Devlog #71 - Keys to Victory

Greetings Talented Gamers!

We're continuing to see an amazing response to the 1.0 release! Although we can't respond to every comment and post, we've loved seeing your broken builds and endless adventures. We're also keeping an eye out for bug reports and feedback as we develop our post-release plan.

This time I want to talk a bit about what will be coming in the 1.1 update (which will be released along side our upcoming DLC).
Key Rebinding
Whether it's for a regional keyboard, accessibility or just because you don't like the keys we chose - we've heard you loud and clear! Talented needs Key Rebinding!

The 1.1 update will allow you to change all of the default bindings to anything you like. This will also have the positive side effect of having somewhere that each of our shortcuts are on show. (shout out to Hold R to restart run)
New Environment
For all of Talented's history there has only been one Demonic Conveyor Belt. We certainly like how it looks, but we can definitely understand how playing 100s or even 1000s of run in the same environment can get old - so we'll be adding support for new Environments in the next update.

This will come with a brand new look available for anyone who has beaten the game on our original 6 Classes. We're experimenting with a few different styles at the moment, so we'll have more information on exactly what it looks like coming in a future Devlog.
Mastery 30
Still hungry for more Challenge?

With the combined release of Endless Mode and our latest balance pass - it seems breaching Night 50 in Endless has become the true test of Talented skill (or luck depending who you ask!). With the 1.1 update we want to try and fold some more of the difficulty cap into the Standard 20 Night run while making sure it doesn't become about executing a perfect Night 1-5.

We'll be experimenting with new rules modifiers that push both combat and strategic skill further. These will come packaged with some balance changes aiming to broaden the number of viable strategies available to each class and deal with some pain points we've heard from your feedback.

On top of everything mentioned above, we will be grouping up some bug fixes and QoL improvements to continue making Talented a better experience for everyone.

Once again, from the whole team, thank you so much for joining us on this journey and...

Stay Talented

Hotfix 1.0.22

 • Fixed an issue where dismissing the Night Complete panel with the Action Button on Gamepad would cause the Hovered Talent on the Talent Tree to be learned.
 • Legendaries that are not discovered in the Talented Compendium will now be prioritised when the Talent Tree is generated to make completing the Compendium less frustrating.

Devlog #70 - A Special Thanks

Greetings Talented Gamers!

1.0 has dropped and we're overwhelmed by how many amazing people have tried out our game, joined the community and gave us amazing feedback.

It has been quite the launch, feedback has generally been positive but we were also hit with some fairly frustrating performance issues including a particularly nasty Endless Mode crash bug. We've already released 3 hotfixes to address the biggest problem causers and will keep an eye out for more feedback.

From everyone at the team, we want to give everyone a huge thanks - both for taking the time to try out the game in the first place, and being patient with our launch issues.

So! Let's talk about what's next for Talented!
A New Update!
Work on our game won't stop just because 1.0 is released. We'll be releasing a 1.1 Update which will include a new feature, some new content and a handful of bug fixes, balance changes and quality of life improvements.

This won't be as large as our Early Access updates, but should give a few good reasons to boot the game back up - including a small collections of new Achievements.

You'll be hearing more about update 1.1 in our next Devlog (which we plan to continue every 2 weeks).
A DLC!
After the extremely positive response of Talented's release, I'm very proud to announce that we have begun early work on an expansion to the game.

We're exploring a lot of different potential ideas for new Core Features which I will reveal in due course but for now I can reveal it will include a brand new 7th Class with a unique way to obtain additional Talents.

As you'd expect this will be paid content, but rest assured there will be absolutely no purchasable power for the existing 6 Classes.

We're aiming to reveal more about the DLC in Spring 2025.
A New Game!?
Finally, the biggest surprise of them all... We're working on a brand new game!

It's very early days but the plan is to keep some of the core elements of Talented and mix in new ideas and inspirations to make something that feels part of the same universe but distinctly new.

We might drop hints here and there but we're hoping to have an announcement before the end of Summer 2025.

Whew! That was quite a lot all in one go. I cannot wait to share more detail about each of these things, and luckily the Devlog will be continuing so I'll get to do exactly that! Until then...

Stay Talented

Hotfix 1.0.21

 • Fixed various issues causing Memory Leak during combat
 • Fixed an issue causing the game to always crash when reaching level 1348
 • Fixed an issue causing experience game to balloon when reaching levels beyond 1000

Note: We believe this is the culprit for the majority of endless mode crashes but will be paying close attention to future reports. Thank you for your patience while we fixed this annoying bug!

Hotfix 1.0.20

 • Fixed various causes of high memory usage and lag on the Talent Tree
 • Fixed an issue allowing Talents to have tooltips in Talent Trees after the first Portal was entered even if they were inside Fog of War

Note: We're paying close attention to reports of Endless Mode crashes but believe some (or hopefully most!) were caused by Talent Tree memory usage. We will investigate further if they continue to be a common problem.
