful combinations to find powerful Evolved Abilities to fight with!



All 3 Stages re-emerge with an all-new, even more beautiful look! Discover distinctive and unique points of interest while you fight off enemy hordes!



Kagura 2.0! Your favorite mascot has been given a two-times-larger pixel upgrade, allowing for more expressive animations and even more incredible moments after style upgrading!



We even gave the UI and UX a complete facelift, with a new color palette that goes hand in hand with the rest of the game's art style upgrade transformation.



Alongside the main update to Early Access and the inevitable 1.0 release on the horizon, we updated the Store Page to reflect the game's state and style better. Go take a look!

Finally, Let's talk about Achievements!

You now can get 103 Achievements in Kagura Survivors, compared to the original 47 ones. When you play your first round, get ready to see some new ones pop up. And the best thing? You will not lose any progress! Achievements already gained will be kept, and achievements still working on can be continued to work on.



There are 5 Achievements you will only be able to get in the current build of the Early Access game:

  • Goblin Boss Conqueror
  • Gnome Boss Basher
  • Item Collector
  • Green Slime Boss Defeat
  • Purple Slime Boss Victory


These 5 Achievements will remain as a beautiful memory in the game's Version 1. If you want to 100% them, simply try to get them ahead of time, or use the game's property window to switch back to the legacy branch and get them while playing on that version in the future.



We are mega-hyped to be able to do the BIG update to Kagura Survivors finally and hope that any of the changes, improvements, and other upgrades that went into the game will make it an even better time for you to play!
