MYTHICAL MAYHEM Early Access V0.3.5 Released

Exciting news
MYTHICAL MAYHEM Early Access V0.3.5 will be the last major release of early access. This should be close to the full game including the campaign mode. I plan to release some videos of a campaign playthrough hopefully the campaign mechanics are straight forward but the videos should help with campaign features as well as some game tips; avoid the video if you do not like spoilers. This is close to the end of early access; their should be no big changes that happen between now and release. This is the end of the early access journey. Official launch will happen within a few days time to a few weeks time as I look to possible coordinate with a Steam deck builder event.

Bug fixes
  • Unholy Tenacity should orphan its card less when triggered
  • Adventurers Assemble should no longer fail early if your city is pillaged
  • Many Scenarios with Bandits were missing their minions the Highwayman making them significantly more challenging than intended
  • Some cards that were discarded via the Nap Time card would have strange hand positioning, this should be fixed
  • Game summary should now correctly show proper number of non-brown heroes destroyed


Balance Adjustment
  • Blues Master Bowyer now costs one less and adds 2 attack if played a bow instead of 1
  • Blues Kill shot now generates a Skull Essence
  • Blues Shoot the moon extra ability now only requires a bow played to activate
  • Blue has moved to team Judgment Night
  • Rascal card now costs 0 this should help trigger the unholy tenacity a little bit
  • Rascal can no longer train
  • Sebastian Whitewind's Murderous Rage card now give +1 attack per departed common folk the rest of the card remains the same.
  • Indomitable Will power no longer Shuffles your discard pile into your Deck, the rest of the ability works the same.


Enhancements
  • Side Quest In Good Repair will not happen if you have store damage
  • Side Quest Adventurers Assemble will not happen until at least turn 6 or more
  • Better view screens or options for card areas like discards, destroyed, lair, etc
  • Speed up Card selection screens exit ; now almost instant
  • Hero detail viewer you can no right click on hero selections to see all cards in the set
  • For custom and scenario play you can now filter heroes by Allegiance and Essence
  • Many text improvements

News
This should be the last major release of early access. Their will still be at least one possible more minor updates coming as we get close to a full release. The campaign is getting close to done. Still some clean up, enhancements and balancing to come. A new combat tutorial will be on its way soon. The price will be increasing before the end of February 2024.

Bug fixes
  • "Break the Spell" quest can no long be incorrectly won just by collecting magic essences
  • Removing a Hex by revealing a white card should no longer cause the card to go into limbo
  • Fixed an issue for checking when creatures have a foe to the left of them; affects things like : Formation, Adjacent, Push Back, etc
  • Freedom should no longer crash the game in a specific instance
  • Wolves at the Gate dark saga should now properly count wolves
  • Various quest counter cleanups to trigger Arch-Villain victories more accurately
  • Bad monkey card should now be better at drinking
  • You should no longer be able to get negative XP
  • Mind Over Matter no longer draws a card when it shouldn't
  • Fixed some phantom card issues

Mythical Mayhem Q4 2023 News

It has been a great year of development for Mythical Mayhem. I am pleased to report the game is ahead of schedule and has grown in scope and features. I wanted to give an update on a few items in development and the future of Mythical Mayhem.

Campaign

At this point the last major item for an official release is the campaign. Currently this is more than 75% done their is one chapter left to complete, one major system left to implement. This last major system is a campaign Market feature, which is going to take a bit of time to finish implementing but I believe it to be a nice and important addition.

Updates

Until now we have been able to do regular monthly updates, as we get close to the end of early access this will begin to slow. We are planning 1 more fairly large update that should launch in early December. After this unless there are critical bugs and a hot fix required their will be only 1 to 2 additional updates that come some time in 2024.

V1 Release

By V1 most of the card content should already be released. The major feature that be released is the campaign with 35 scenarios it should take an average playthrough very roughly 10 hours of play. Also being released will be Steam Achievements.

Release Date

We are certainly ahead of schedule of before end of 2024. Unless things go off the rails I am going to say Mythical Mayhem should be able to release out of early access by mid year 2024, and we will be aiming to release before then.

Price Increase

Early in 2024 before the end of early access we will be raising the price of Mythical Mayhem by between 20% to 50%. This mostly reflects how much more the scope of the game has grown.

After Early Access

We would love to do a some DLCs with varied ranges in scope from very minor cosmetic options to larger card set releases and everything in-between. However this is all in the future and will depend on a few factors of which the number one priority is staying focused and getting the game out of Early Access to a V1 release.
