Ghoul Smash v14 Revision 3

  • Fixed a bug causing some skills not to trigger.
  • Slightly adjusted the sprite, name, and description on some items.
  • Adjusted how buffs are added, hopefully this won't have dramatic consequences.

Ghoul Smash v14

Combat Interface
  • Loot Drops, Materials, and Atlas Cores will now display their sprites upon dropping instead of text, enhancing clarity during combat.


Enemy Changes

[h3]Enemy Rarity Scaling[/h3]
Adjusted the damage output of monsters based on rarity:
  • Magic (Blue Outline): 1.5x (previously 2x)
  • Rare (Yellow Outline): 2x (previously 3x)
  • Astral (Purple Outline): 3x (previously 5x)


Eternal Battleground
  • The display for the Eternal Battleground has been completely revamped. You can now select specific encounters and adjust their difficulty.
  • Atlas Fragments have been removed; you can now access former Atlas Fragment encounters using Atlas Cores found within the Eternal Battleground.


Atlas Crucible Changes
  • Atlas Fragments will no longer drop.
  • The Crucible Screen has been removed.
  • Arena: Renamed to Colosseum and downgraded to a T4 encounter.
  • Galleon: Renamed to Frigate and upgraded to a T11 encounter.


Mini-Boss Adjustments
  • Mini-Bosses are now area-specific, ensuring that each area will consistently spawn the same Mini-Boss. The goal is to assign a unique Mini-Boss to each base area.
  • Added 3 New Mini-Bosses, each dropping a unique item, located in the Ocean, Bastille, and Highway areas of the Eternal Battleground.
  • Shield Golem Mini-Boss: Spawns in the Scrap Heap
  • Dragon Mini-Boss: Spawns in Elemental Plane (Temporary)
  • Reaper Mini-Boss: Spawns in Cemetery
  • Wurm Behemoth Mini-Boss: Spawns in Dredge Pit
  • Minotaur Mini-Boss: Spawns in Cave (Temporary)
  • Cyclops Mini-Boss: Spawns in Isles (Temporary)


Urwood Updates
  • The Atlas Crucible Upgrade now unlocks areas in the Eternal Battleground.
  • The Atlas Crucible Droprate Upgrade increases the chance of Atlas Core drops.


Skill Changes
  • True Cleave: Now requires 200 Strength for the additional effect (previously 150).
  • True Arrow: Now requires 200 Dexterity for the additional effect (previously 150).
  • True Magic Missile: Now requires 200 Intelligence for the additional effect (previously 150).


Bug Fixes
  • The Infinite Void Skill is now properly disabled when the full Ethereal Set is not equipped.
  • The Molten Golem’s second enrage phase now triggers at the correct health threshold.
  • Volatile Whetstone now accurately indicates when a weapon is unmodifiable.

Ghoul Smash Launches into Early Access on September 26th

I am excited to announce that Ghoul Smash will be entering Steam's Early Access on Thursday, September 26th!

Ghoul Smash is a small solo project I work on when I have the time, and it combines what I believe to be the best parts of similar titles. Ghoul Smash will leave Early Access within a year from this release.

Ghoul Smash v13

General Balance

The recent defense update, which reduced enemy damage, has improved combat stability in Ghoul Smash. To further benefit players, the pool of health is being increased.
  • Players now gain +10 Constitution per level (previously 6).
  • At level 50, this results in an additional 200 Constitution.


Damage Affixes

Hybrid affixes have been removed, but flat damage affixes have been significantly buffed.
Example: The Tier 6 affix "Ruinous" now grants 12 (previously 8) - 24 (previously 16) damage.

Atlas

[h2]Crucible[/h2]
  • New Atlas Fragment: Relic Chamber
  • This Atlas Fragment is a puzzle map that will kill you on failure. It introduces five new items.

[h3]Volcano[/h3]
  • Molten Golem's total health has been reduced by 12.5%, from 2,000,000 to 1,750,000.

[h3]Shadowfell[/h3]
  • Raven Queen's total health has been reduced by 10%, from 1,000,000 to 900,000.


Aetherflux

[h2]Bloodletter[/h2]
  • Now has the following effect: You take 20% less damage (after reductions) from enemies affected by Wound.


It That Bargains
  • Visual effects have been slightly adjusted.
  • Dialogue has been removed.
  • The number of buying and selling slots has been increased to 12 (previously 5).
  • Added a help tooltip.


Sister of Concordance
  • The cost of an item has been reduced. It now costs between 10% - 30% (previously 40% - 90%) of current Salvage. The minimum cost remains 100,000 Salvage.


Crafting

[h2]Infused Whetstone[/h2]
  • Increases a weapon's damage by 60% (previously 75%) and grants 12 to Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence (previously increased existing attributes by 75%).


Bug Fixes

[h2]Fury[/h2]
  • No longer has a 150% chance to launch a slicing wave when killing an enemy. It now correctly follows the intended 25% chance.

[h2]Loadouts[/h2]
  • Swapping loadouts while the vanity interface is open will no longer cause a crash.
  • Swapping a loadout will now update skills properly.


Saves

Saves made before revision 11 will no longer be supported after this patch. Any save file that hasn't been launched since revision 11 will be deleted when revision 14 is released, due to the removal of legacy code.
