Ancient Wonders Update!

Ancient Wonders Update!

In today’s update we added Wonders to the game. Wonders are special buildings for your city, you can only have one of each, that provide a unique ability. Each Wonder has a special quest that needs to be completed to unlock the blueprint. We also added an achievement for unlocking each one.

The Giving Tree: This Wonder provides the players city with a constant source of Wood, no workers or planes needed! The quest to unlock it can be found at Litalos, after the player lifts the siege blocking the city.

The Scales of Aelius: Once the player builds this Wonder in their city they never have to worry about tilt. No matter how uneven the weight in your city is distributed The Scales of Aelius will always keep you in perfect balance. This quest can be found in the city of Nassab, once you have helped liberate it.

The Great Orrery: This Wonder allows the player to immediately see all points of interest on the map, regardless of how much they have explored. Having trouble finding every quest location or settlement? The Great Orrery provides all the answers! The quest to unlock this quest is given at The Watchfort, once the player has helped them rebuild the city.

The Divine Reliquary: This Wonder houses 1 Relic and that Relic's power will impact the entire city, rather than being limited by the range of the Minaret it is placed in. This one is super powerful and can really be helpful in lots of different situations. The quest to unlock this one can be found at Sainte Verde in The Blackspine.

Quality of Life Update - v0.2.20

We've listened to a lot of player feedback concerning the UI! So here are a bunch of Quality of Life features for navigating the game and UI. We wanted to include some of those features at Early Access launch but weren't able to do it in time so here it is!
Here are some highlights for some of the most requested features:
• Add buttons next to Recently Destroyed Building bullets to show location of destroyed building and to rebuild destroyed building if possible
 • Add buttons next to Worker UI bullets to Dismiss all workers, Fully Staff buildings and Select Building (same as clicking the bullet itself)
 • Allow setting Destination Buoy directly from the Map by right clicking (right click was previously for setting map marker)
Here's a list of other features in this update
• Organize Worker UI bullets by building category to more easily find buildings
 • Keep People UI bullet even if no workers are working on that building type
 • Allow setting map marker in map by left clicking (previously was right click)
 • Show quest rewards in the quest info panel
 • Show red marker in Compass for current quest
 • Make Map Marker and text in map contrast better
 • Scale icons when zoomed out beyond a certain threshold to make icons more visible when zoomed out
 • Save Map Marker so it keeps its position when loading save game
 • Correctly highlight next quest location in map when previous one completes
 • Add Legend in Map to more clearly communicate the purpose of some icons to the player
 • Go back to the same camera rotation when coming out of ground city/settlement interaction UI
 • Prevent camera from going into settlement UI when player has recruited all workers from settlement.
 • Don't show Freezing Immunity on non freezable buildings
 • Move lift required text with the rest of the stats in the selected Building UI
 • Make backing of most panels more opaque so text is more readable
 • Hide Update Feed when Research Tree or Map are shown
 • Keep update feed items much longer
 • Make some building descriptions more detailed
 • Updated some side quest dialogues
Bug fixes
• Fixed home base looping around for nothing sometimes (again!)
 • Fixed only some affected buildings being highlighted when selecting minaret or workshop in very large cities
 • Fixed "No Relic" button not always at the end of the relics list in the Relic Panel UI
 • Fixed bug when selecting road in really big cities sometimes
 • Fixed bug where some buttons would remain highlighted after being clicked
 • Fixed bug where recently destroyed buildings would still be saved and loaded incorrectly
 • Fixed light customization showing up on Flame Shrine even though there is no light

Patch Notes v0.2.19

 • Fix Cape Wallace tavern not showing new hires
 • Fix missing strings for new morale buildings
 • Fix trailing comma on some numbers in the UI in some languages
 • Use correct style for all dropdowns in settings
 • Fix some achievements not tracking if they were previously completed

Spring Update! - New Spring Theme Pack and Easy Difficulty

The Steam Spring Sale is here and we’ve got a new update for Airborne Empire! We’ve got a few fun things for you in this one:

Spring Theme Pack: A new Theme Pack that allows you to add Spring themed decorations to your buildings. Cherry blossom trees, hidden Easter Eggs (literally), and some fun spring character balloons! To apply new themes just select your Town Center and open the customization panel.

We’ve also added a couple of new Morale buildings to the game.

First up is the Shrine Flame. This shrine will boost your cities morale score without the need for any workers, just a little bit of Coal each hour to keep that flame burning.

The other new morale building is the Park. This building provides Morale with no workers, and instead just uses a little bit of Water.

Lastly, we added an Easy difficulty mode. We had gotten some feedback that there were some players who just wanted to focus on the city building and story and have less aggressive combat. So we setup a mode where the enemy damage is dialed way back. We still have plans for a Hard difficulty mode but that ones takes a little more time to get right, so stay tuned!

Alright, that's it for this one. We’re already cooking up another fun update for April, we’ll update the Roadmap on our Discord and Steam Forums soon.

Hope you enjoy!
