Enhance your Farm: Tractor and Tools

This is our third post in the series of core features in Farm Together 2. Today we're talking about your tractor and other tools to enhance productivity of your farm!
Your Tractor
A tractor is an essential tool for any farmer worth its salt! It will help you do your tasks faster over a greater area than just doing it by yourself.

The Tractor is unlocked by building the Garage in the Town. It's possible to hop on it at any time while you're on your farm. Of course, you can customize it, but we'll get to that in a future post.

Using the tractor uses up fuel, that is slowly replenished over time, or you can refill it faster if you build fuel depots.
Tractor improvements in Farm Together 2
We've made several improvements to tractors to make it easier to use:

  • Fuel slowly replenishes over time, so you don't need to move back to fuel depots as often. They will remain being useful, though!
  • Instead of using player level, fuel capacity can be upgraded in the garage.
  • While the working area of the tractor remains being 3x3, interaction speed is now much quicker.
  • Improved behavior while placing roads and fences.
Automatic Mode
We've added an automatic mode to the tractor. When you enable it, the tractor will move in a straight line, quickly working on all tiles it moves over. This includes harvesting, plowing and even planting and watering!

The Automatic mode is specially useful on crops, and it should help with that problematic case of "guests don't plow after harvest"!

While we think this mode is a great tool, we'll be hearing your feedback on it and make adjustments if required.
Farm Tools
You can place special buildings and tools that will help with specific tasks. While these tools are not new, their behavior has been changed a bit, as well as their looks. Here's a couple of examples:

  • Sprinklers:
Sprinklers will automatically keep flowers and crops watered all the time. This doubles their growing speed, so they're really useful!
As an improvement over the first game, sprinklers are no longer a special fence, and are placed on tiles, on top of the flowers/crops. They also cover a range of 3x3 tiles around them.
  • Feeders:
They increase the amount of food available for a group of animals adjacent to it. As we said in our first post, the animals system has been modified to make it more simple, and with it the feeders are more simple as well, directly increasing available food storage without any additional cost.
And more to come!
We want to add new tools and ways to increase productivity on the farm in the future, such as Farmhands, special buildings that help you set an area where only specific crops can be planted, etc.

We're eager to hear your ideas and suggestions once you've got your hands in the game!
