Devlog #93 - Trials

[p]Welcome Talented Gamers![/p][p][/p][p]It's time for the final devlog of 2025! We're looking forward to everything coming next year, starting with the release of the Beastmaster's Call DLC![/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]Now let's take a look at some Beastmaster Challenges![/p][p][/p]
Challenge Yourself
[p][/p][p]As with Ninja, we'll be introducing a variety of 6 different challenges with Mastery 5, 15 and 25 each unlocking 2.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Unhatched will task you with defending Pet Eggs until the end of a run - protect one and you'll unlock the Beastmaster's Egg skin. Protect all 4 and you'll unlock a special Achievement![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Threat: Glazemite is Beastmaster's boss challenge. Unlike previous boss fight, the Beastmaster will need to take down one of his own pets turned evil. Completing it will unlock the \[Glazemite's Feast] Legendary Talent, allowing it to appear in future runs.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Always a popular addition, Hop to the Top is our Talent Tree Challenge for Beastmaster. In this unique trial you will need to explore a dungeon, making your way to the escape portal at the top. You'll be avoiding traps and collecting gold to spend on consumables in the shop to help you survive longer![/p][p][/p][p]Escaping the dungeon will reward you with the Bunny Skin.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]And of course, as with the other Challenge Skins - completing Gauntlet floors as Beastmaster will allow you to unlock their shiny version.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]And there we have it... We're looking forward to talking more about both Talented and our second game in 2026! Until then...[/p][p][/p][p]Happy Holidays and Stay Talented[/p]

Devlog #92 - Rise and Shine

[p]Greetings Talented Gamers![/p][p][/p][p]We've had an exciting couple of weeks working on the Gauntlet Mode and a brand new rewards system, and we're spilling the beans right here![/p][p][/p][p]If you want to make sure you get access to Gauntlet Mode and everything that comes with it, you can Wishlist the Beastmaster's Call DLC here to be notified when it's released early next year![/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]
The Gauntlet Heats Up
[p][/p][p]No Talented game mode is complete without its own set of difficulty modifiers and Gauntlet comes with 5 additional challenge levels to take on.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Each Gauntlet Level adds its own modifier, and these all stack meaning you'll have 5 extra rules active at the same time when you reach the final stage.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
My Shiny Skins and Me
[p][/p][p]And now for the exciting bit... Gauntlet Mode is your way of unlocking Shiny versions of each of the Challenge Skins![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]That's right, we've added 36 Shiny Skins all unlockable with the Beastmaster's Call DLC by taking on Gauntlet Mode with the difficulty levels active.[/p][p][/p][p]For our original 6 Classes, each difficulty level will grant a Chromogem which can be used to unlock a shiny skin on the Run Setup Screen. For Ninja and Beastmaster you will gain a Chromogem for completing Level 1, 3 and 5. (since there are only 3 skins to make shiny)[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We're looking forward to see who will be first to collect all 36 skins and be crowned the Rainbow King![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]That covers it for this time... Next up is a look at the Beastmaster Challenges and Achievements coming with the new DLC! Until then...[/p][p][/p][p]Stay Talented[/p]

Devlog #91 - Running the Gauntlet

[p]Greetings Talented Gamers![/p][p][/p][p]It's time for another devlog, and this time I wanting to give you a sneek peek of the new Gauntlet Game Mode coming with the Beastmaster's Call DLC.[/p][p][/p][p]You can Wishlist is here so you don't miss it when it's ready:[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]First, I wanted to let you know we've made the difficult decision to delay the DLC until early 2026. While most of the core content is on track to be in place for our planned release date next month. We want to make sure we have the time to refine and polish it to a level we're happy with. Thank you for your patience![/p][p][/p][p]With that said... let's talk about this new mode...[/p][p][/p]
Entering The Gauntlet
[p][/p][p]Gauntlet Mode is designed with shorter play sessions in mind. It changes both how your build you character and how the enemies appear and evolve as the run goes on.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Instead of waiting until the end of the Night, whenever you Level Up you will instantly be given a choice of 3 Talents. The rarities increase the higher level you are and, on average, you'll be accessing high rarity Talents earlier in the Gauntlet than other modes.[/p][p][/p][p]You'll also be able to reroll, giving you access to a fresh choice of 3 Talents. Every run will begin with 3 free rerolls, but you'll be able to access more through Consumables (we'll talk about those shortly).[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The second big change coming with Gauntlet Mode is permanent health. In this mode, your health will not fully restore at the end of each Night. That being said, all classes will be starting the run with a much bigger health pool. [/p][p][/p][p]This makes you much less likely to be taken out by a handful of enemies hitting you in a few seconds but makes taking chip damage each night a bigger concern.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]You might be wondering how enemies become more threatening... This is where the Talent Tree gets involved.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]In Gauntlet Mode the skill tree acts as your path between combat encounters. Meanwhile, the tree is covered in Challenge Badges that enhance enemies. You must carefully choose which bonuses enemies get access to as you ascend the tree with the goal of getting to the very top where you take on one final Night and (hopefully) win the run![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Enemy boosting Badges have their own rarity scale starting at Warm and moving all the way up to Inferno. There are also enemy synergies to avoid or chase if you're looking for a particularly hard challenge![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]But fear not... Enemy upgrades aren't the only thing on the tree, they will also be the way you access our new Consumables.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]These items are single use and give you an instant bonus. Traversing the tree carefully to gain access to consumables you need without collecting a bunch of unwanted Difficulty Badge combinations will be the key to your success.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]There's lots to explore with Gauntlet Mode, we've only just scratched the surface! Next time we'll be going over the different difficulty options and how you can unlock a boatload of Shiny Skins! Until then...[/p][p][/p][p]Stay Talented[/p]

Devlog #90 - Under the Hood

[p]Hello Talented Gamers![/p][p][/p][p]Just in case you missed it, we had a big announcement in our last devlog... Talented is getting a second DLC complete with evolving Pets, a new Game Mode and tons of Shiny Skins![/p][p][/p][p]You can Wishlist is here in preparation for release later this year:[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]Now for a deep dive into how the new Beastmaster Class works...[/p][p][/p]
Choosing your Pets
[p][/p][p]Beastmaster has access to a selection of 8 different Pets, each with 5 levels of evolution. Up to 4 Pets can be added to your team each run, resulting in a huge number of combinations.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Each Pet has its own unique Pet Ability that can be activated in the same way as Class Abilities are for other Classes.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Pets stand atop one of four platforms and regularly attack the nearest enemy to the player, they cannot take damage so they'll always be ready to fight by your side... but be aware, each Pet has their own strength and weaknesses so it will be important to look out for synergies to make the most of what you have.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Ashtail is a good example. While his Attack Speed and Crit Chance are the highest amongst all of the Pets, after a number of Basic Attacks he turns to dust and will not attack until he's been given time to resurrect.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]One Pet that might give Ashtail the time he needs is Yuni - although her Basic Attacks might not be the strongest, her rotating laser attack is perfect for clearing the screen in an emergency situation.[/p][p][/p]
Caring for your Pets
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The Pet Sanctuary is the main way you expand your team and evolve your pets. Additional pets can be added to your team when the Beastmaster reaches levels 20, 50 and 100 whereas pets that are already on your team can be evolved at any time.[/p][p][/p][p]Will you focus on evolving a single pet to the maximum level possible? Or creating a full team as quickly as you can?[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]In order to evolve your pets, you must either feed them treats or play with them using toys. Both can be obtained from \[Pet Supplies] Talents on the tree.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Whenever you enter a Sanctuary, pets have a chance to become Hungry or Bored - these will double the experience granted by Treats or Toys respectively, so be on the lookout for those![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Evolving your Pets will allow you to choose an upgrade for them, ranging from Common to Legendary at the maximum Pet Level. With each Pet having 15 Talents unique to them, there's plenty of synergies and build options to discover.[/p][p][/p]
Beastmaster's Talents and More
[p][/p][p]While the main focus for Beastmaster is on his Pets, he still has his own pool of Talents to discover on the Talent Tree.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Toss Talents encourage the use of Pet Abilities, applying useful Status Effects and becoming a steady source of additional damage in the late game when all Pet Slots are filled.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]If you can boost your Attack Speed high enough, you can make good use of the Bolts Talents, these pair especially well with anything that give you access to extra shots...[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]You'll notice that Hero's Blessing is a Pet Ability... Sir Nibbles is unique amongst Beastmaster's Pet arsenal as he is focussed on supporting the Beastmaster and Pets other than himself![/p][p][/p][p]Finally there's everything else you'd expect from a Talented Class including Portals, Relics for Waves Mode. There's even a Mythic Talent, but we'll let you discover that one on release day![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]That might just be our longest Devlog yet... Thank you to everyone who made it to the end! Next time will be the reveal of the new Gauntlet Game Mode, so stay tuned for that and...[/p][p][/p][p]Stay Talented[/p]
