Content Roadmap & 1.1 Update tease

[p]We're well clear of the bug fixing and patching phase of the post-launch plan, and are about to unleash our first big update on the world![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Trash Goblin 1.1 - The Spirit of Customer Service is going to be coming to Trash Goblin very soon, so keep an eye out for details. I literally sent the trailer for an audio pass earlier today, so that gives you an idea of how close you are to being able to enjoy it![/p][p][/p][p]And as for the other updates - as per usual, we're keeping dates and too many other specifics to ourselves because we don't want to over-promise or disappoint you. That said, 1.2 is obviously going to be the update where we believe the game is ready to be enjoyed to its fullest on Steam Deck (alongside more new content, of course), 1.3 will see a bunch of exciting new features, and content focused around everyone's favourite Lizard merchant, Donoval! 1.4 is the fuzziest on here, and revolves around customisation... and then beyond that we've got plenty more up our sleeves too![/p][p][/p][p]All of these updates will feature new content, quests, trinkets, bug fixes, polish, features and some of them will introduce brand new gameplay, plus we're hoping that each one will add a few achievements to the mix as well![/p][p][/p][p]Expect some of this to land in 2025, some of it later, and as ever this is very much a work in progress and subject to change.[/p][p][/p][p]What about Localisation?[/p][p]We're hoping to announce specifics plans around localisation very soon, but don't want to say anything until we're 100% sure. Suffice to say, we want to make sure goblins from all around the world get to enjoy this game![/p]

Bug Fix Patch #8

[p]Greetings Goblins! We've got another bug fix patch for you. [/p][p][/p][p]Don't worry folks, we've not forgotten about the new road map. Things are just super busy here at Spilt Milk HQ at the moment and also slightly disrupted - as well as working on all the exciting future plans, we're also prepping for the Develop next week. The whole team are heading down to Brighton to the Develop Awards as we're nominated for Best In-Game Accessibility and Best Small Studio. Plus our Audio Engineer, Ben, is up for the Game Dev Hero Audio award! Keep your little goblin fingers crossed for us! [/p][p][/p][p]Once we're back from Develop we'll be finalising a few things and then should have some exciting news to share with in the coming weeks. [/p][p][/p]
 • [p]We've fixed an issue that was causing some players to get stuck inside the upcycling ceremony and deleting trinkets.[/p]
 • [p]NPCs will no longer refuse to accept the correct trinket after the game has saved with an unwanted trinket on the sales mat. [/p]
 • [p]The Upclycing and Pay-What-You-Can information boxes can now be closed[/p]
 • [p]Changes to the camera edge movement setting will no longer reset after reloading the game.[/p]
 • [p]Icons for trinkets placed in the soak tub will no longer default to the bottle icon after reloading save files.[/p]
 • [p]We've made some tweaks to prevent random NPCs from creating requests for non existent trinkets.[/p]
 • [p]Trinkets can no longer be duplicated by manipulting full Stash books![/p]
 • [p]The Hz setting in the Resolution field on the Options menu will no longer default to your monitor's max refresh rate on reload.[/p]

Bug Fix Patch #7 and Mini Upcycling Update

[p]Hello Goblins![/p][p][/p][p]Welcome to our "mini upcycling update". We've got a handful of upcycling related bug fixes for you, plus we've been adding some new sockets to existing trinkets. Some of these changes are based on requests from the community and some are additions we wanted to make but haven't had the time until now. We've got plenty more of the tweaks planned but if you have some suggestions of your own, we'd love to hear them. Head over to our Discord and let us know what you've like to see. We can't promise we'll make every change - some things are just not possible - but we love hearing your suggestions and seeing if we can rise to the challenge![/p][p][/p]
Upcycling Updates
[p][/p]
 • [p]It is now possible to attach the Viola Bow to the front of the Viola.[/p]
 • [p]The positioning of one of the Viola Bow's charm attachments has been tweaked.[/p]
 • [p]The Woolen Mouse can now sit upon a number of things.[/p]
 • [p]You can now attach charms and gems to the Motor Broom Handlebars.[/p]
 • [p]The Heart Pendant now sits better on necklaces.[/p]
 • [p]The candle holder can now be decorated.[/p]
 • [p]And despite protestations from some of the team, the dolls can how hold things. What could possibly go wrong? Letting little dolls made up of all kinds of weird parts hold blades has always ended in cuddle and unicorns, in my experience.[/p]
[p]Don't say we didn't warn you![/p][p][/p]
Bug Fixes
• [p]The Trinketpedia will now recognise all combined child trinkets attached to a parent trinket when upcycling and selling.[/p]
 • [p]It is no longer possible to prevent time from passing when upcycling. You rascals.[/p]
 • [p]The sack will now register as having been placed successfully on the work mat even if the top flops over the edge. We let goblins live their chosen life, now sacks can too. Even if it is just encouraging them to be lazy and not sitting up straight while the player talks to you. In my day...-[/p]

Bug Fix Patch #6

We've adding some additional logging to get to the bottom of a rare situation where Random NPC requests become corrupted. This is presenting in various ways:

 • Navigation buttons disappear
 • Getting stuck in the celebration ceremony after chipping
 • Getting stuck in the Upcycling sequence and trinkets disappearing

If you see any of the following, please open a bug ticket on our Discord and send us your save files and logs straight away. This will help us debug the issue but we can also tweak your files to get you out of this situation!

Bug Fix Patch #5 - fixes & Early Access ➡️ 1.0 save help

[p]We had a word with Aimon, and they've agreed to sort something out for players who are coming from EA to 1.0, as they won't be able to keep their progress![/p][p][/p][p]There's now a little system in the game which should make life a lot nicer for players coming to the 1.0 after playing the Early Access version, and a bunch of fixes on top for everyone else.[/p][p][/p]
PLAYING 0.9 WITH ALL YOUR EARLY ACCESS PROGRESS
[p]As you know, the saves are not compatible - something we'd dearly hoped to avoid, but couldn't - and we do have a guide on how to still play the game with those in an archived branch:[/p][p][/p][p]How to access Early Access save files post launch[/p][p][/p]
PLAYING 1.0 - NEW FEATURE
[p]But for those of you who want to play the 1.0, this new system measures all the things you've bought and unlocked in the game, then converts it to a nice pile of gold that, when you've made your first sale in the game, will be delivered into your coffers![/p][p][/p][p]The full details are in this new guide we wrote:[/p][p] Early Access Gold Transfer[/p][p]We hope this goes some way to avoid any disappointment![/p][p][/p][p]If you've got Early Access saves as the most recent in Trash Goblin, this is what you'll see:[/p][p]First the game detects your Early Access save...[/p][p][/p][p]...and then assuming you want to it tells you how much gold you'll get based on your progress![/p][p][/p][p]"But what if I've already played a bunch in 1.0?" Well, we've covered that in the guide too - I'd recommend having a read, and balance your 1.0 progress against starting a new game with the bonus gold.[/p][p][/p][p]It's worth saying we're sorry for any frustrations this has caused, we should really have thought about how to handle this better a lot sooner, but we do listen and react as much - and as fast - as possible. We love you goblins![/p][p][/p]
FIXES FOR ALL
[p]But of course this update adds a bunch more stability and bugfixes too! Read on![/p]
 • [p]Trinket rotation with WASD is now consistent across all shop viewpoints - it was oriented along a world axis before, rather than relevant to your view as a goblin![/p]
 • [p]Characters are much more... emotional?! We've added tonne of new expression changes for the named NPCs.[/p]
 • [p]SFX are now in place for the stamp on the "Any-Day" Trading Permit.[/p]
 • [p]The map will now close automatically if Aimon starts a conversation with you while you're looking at it. [/p]
 • [p]The district confirmation pop-up now closes properly if you close the map while it is open.[/p]
 • [p]District icons will now always show the quest waiting exclamation mark when there's a quest waiting for you.[/p]
 • [p]The map will also now display sparkle VFX when there's a district quest waiting.[/p]
 • [p]Some Side Quest customers couldn't be dismissed without talking to them a second time, and that's now fixed.[/p]
 • [p]Even more small tweaks and fixes.[/p]
[p][/p][p]The eagle-eyed amongst you will have seen the other patches we put out last week, but just in case you were wondering:[/p]
 • [p]Patch 3: We added some additional logging to help us get the bottom of the issue where some people cannot get Nomia to leave![/p]
 • [p]Patch 4: All quest completion states are now saved properly on non-English language systems, meaning Nomia will finally stop returning to repeat the same quests over and over![/p]
