Dinosaurs of Primal Planet – a closer look
[p]Hi everyone![/p][p][/p][p]I want to tell you a bit about the dinosaurs in Primal Planet. I tried to show each creature the way it could have behaved in nature – at least as far as we know from fossils and research. The sounds are also designed to feel natural – roars, calls, and even footsteps are based on what these animals might have sounded like in real life.[/p][p][/p][p]It’s not meant to be 100% scientifically accurate – this is still a sci-fi fantasy world, and I enjoyed taking some creative freedom 😅 My goal was to make the creatures feel believable and familiar, even if they’re not textbook-accurate.[/p][p][/p][p]Here are some of the ones you can meet in the game:[/p][p][/p]
Allosaurus
[p]A large carnivorous theropod – a predator that hunted other dinosaurs. The Allosaurus has an important role in the story. It’s not just “another big predator,” and you’ll see that when you meet her.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p]
Apatosaurus
[p]A huge herbivorous sauropod. It’s calm and spends its time feeding on plants, but a creature this size can be dangerous if startled. I made it slow and heavy, like it probably was in real life.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p]
Dunkleosteus
[p]Not a dinosaur but an ancient armored fish – one of the biggest predators of prehistoric seas. You’ll definitely feel fear when you see it moving under the water.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p]
Pterosaur
[p]A flying reptile, not technically a dinosaur, but sharing its world. They glide over the jungle, sometimes hunting, sometimes just circling lazily. Their wing sounds and screeches make the world feel more alive.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p]
Raptor
[p]A small but very clever carnivorous theropod. Raptors hunt in packs, and they’re fast – if you hear leaves moving nearby, you should probably run.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p]
Sinosauropteryx
[p]A small feathered theropod – one of the first dinosaurs discovered with evidence of feathers. Sino is special to me: it’s fluffy and really cute. In the story, you take care of an orphaned Sino, and I hope you’ll feel the same connection I did when making Primal Planet. In local co-op, one player can play as Sino 💚[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p]
Tyrannosaurus Rex
[p]The famous apex predator – a huge carnivorous theropod. The whole story begins when you encounter the T-Rex, so be ready for a big moment.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p]
Troodon
[p]A small, smart carnivorous theropod, probably a very alert and cautious hunter. If you see its glowing eyes watching you, you might be in trouble.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p]Primal Planet will be released on July 28! I’m really looking forward to sharing it with you. Can’t wait to hear what you think when you meet all these creatures! [/p][p][/p][p]PS. Primal Planet got another great preview! Huge thanks to Christian from Eurogamer for taking the time to explore this primeval world 🦕 I’m really happy!
