Playtest 2732 Update Combat Lag

[p]Greetings, scholars![/p][p]The combat lag issues have been significantly improved![/p][p][/p][p]To English using players: We are sorry and acknowledged that the translation is half baked, we will improve that in coming Demo. Thanks again for your patience. [/p][p][/p][p]We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who participated in testing during the Spring Festival and provided feedback on every issue you encountered. Without your participation, our small team would truly be lost.[/p][p]In addition to the issues manually reported by players, our backend system also automatically uploaded error logs. During this period, over 2,200 players participated in the test, and we have successfully identified approximately 200 issues.[/p][p]In this update, we have fixed and improved about 160 issues, including 54 critical bugs that caused the game to freeze or required reloading a save file to resolve.[/p][p][/p]
Key Improvements & Fixes:
• [p]Performance: Significantly reduced lag during combat and while in cities.[/p]
  • [p]Combat AI: Addressed an issue where melee soldiers were too "free" and would wander off, disengaging from battle. (Note: We will continue to improve this. While they no longer scatter individually, there is currently a known issue where they may disengage as a group.)[/p]
  • [p]Reputation Logic: Fixed an internal inconsistency where capturing an enemy stronghold incorrectly decreased our own faction's reputation.[/p]
  • [p]Trading Exploit: Fixed an issue allowing players to sell Governor Seals to merchants, including seals belonging to other players.[/p]
  • [p]Hunger/Stamina Bug: Fixed a bug where, once a character became severely hungry (or exhausted/tired), they could never become full/rested again regardless of how much they ate or rested.[/p]
  • [p]Softlock Fix: Resolved an issue where the "Exit Freeze" button failed to work when the game was stuck.[/p]
  • [p]Guest Status: Fixed an issue where guests (retainers) in a "Severely Injured" state would still recklessly join battles.[/p]
  • [p]Health Logic: Fixed a bug where units with 0 HP in combat would not die.[/p]
  • [p]Recruitment Logic: Fixed an issue where persuading a captured Bandit Leader to surrender incorrectly added them as a Clan Guest/Retainer.[/p]
  • [p]Crash Fixes:[/p]
    • [p]Fixed a crash when viewing Clan Member details.[/p]
    • [p]Fixed a softlock where players could enter the camp but were unable to leave.[/p]
    • [p]Various other fixes for random freezes and crashes.[/p]
Known Issues (Identified but not yet fixed):
• [p]Map Lag: The lag issue when moving on the world map has only been partially addressed; more work is needed.[/p]
  • [p]Recall Glitch: When recalling guests, some still fail to return despite the feature now displaying a recall time. We are aware that some remain missing.[/p]
Planned for Early Access (EA) Version:
[p]Based on frequent community requests, the following features are scheduled for improvement in the upcoming EA version:[/p]
  • [p]Batch upgrade and dismiss soldiers.[/p]
  • [p]Batch recruit, execute, and release prisoners.[/p]
  • [p]Shared inventory and shared Clan Warehouse functionality.[/p]
  • [p]Cavalry units spawning without horses.[/p]
  • [p]Information overload on the world map (UI optimization).[/p]
[p]Once again, thank you all for participating in the testing. Our team will continue to work tirelessly on fixes and optimizations. We welcome you to try the new version and provide further feedback in Steam Discussion or under this post.[/p][p]Shi Huang (始皇) (Development Team)

[/p][p][/p][p]Sincerely,[/p][p]Shi Huang (始皇)

Horsemanship and Etiquette! The Year of the Horse Spring Playtest is now live!

[p]Esteemed scholars, the Steam Playtest for Huaxia: Warring States has officially begun![/p][p]This Playtest will remain open throughout the Spring Festival period.
Simply head to the Steam store page, click the “Request Access” button, and you’ll be able to download and play![/p][p][/p][p]Since the last test, we’ve made numerous experience optimizations based on your feedback. In this Playtest, you can look forward to:[/p]
  • [p]Garrisoning troops to defend captured cities; other states will now proactively launch siege campaigns.[/p]
  • [p]Smarter open-world troops—NPCs act according to their own strength (initiating wars, raids, bandit suppression, etc.).[/p]
  • [p]Cavalry charges controllable during battle.[/p]
  • [p]Rotatable scene cameras to admire the beauty of the Nine Provinces.[/p]
  • [p]New roaming quests across various commanderies.[/p]
[p][/p][p]We’re well aware that this Playtest is far from perfect. We warmly invite you to share your insights via the in-game questionnaire.
You can also reach us through our Discord or the questionnaire link in the announcement.
[/p][p]Xiao Xi will also be actively present in the Discord, ready to hear your thoughts in real time.
Rest assured, no suggestion you make will fall on deaf ears.[/p][p][/p][p]Take, for example, the issue many of you raised about having to walk long distances to find specific NPCs after entering a city.
We’ve now added a quick-access area and roving feature to the location interaction interface—get to your target with a single click![/p][p][/p][p](We’ve also fixed the bug that caused quick travel to send players straight to Penglai Fairy Mountain. You’re safe now.)[/p][p][/p][p]In addition, we’re exploring ways to let you join us in building an even more authentic and dynamic Warring States world—such as custom retainers, legions, clan structures and traits, and even custom philosophies that can rise to prominence among the Hundred Schools of Thought.
If this idea resonates with you and you’d like to learn more, please click “Endorse” on our crowdfunding idea page. Should this project receive your support, we will begin preparing a crowdfunding campaign.[/p][p][/p][p]Last but not least, don’t forget to add Huaxia: Warring States to your wishlist![/p][p]You’re also welcome to join our Discord, and strategize with fellow scholars over the fate of the Nine Provinces![/p]

Strategy RPG game playtest coming soon!

[p]Esteemed scholars, hope you’re all well. The Year of the Horse approaches, and the First Emperor is here to report our latest progress.[/p][p]A few days ago, we launched a small-scale test for the game. While overall stability has significantly improved, we still proved no match for the cunning AI of our foot soldiers.
The open-world squads had far too many ideas—war broke out at any moment, resulting in various stutters and freezes. With heavy hearts, we had to “lower their intelligence” to temporarily alleviate the issue (we’ll restore it in future optimizations). To make matters worse, some of our own troops inexplicably defected and joined the Han forces in overwhelming me—an old ruler bereft of strength.[/p][p][/p][p]Fortunately, the First Emperor’s subordinates worked through the night, racing against time to fix most of these critical bugs. These issues made it clear that the game still requires further polishing.[/p][p][/p][p]Thus, after resolving these major game-breaking bugs, we’ve decided to launch a more polished Playtest (your feedback remains sincerely welcomed!).[/p][p][/p][p]Starting February 13, esteemed scholars can visit the Huaxia: Warring States store page, click “Request Access,” and download the Playtest.[/p][p][/p][p]Although we couldn’t deliver the DEMO in time, we will continue maintaining the Playtest throughout the Lunar New Year. Therefore, the winner list for the prediction event will be determined based on the Playtest release date.
Players who correctly guessed today’s launch date in the previous event, please DM Shiy with your prediction screenshot to claim your reward. Thank you all for your participation and support![/p][p][/p][p]Additionally, we’re exploring ways to let you join us in building an even more authentic and vibrant Warring States world—such as custom retainers, legions, clan structures and traits, and even custom ideologies that can rise to prominence among the Hundred Schools of Thought.
If this sounds exciting to you and you’d like to learn more, please click “Endorse” on our crowdfunding idea page. If this project receives your support, we will begin preparing for a crowdfunding campaign.[/p][p][/p][p]Finally, thank you to every scholar for your patience and trust. We’ll continue refining this journey together—see you on the road.[/p]

PLAYTEST is now open!

Currently, we are brainstorming ideas such as:[/p]

  • [p]Customizable Clans (clan history, members, and specialties)[/p]
  • [p]Customizable Ideologies[/p]
  • [p]Customizable Steam Achievements[/p]
  • [p]Customizable Opening Screen Characters[/p]
