Thank you to everyone who's been enjoying the 1.1 update so far and sharing bugs and feedback! Here's a small patch to address a few things brought to my attention:

• Bugfix: Special Offers accepted between league and cup matches may become impossible to complete.
  
• Bugfix: Special Offers requiring a player to score X goals are created without finding a suitable player.
  
• Bugfix: multiple players scoring hat tricks in the same match aren't counted towards Colin's/Helen's Challenges.
  
• Bugfix: game crashes when attempting and failing to load image for some invalid custom appearance items.
  
• Improvement: additional database validation warnings.

[p]The 1.1 update, Bang Average Football's first major content update since launch, is now available for everyone! 🥳⚽️

This update adds a ton of new content for new and old players.

• [p] 🏆 Tournaments mode: combine league divisions, cups and knockouts in any mix of teams and settings to construct and conquer your own competitions outside of Story mode. Throw all your teams into one giant megaleague or relive your favourite tournament from years gone by.

EDIT 2025-06-27: for those asking about using 1.0 Story save files in 1.1: save files started in 1.0 (annotated with a small red 'v1.0' banner in the file select screen) will get the classic Story mode experience, and not the new 1.1 Story mode. Ultimately, it became too complicated to add 1.1 content to 1.0 saves without introducing sequence breaks or risking missing the new content altogether.

If you're starting again for 1.1, you can progress through the early parts much quicker by simulating matches on Easy difficulty; the game won't penalise you for this and you can reset those settings mid-Story once you're caught up and playing matches again.[/p]

This is a very small patch mainly intended to add very minor forwards-compatibility with the upcoming 1.1 update (available in beta very soon!).

• Bugfix: 'Done' label appears unlocalised in some places.
  
• Bugfix: Player skin appears miscoloured with some outfits.
  
• Bugfix: Some scrolling UIs eat disproportionate amounts of memory.
  
• Improvement: Game will not crash if post-1.1 saves are detected.
  
• Improvement: Added additional special characters to fonts (={}ŽžȘșȚț).

• Bugfix: Gamepad select screen isn't shown before Moon Utd match in co-op Story mode.
  
• Bugfix: Players may be reassigned between gamepads shortly after receiving a pass in co-op.
  
• Bugfix: Trees sometimes flicker when camera pans quickly during Drills.
  
• Improvement: Upgraded LÖVE version to 11.5, hopefully improving performance and stability across the board.
  
• Improvement: Upgraded SDL version to 2.32.2, adding support for more gamepad models.
  
• Improvement: Improved detection for Steam Deck when applying default settings.
  
• Improvement: Steam Deck on-screen keyboard is automatically opened when text input is active.

• 1.0.17b: fixed Linux Steam integration crash; fixed bug where locale would incorrectly reset when resetting user settings; added input mapping detection for additional gamepad models.
  
• 1.0.17c: fixed bug where gamepads wouldn't reliably connect at startup; fixed incorrect mappings for some Nintendo ABXY layout gamepads.
  
• 1.0.17d: fixed startup crash with several gamepad models.
  

• Bugfix: Game crashes when using a Story mode team with an incomplete first XI as an AI-controlled team in Quick Matches.
  
• Improvement: Tactics screen will show clearer warning message when players are out of position.
  
• Improvement: Post-match earnings show a "-" instead of "0" for sponsorship earnings after away games.
  
• Improvement: Spectators use CPU more efficiently when updating.
