Debt Level Update

Dear Clawlers

A big, new content update just dropped on both Steam and mobile 💣
We completely reworked the game’s difficulty levels and have added a ‘Debt Level’ system which allows you to test your skills against increasingly tricky difficulty modifiers 🔥
Please note that due to this new system, old runs will no longer be compatible with this patch.



This update also includes a new character!
Many years ago Toxicarl was training to be an alchemist under Great Mage Augmentus. During his training, he experimented with potent toxins and accidentally inhaled some! In the following poison-fueled rampage, he destroyed his teacher's scholarly tomes, so the Great Mage had no choice but to banish him. Now Toxicarl roams the dungeon with his poison flask…



As well as new items and perks and skins!

This patch will break old saves, because of the new debt level system.

  • Added a Debt Level System, which adds stacking difficulty modifiers for each level. Winning a run on one debt level unlocks the next. There are 20 levels in total.
  • If you have already won a run on nightmare you already start with debt level 10 already unlocked.

[h3]Improvements / Reworks[/h3]
  • Lucky Paws can now be used independent of the difficulty mode
  • Removed the different difficulty modes and replaced them with the debt level system
  • Run Endscreen now shows the detailed info of the lucky paw you received
  • Changed Skip and Change-Tab gamepad layout on the reward screen to make more sense
  • Added small particle effects when an item gets removed (Recycle-Bin or Garbage Greg's perk) to make it more clear what happens
  • Renamed Reward room to Granny's room
  • Added two new unlockable character skins

[h3]Balancing[/h3]
  • Brass Knuckle and Hand Mirror now have a cooldown of 2 turns before they can be dropped into the machine again
  • Reduced healing of Count Clawcula's lucky paw from 10% to 5%
  • Golden Armor now only increases your health up to a maximum of 100, however it has no longer a stack limit

[h3]Bugfixes[/h3]
  • Squalo stops adding Piggies when the box is filled with Spikes
  • Barrakiddo now spawns more spikes on higher floors (up to 20 per turn)
  • Fixed Mouse-Input buttons being overlapped by debuffs or damage numbers
  • Swamp-Water should now correctly fill Waterpistols
  • Meli Bomb now correctly deals 10 damage to the player instead of 20 when exploding

Holiday Update & Skin Challenge

  • All modified fluff items are now executed instantly when picked up instead of added into the tube
  • Modified Fluff does not count as an Item anymore and therefore can no longer be dodged or reflected, but also do not trigger Perks that react to an attack.
  • The damage of burning Fluff no longer scales with strength, as it's no longer a usable item, but an indirect attack.
  • Tentacle-, Harpoon- and Magnet-Claw pickup buff can now be stacked and use up a stack each turn

[h3]Improvements [/h3]
  • Some new and improved Sound effects
  • You can now move on the map by clicking with the mouse
  • The title of items in the mouseover tooltip is now colored based on item rarity
  • Added item detail display to shredder room

[h3]Bugfixes[/h3]
  • Poisonous Attacks, Poisonous Weapons and Vampire Fangs are now only triggered if the attack was successful and not when avoided or mirrored.
  • Permanent pets can no longer be replaced by temporary ones
  • Fixed bug where temporary upgraded items did not update their values correctly (credit card, syringe, etc)
  • Fluff eaten by piranhas is now removed for the duration of the fight and won't spawn again
  • Damage modifiers now also affect poison that was spread using the contagious poison perk
