Decimate Drive is out now

Decimate Drive is out now on Steam. Time to find out if you have what it takes to outsmart a pack of killer cars.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

It's run or die in a killer car infested city. Dash from dumpster to park bench and donโ€™t make a wrong move. Ice cream trucks, snowplows and dodgy vans all want you dead. Decimate Drive, a short indie game, is terrifyingly fast-paced and drenched in atmospheric horror.

Get the game now on Steam.

I hope you enjoy the game! Don't forget to let me know what you think! Leave a review, post bugs / give feedback or join the Discord community. Thanks again to everyone who playtested the game and tried out the demo. It helped me a lot with figuring out what to add to the game, what to fix etc.
Frequently asked questions
What are the plans for the game after its release?

The plan is to add new content to the game in the future. Because I don't work on the game full-time it's hard to say what content will be coming when.

Can my system run the game?

If you want to be sure your system can run the game, I recommend trying out the demo. Even if you tried the demo before. It has been updated with new settings for low-end machines.

I'm experiencing problems when playing the game, where can I get support?

If you are experiencing problems when playing Decimate Drive you can ask for support in the #support channel on Discord.

Devlog: For sport

As mentioned in the last devlog the release of Decimate Drive is getting closer and closer. So you'll see more posts on what you can expect to be in the game. Like this one! ๐Ÿ˜
Killer cars
The game will include over ten killer cars. Some of them you might have encountered in the playtest or demo. But a bunch of them will be completely new. The sports car is one of them and its speed make it very different from most of the other cars in the game.
Desolate locations
The full game will include over twenty different locations. Thanks to the feedback I got on the playtest and demo I've been able to add lots of improvements to the levels. Things like making it less likely for players to get lost or adding more details to make locations more recognizable.

If you're into game design then you might be interested in the short post I wrote over on Discord (it's in the #sneak-peek channel). I go into some of the design decisions I made and how they worked out.

Thanks for checking out this devlog! Keep an eye out for future posts because I hope to announce the release date soon. ๐ŸŽ‰

Devlog: Out of the shadows

This weeks devlog of Decimate Drive, a game set in a killer car infested city, is about the upcoming release and some late additions.
Release?
At the moment I'm busy with the last couple of bugs, some late additions and offline playtests. This is going pretty well so... if everything goes according to plan... the game will be released in February or March.
Late additions
One of the late additions are battery pickups. They increase the range of the flashlight for a little while. They're totally optional so you won't be searching for batteries all the time with multiple cars chasing you... because I somehow think that would be more frustrating than fun ๐Ÿ˜„

There are a bunch of additions like the batteries which weren't in the playtest or demo. So it'll be really interesting to see how they'll play out!

If you're tracking the development of the game I can imagine the last month or so were a bit boring. Thank you for your patience and I hope we can make the coming months way more interesting ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Quick progress update

This weeks update of Decimate Drive, a game set in a killer car infested city, is about the release plans and latest progress.
The plan
If all goes well, the full release (including a complete story, new game + and a wide range of levels and enemies) of Decimate Drive will be early 2024. At first I had an Early Access release in mind. Because completing the story and adding additional gameplay elements took less time than expected, I have decided to skip it and go straight to a full release.

Despite skipping Early Access, I expect to add more stuff to the game after its release. It's a project I work on in my spare time though. So I don't really know how much time I'll have and what I can pull off. Hopefully things like other story lines, different settings etc. But no promises!
Finishing touches
I'm currently finishing up the last couple of levels, completing the story and, most important of all, hunting for bugs. December is going to be a busy month for me however, so it might be a bit quiet in terms of devlogs and updates. Just know that behind the scenes things are happening ๐Ÿ˜
