Update 2.9.0.36

Improvements
  • A warning message when the BR of the squad player’s vehicles differs from the BR of the squad leader’s vehicles has been added when queuing.

  • A bug where the visual display of aircraft contacts in the sky depended on turning on or off the radar has been fixed.
  • A bug has been fixed with a hydroplane or flying boat with an aerial spawn point may be spawned on the ground far from the airfield in EC missions.
  • Kh-25 missile — a bug has been fixed with the missing laser guiding indicator.
  • AGM-65 missile — missing target lock indicator has been fixed .
  • A bug has been fixed with heat sources that could not be rendered in the TVD with the very high resolution effects option enabled.
  • A bug has been fixed with the hit camera, when the torpedoed ship might be displayed incorrectly or with missing modules.
  • F-8E FN now has authentic radar without IRST.
  • Notch sector for AIM-7 and R-23R has been increased.
  • The maximum range of non-tracking target illumination with a fighter radar (due to radar sidelobes) has been decreased.
  • Head-on target detection has been increased, low altitude tail-on target detection has been decreased for the Pulse-Doppler mode of the F-4K and F-4M FGR2 radars. Detection range has been slightly decreased for impulse mode.
  • Pulse-Doppler mode is chosen by default for Saab 37 Viggen and F-4EJ KAI radars.

“Export order”: Destroyer HMS Mohawk

HMS Mohawk, a Tribal-class destroyer, comes as one of the prizes of the “Export order” craft event!

In our game, the destroyer Mohawk will become a premium British ship at rank II in the bluewater fleet tech tree, and you will be able to get her by participating in the upcoming Export Order game event. War Thunder fleet commanders are already familiar with the Tribal-class destroyers from the very able destroyer Eskimo. The main advantage of the entire class is the multiple main calibre, which on the Mohawk is represented by eight 120mm guns in four gun mounts. Tribal destroyers feature a fairly large ammunition capacity for the main guns, consisting of semi-armour-piercing and several types of high-explosive fragmentation shells, including those with a remote fuse. At the same time, the main guns have a good traverse speed, which allows you to fire while actively maneuvering.

Unlike the Eskimo, which has only three main battery mounts and a reinforced air defense battery, the Mohawk has slightly more modest anti-aircraft artillery - one quad 40mm Pom-Pom mount and two .50 machine gun quad mounts. From secondary weapons, a commander can take into battle either torpedoes in a four-tube launcher, or depth charges with two bomb launchers on the sides and one bomb release device.

In battle, Mohawk is always at the forefront of the attack - she is excellent for capturing points and passing from the flanks, effectively destroying other destroyers and bursting the boats of the enemy's vanguard. The ship has no striking flaws, but there are two striking advantages at once: powerful and fast-turning guns, as well as premium status, which allows you to comfortably and interestingly earn Silver Lions and upgrade British bluewater ships from ranks I to III. Get ready for the "Export Order" craft event and take some time to get a wonderful premium destroyer for your collection!

Battle of Britain Day

This battle became a turning point in the attempts of the German command to completely destroy the Royal Air Force.

Great Britain withstood this battle, and to this day, every 15th September, the Allied nations and the whole world remember this heroic feat and commemorate "Battle of Britain day".

It’s fixed! №22 + Update 2.9.0.33

In this digest we would like to tell you about our continuing work on improvements and fixes in the game. You can find information about all updates that have been released in War Thunder on the website special section.

Returning fragments with penetration

They could indeed disappear if a volumetric shell pierced the intersection of three or four armour parts. The problem occurred rather rarely but has nevertheless been fixed. Good luck hitting your targets!

Improving FPS and increasing stability

Improved FPS since the “Direct Hit” update, improved game stability and we continue to do so! A fatal client crash after a long game on PlayStation 4 has been fixed. But we wanted to remind you of one more important detail - an updated GPU driver on your PC is key to a stable FPS and client stability and every War Thunder player can do it.
  • You can find the latest driver for Nvidia here.
  • You can find the latest driver for AMD here.
The commander was drawn to the east

There's no other way to explain why when you switched from the commander's sight to the good old binoculars, their gaze was always directed to the East. This bug was very recent, but you reported it to us in a timely manner. Fixed!

If you don't need “Automatic target lock”...

...you can turn it off. This is regarding Naval Battles, where target capture could still happen if the target was very close to the aiming marker. Now if you disable this feature, it will indeed be completely disabled. Thanks for your bug reports.

We have also fixed incorrect (inverted) mouse wheel movement when adjusting the distance when the target was very close.

MLRS crosshairs tuned

Remember our devblog about rockets and missile ballistic changes? Multiple Launch Rocket Systems have been updated and adjusted crosshairs. It’s time for you to become a rocket sniper!

Weed’s back!

Hey, hey, easy... for Linux only. Some time ago, grass disappeared from all graphic presets on the Linux platform, and players had to turn it on manually. Rejoice, Linux people! The weed is back!

For this digest we have prepared a large set of useful fixes and game improvements. Be sure to read the full list which we have prepared in the separate changelog - there are many interesting things.

Once again, many thanks for all your bug reports that you submitted in our bug report section on the War Thunder forums.
