Major Patch & Future Plans!

Hello, dear players!

We’ve just released a major patch packed with fixes (details below), and now we’d like to share our current plans and thoughts with you!

MAC build and Consoles will be updated in nearest future!

1. Thank You!
First of all — a huge thank you for your time spent in the game, your feedback, bug reports (especially via F7!), and for the amazing content on YouTube, Twitch, and other platforms! You make our community better!

2. What We’re Working On Right Now

  • Endless Mode and 6 new arenas — both features are already in development and will be released in just a couple of weeks!
  • Steam Trading Cards — waiting for final approval from Valve.
  • Steam Deck — actively working on compatibility improvements to get that sweet verification.
  • Soundtrack and ArtBook — will be released soon separatly!


3. Co-op — Is It Happening?
We did experiment with local co-op in one of the demo versions, but the game has since become more complex. Just imagine: two players in full "Source" armor means 14 units on the battlefield at once! 😅
Still, we’re exploring the possibility of adding co-op in some limited form. But it’s important to note: online co-op is definitely not happening — it’s technically impossible in "KIBORG".

4. Voice Acting — What’s the Plan?
We know many of you aren’t happy with the current voice acting. In this patch, we’ve added the option to disable character voices individually. We’re also looking into ways to improve this further, but we’re not ready to share details yet.

5. Discord & Leaderboards?
We’re considering adding Discord activities (maybe tournaments or events) and a leaderboard system — but these are still in early discussions.

6. Secret Ideas…
We have some really exciting ideas in the works, but it’s too early to talk about them. Once things are finalized, we’ll share the news — promise it’ll be worth the wait! 🔥

[h2]Gameplay changes[/h2]

Status effect tick damage can no longer kill the player — it no longer deals damage when the player has 1 health.
Dev Comment: Dying from status effects was one of the most frustrating experiences. With this change, status effects should feel fairer to players.

Status explosions now deal more damage to enemies.

Enemies now have higher levels on difficulties 2 through 7, providing a more engaging challenge.

Adjusted the difficulty curve at the end of Floor 2 and the beginning of Floor 3 to smooth out a difficulty spike.

The "Organic Tissue" augmentation now heals from the last two hits instead of three.

Removed the "Efficient Exchange" perk.
Dev Comment: "Organic Tissue" and "Efficient Exchange" rewarded passive gameplay, such as standing AFK out of combat. This created unengaging playstyles, so we’re addressing this issue in this and the next patch.

Dev Comment: Mutators should now feel like real power boosts instead of unfavorable trade-offs.

Removed "Elite Bodyguards" mutator until further rework.

Slightly increased the reload cost of the Gauss Revolver.

Nerfed Gunslinger augmentations:
- Quick Reload
- Quick Draw
- Full Metal Jacket
- One Machine Army
Dev Comment: These high-end augmentations were a bit too strong and made the Gunslinger overpowered too quickly. The set can still reach a "broken" state, but now it won’t escalate as fast and won’t one-shot the final boss.

Reduced number of Drone Factories and Incubators in encounters.

Fenrir Minor Synergy now has an increased chance to drop health pickups.

Fenrir altars now drop melee weapon pickups instead of health packs.
Dev Comment: These Fenrir changes should make the set more stable and less dependent on RNG for melee weapon drops.

Reduced horizontal recoil deviation; overall recoil on some weapons has been lowered.

Removed the "Integrator" melee weapon mod.

Blur Heart now requires a smaller attack chain to trigger healing.

[h2]⚙️ IMPROVEMENTS:[/h2]
  • Chemist Balloon Explosion – Updated logic for more predictable chaos
  • Enemy AI Tweak – Attack commitments! Enemies can no longer swap targets mid-swing
  • Weapon Recoil 2.0 – Smoother shooting physics
  • HUD Upgrade – Critical info now bigger & bolder
  • Reset Progress – Added hold-to-confirm (no more tragic misclicks)
  • Cutter Abilities – Rebalanced weight system
  • Steam Deck – Disabled annoying feedback hints


[h2]🐞 BUG FIXES:[/h2]
Cinematic Safety
  • Fixed deaths during safe cutscenes
  • Turrets no longer fire during dramatic moments

Progress Blockers
  • Meditation softlock erased
  • Negative max health glitch patched

Annoyances Removed
  • Duplicate notifications silenced
  • Inga’s repeated phrases reduced
  • Roulette spin after reward fixed

Text & UI
  • Incorrect descriptions rewritten
  • Super Strike gamepad hint corrected
  • Implant upgrade stats now display properly

Balance & Behavior
  • Universal Remedium regeneration fixed
  • Equilibrium perk won’t harm allies anymore
  • Dual Heatstorm sidearms stats recalibrated

Character Issues
  • Novak no longer eternally stuck in "Saint Mode"
  • Whisper no longer stuck after Dead
  • Gunslinger drones don't stugger bosses

Hotfix #5 is Live!

We’ve just rolled out Hotfix #5, addressing some critical issues and making a few smaller improvements. Here’s what’s new:

The Most Important Fixes:
✅ Fixed video playback issues on Steam Deck (affects cutscenes and tutorials).
✅ Fixed numerous cases where the protagonist would permanently freeze when attempting a jump attack.
✅ Updated the Mac version to include all previous updates.

Other Improvements:
  1. Fixed the incorrect hint for the Super Move button on gamepad (showed LT instead of RB).
  2. Fixed several typos in Russian localization.
  3. Added 2 new bandit models for visual variety.
  4. Fixed Source implant kit allies spawning in inaccessible locations (in Arena).
  5. Fixed allied enemies spawned by the Incubator in the Arena living indefinitely.

🔥 Hotfix #4 is Live! 🔥

  • Arena is no longer endless – it now ends after the 30th trial. We already work on separate endless mode and soon will release!
  • Added all three bosses to the Arena mode.
  • Renamed the progress reset button again (previously labeled "New Game").
  • Improved enemy targeting logic when player allies are present (enemies won’t ignore you now).
  • Fixed infinite ally stacking from the Source implant in Arena.
  • Slightly polished some HUD animations.
  • Fixed button display issues when selecting keybindings in non-English languages.

Hotfix #3

Major Changes:
  • Controller Layout Selection – Added the option to choose between two preset control schemes (currently, only the dodge button is remapped). Full customization will come in future updates.
  • Toggle Subtitles On/Off – Players can now enable/disable subtitles for the announcer, AI assistant, and story cutscenes.
  • Character Names in Subtitles – Story cutscenes now display character names. Spoiler: You might not have noticed, but one of them is Volkov. This is no coincidence...


Improvements:
  • Minor UI/UX fixes across several screens.
  • Updated status effect displays in the Database and weapon stats.
  • Changed the text on the "New Game" button and its warning message to be clearer, preventing accidental progress loss. (More substantial changes are planned for the future.)
  • Enemy drones now self-destruct when the trial ends.


Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed an enemy reaction bug where they would counterattack immediately after a parry if the player dodged.
  • Fixed the "Piercing" weapon mod, which could damage allies.
  • Adjusted Cutter's behavior at long range.
  • The "Bomb" status now only damages the affected target and their allies.
  • The Loader Robot no longer attempts to pull in targets it shouldn't.
  • Added a healing aura for the Chemist from the "Source" legs.
  • Fixed the Drone Factory's ragdoll (now correctly shows an explosion).
  • Added a warning circle when the Chemist is about to explode after a canister hit.
  • Fixed an issue where Sovereign's head wouldn’t damage agents.
  • Adjusted subtitle timing in the 4th cutscene.


⚠️ Patch changes are not yet available in the Mac version – the update will follow later.

🔥 Second Hotfix is Live!

We’ve just deployed the second hotfix addressing several key issues:

  • Fixed a bug preventing video settings from applying on Mac
  • Enemies no longer get stuck behind fences or on spawn points (in most cases).
  • The Host’s presence has been rebalanced – now a bit less intrusive.
  • Added a 5-second delay before the "New Game" button activates – reducing accidental clicks.
