Screenshot Competition – Cold Front!



Welcome to the 180th War Thunder Steam Screenshot Competition!


Thanks for another round of incredible entries! This week, we’re looking for screenshots set in snowy, icy, or winter-themed environments. Anything from frozen airfields to tank battles in the tundra and icy naval engagements- capture a moment in the frozen landscapes! The three most popular and three selected by us will get 300 GE. See the winners down below!

[h2]Let’s begin the 180th edition of our competition![/h2]

Create a stunning screenshot and submit it on the War Thunder Steam Community Hub with the tag #WTscreen180. You have time until the 18th of July to submit your screenshot.

After that date, 6 winners will be selected (3 of which will be the highest rated by the community and 3 selected by our judges), each of which receive a reward of 300GE.

    Your screenshot must include snow or ice.
    You must add the #WTscreen180 tag (title cannot have any other text in it).
    Artists may only win by popular vote once per four screenshot competitions.
  • Screenshots need to be compliant with the War Thunder rules.
  • You need to be the author of the screenshot.
  • Screenshot needs to be new. You cannot use those which have previously been published or used in other competitions.
  • We will only accept raw screenshots from the game. You cannot use any editing software nor any other visual enhancements (like Nvidia Ansel filters).
  • You can use filters and settings built into War Thunder.
  • You can use the replay functionality built into War Thunder.
  • Rewards will be delivered to the author's account within 14 working days.

  • A bug that often caused ESA radars to start tracking a non-chosen target when switching from TWS to TRK mode has been fixed. (Report, Report).
  • A bug that often caused radars to start tracking an empty place when switching from TWS to ACM or HMD modes has been fixed. (Report).

[h2]Interface[/h2]
  • A bug where moving the cursor between a decal and decoration slot and back would cause a performance drop has been fixed.

[h2]Sound[/h2]
  • The reload sounds of the Ozelot and Roland SAMs have been adjusted to match the animations and times in reloading cycles.

The Israeli A-4E Returns to Mark its First Flight Anniversary!



On July 12th 1961, the A-4E attack aircraft took to the skies for the first time. This aircraft was a more modern version of the A-4 Skyhawk, featuring improved avionics, a more powerful engine, and as many as six hardpoints for secondary weapons. A total of five hundred of this version were built. On September 29th 1967, the first batch of Skyhawks arrived at the port of Haifa. These aircraft served Israel for as many as 48 years until 2015.

The A-4E attack aircraft returns to the game and will not go away! And until July 14th (11:00 GMT), it can be purchased with a 30% discount for 6,237 Golden Eagles.

About this aircraft
  • The A-4E (rank VI) has the speed and armament to take on enemy fighters, and its 60 countermeasures ensure it can counter air-to-air missiles. Its real strength is attacking bases and ground targets, as it can carry up to 8,500 lb and has access to a varied array of bombs, rockets and gun pods.

Last Sunday marked the end of the Armored Apex 4x4 Tournament, the second major event of the WTCS season. After advancing from the qualifiers, AVReS delivered an outstanding performance in the play-offs, remaining undefeated and securing a 3-0 victory against LEET in a thrilling Sinai final. With this win, AVReS now tops the WTCS leaderboard with 256 points!

[h2]Who is the Most Valuable Player (MVP)?[/h2]
Big congratulations to Volkodav from team LEET for being named MVP of Armored Apex 2025! His ground dominance, flawless coordination, and sharp strategic plays truly impressed the jury. This well-earned title for the season’s second Major sets the tone strong — and we’re already excited to see who’ll claim the MVP title for Air Superiority! Shoutout as well to Darthmoll and САНЯ КАМЕНЬ for securing 2nd and 3rd place in the jury votes.

In the weeks ahead, you’ll have the chance to train every weekend and gear up for WTCS Major III — Air Superiority, a high-flying 4v4 air tournament!

[h2]Here are the key dates:[/h2]
  • Open Qualifier I: 13th–14th September
    Open Qualifier II: 20th–21st September
    Playoffs: 27th–28th September
    Final: 4th–5th October
All of the first matches kick off at 15:00 GMT, with the Twitch stream going live at 14:40 GMT.

  • A bug that caused the indication of secondary targets (all targets, except the currently selected one) in TWS radar mode to show up on the screen if the aircraft had a targeting pod installed has been fixed.

  • CS/SA5 — data link and LOAL functionality have been added to the FB-10 and FB-10A missiles.

[h2]Interface[/h2]
  • A bug that caused the opening of the menu or the map screen to close the pinned visual weapon selector has been fixed.
  • A bug that caused the messages about in-battle awards to overlap with the bar of team points has been fixed.

[h2]Locations and Missions[/h2]
  • A bug that caused ground vehicle bots to not move in test drives has been fixed. (Report).
  • A bug that caused distant mountains in some locations to cut off when rotating the camera has been fixed.
