Ghoul Smash Demo

The Ghoul Smash Demo is now available to play! Alongside this demo comes some new features added to the hub.

Demo

The Ghoul Smash Demo allows you to play up to the Bone Golem boss in Act 1, access tier 2 Items and Equipment, Rare-drop Table, Three Classes and Tier 1 of the Essence Forge.
The demo will receive minor updates and changes that happen to the main game. If you want to enjoy the game on full-release please wish list and join the discord to get updates on Ghoul Smash Development.

Additions

[h2]Ranger[/h2]
[h3]Windrunner Keystone[/h3]
  • Your Damage is increased by 100% of your Speed.
  • Your Pierce is increased by 50% of your Speed.
  • You can gain twice the amount of Speedboosts per turn.
  • When you Dodge, you restore Constitution equal to twice your Dexterity and gain 20% Damage Reduction until the beginning of the next round. (Does not stack)


[h2]Hub[/h2]
[h3]Lost Treasures[/h3]
The Urwood now has an update that allows you to have a treasure box inside the hub. The treasure box functions similarly to the loot menu except you can access it at any time.
You have two toggleable options that allow you to automatically skip the loot screen and automatically salvage items.

[h3]Transmogrification[/h3]
You can now upgrade the Crafting Bench to transmogrify your items. This feature is still in development and will likely be modified in the future.

[h2]Misc[/h2]
  • Enemies have been given more friction to make them less bouncy.
  • Adjusted the density of the Player, making them by default 33% more dense.
  • Adjusted the scaling of Speed when launching. It is more consistent the denser the player is.
  • Adjusted the amount of density the player gains at higher Damage Reduction values.

[h3]Aetherflux[/h3]
  • Added the Aetherflux to the Hub
  • Aetherflux allows for allocating Skillpoints into your respective class.
  • Changes color depending on which class you currently are.

[h3]The Urwood[/h3]
  • Added an upgrade that doubles the drop rate of Atlas Fragments.
  • Added an upgrade that allows you to buy Skillpoints with Salvage.
  • Removed the Max Level Upgrade

  • The items offered by It That Bargains now have a low chance of becoming Charms.

The Warrior, Wizard, and Ranger have skill trees that have been added to the game. Currently each skill tree has 2 keystones you can select. You can find the skill trees at the Aetherflux in the hub. You can change class at The Urwood.

[h3]Frail[/h3]
  • An enemy inflicted with frail takes 20% (x1.2) more damage after reductions until the start of the next round.

[h3]Wound[/h3]
  • Wound is a stacking debuff that can be applied to enemies. Wound deals B Scaling damage multiplied by the amount of Wound stacks.
  • An enemy loses 30% of their Wound stacks each round.

[h3]Root[/h3]
  • Root prevents the next instance of movement from an enemy. Can prevent melee attacks.

[h2]Graphics[/h2]
  • Particle Effects have been added for Bone and Mechanical Enemies.


Changes

[h2]The Eternal Battleground[/h2]
  • Enemy Dodge Scaling per Atlas Tier is now 0.25% (Previously 0.5%)
  • Salvage gained per encounter is now multiplied by the number of waves.
  • Confluence Orbs can drop up to 3 on a material drop.
  • Essence drop amount is now doubled.
  • Atlas Fragment Drop Rate has decreased to 5%. (Previously 12%)
  • The maximum Atlas Tier is now 1,000. (Previously 50)

[h2]The Urwood[/h2]
  • The Atlas Crucible Upgrade now costs 100,000 Salvage.

[h2]Essence Forge[/h2]
  • Adjusted the Pricing of Tier 2 Rewards

[h2]It That Bargains[/h2]
  • Removed the Deity Fruit from the shop table.
  • Deity Fruit will become an achievement reward later.

[h3]Stab[/h3]
  • Now has a 25% chance to inflict a Wound.
  • Dagger on kill now has a 100% chance to inflict a Wound.
  • Speedboost on kill is now 0.5 (Previously 0.25)

[h3]Parry[/h3]
  • Parry now has a visual effect when active around the Player.
  • Parry now lowers Damage Reduction by 50% (Previously 80%)

[h3]Lionspine[/h3]
  • Now is an 8% chance to poison. (Previously 12)
  • Now costs 2 Spirit (Previously 1).

[h2]Combat[/h2]
  • Bumpers are now bouncier even when disabled.
  • Opening a chest now gives a Speedboost.
  • Chests are now bouncier.

[h2]Items & Equipment[/h2]
All existing affected Items and Equipment will require a Confluence Orb to update them to the new values.
  • Defense Ring now has Barrier (12)
  • Vitality Ring now has 80 Constitution (Previously 60)
  • Royal Rat Ring Adjusted
  • Occult Armor now has more Barrier.

[h2]Attributes[/h2]
  • Strength no longer gives Damage Reduction.
  • Dexterity no longer gives Dodge.
  • Intelligence no longer gives % Barrier.
  • Dexterity now gives 1 Speed per 5 Dexterity. (Previously 3)
  • Intelligence now gives 1 Spirit per 5 Intelligence. (Previously 3)
  • Strength now gives 2 Constitution per 1 Strength (Previously 1)

[h2]Miscellaneous[/h2]
  • Barrels now scale with the area's tier instead of the player's Level.
  • Poison now deals 2-5% of total Constitution damage to Enemies at the start of their turn. (Previously 5-10%).
  • Stun now has a visual indicator.
  • The Rare Drop Table chance on kill is now 1 in 2,000. (Previously 1 in 500)
  • Save Data is now backed up on each launch. (A new launch will overwrite the current backup)


Fixes

[h2]User Interface[/h2]
  • Adjusted the Fullscreen Toggle button. The Button now properly restores the correct windowed resolution when deselected and centers the game accordingly.
  • Ghoul Smash will now automatically start in Fullscreen if Steam's Big Picture Mode is enabled.
  • Fixed a small bug with the Atlas Crucible Button.
  • Added and fixed a lot of existing and new tooltips.

  • Fixed a bug where Skills hitting barrels wouldn't give items.
  • Fixed a bug where Skills couldn’t hit more than one time.
  • Fixed a bug where the Hit Cooldown wouldn’t trigger properly.

Changes
  • Skills will now save their toggled status upon closing the game.


Fixes
  • Changed Royal Boots Speed value to be 12. (Previously 120). Using a Confluence Orb on an existing pair of Royal Boots will update them to the intended value.


Additions
  • Added a Steam Button to the Main Menu and Options Menu that takes you to the Ghoul Smash Store Page.
  • Added Tips to the Interslice Hub. You can toggle them off inside the Options Menu.
  • Hitting Spacebar while in most menus will now close the menu. This functionality has been added for future controller support.
  • Early Controller Support, you can test it out by booting Ghoul Smash in Big Picture mode and using default controller support through steam.

    Turns the first enemy you collide with into a Bash Target and yourself into a bounce pad. The bash target gains damage each time it collides with another object. Damage is dealt to the Bash Target at the end of your turn.

  • The Bone Gauntlet has been introduced as an Atlas Fragment Drop.
  • The Bone Gauntlet is a challenging 8-wave encounter that can challenge highly geared players. Beware in Hardcore mode.
  • The Bone Gauntlet features 2 new items and skills.
