Tyr November ’25 Newsletter: Ranked Playtest, Reveal Trailer, and More

Welcome to the November 2025 edition of the Tyr Monthly Newsletter. Today, we’ll dig into the details for our upcoming playtest (featuring a new Ranked mode!), re-share the official reveal trailer for Tyr, discuss our upcoming studio break, and more.

Let’s begin.
Tyr’s next playtest is scheduled for December 6th, 2025
We already have next month's playtest set and scheduled, and we're doing something a bit different. We're rolling out our ranked system for testing, and it will require having two vehicles at max level to ensure an even playing field. Make sure you prepare ahead of time. Don’t worry, you’ll have time to get there.

The next Tyr playtest will begin Saturday, December 6th, at 12pm PT.

We will run in Standard queues for the first two hours. Between boosted experience gains and extra drops from in-game rewards, this is a great chance for you to get at least two tanks up to level 20.

At 2:00 PM PT, we will switch the queue over to Ranked and run for two more hours. The devs will be playing and streaming on Discord if you can't play ranked quite yet but want to watch.

This is a four-hour playtest, our longest to date.
A note about playtest frequency
We’ve been quietly playtesting Tyr on a monthly basis for more than two years. With the release of our reveal trailer (see below), we’ve moved from playtesting with a small, stable community to playtesting with a rapidly growing community. That growing community wants to playtest Tyr more often, which is incredible.

As our pool of playtesters gets larger, we’re looking to increase the frequency and length of our playtest sessions. While we don’t have anything to announce yet regarding the playtest cadence, we wanted to share that we’ll likely have news on this soon.
We released a reveal trailer
As for that reveal trailer? Here it is.

That trailer’s driven a lot of players into our community, and we’d love it if you took a moment to share it with some friends so we can keep building this game into something special.
Highlights from our social feeds
We’ve made it a habit to regularly post short videos (of the fun and more serious variety) to our social feeds. Here are some recent highlights.

That's it for this month's newsletter. Thanks for being here, and we'll see you on the battlefield. 🫡

Tyr October '25 Newsletter: Teaser, Private Playtest, and Dev Team Battles

[p]Welcome to the first monthly newsletter for all things Tyr. In this feature, we'll round up recent Tyr news, talk about a bit of what's to come, and share the last month's moments from the community and our various social platforms.[/p]
We need playtesters; are you in?
[p]If you don't already know, we're building Tyr with the help of a private playtest community. We've been playing the game on a monthly basis with these dedicated playtesters for two years now, and it's grown a lot in that time.[/p][p]But we need your help. We firmly believe that making Tyr the best it can be requires that we share the game as early and often as possible with a group of players who can get their hands on it as we make updates and changes.[/p][p][/p][p]You can join our private playtest community at https://stoke.firstlook.gg. We play the game monthly right now, but we'll expand the window and increase the frequency as our community grows.[/p]
Did you catch the teaser trailer yet?
[p]We released a 20-second teaser trailer for Tyr earlier this month. Here it is.[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]In this trailer, we have a quiet moment of stealth sniping on a map we're currently calling Fields. Our Drone tank lies in wait as our Stealth bike — a hover vehicle — makes the mistake of venturing into the open without a plan. The Drone takes its shot, and the trailer ends on impact.[/p][p]We love the cinematic old western vibe, and we hope the close-up of heat pouring off the back of the Drone tank gave you as much viewing pleasure as it did us.[/p][p]By the way, we'll have a new, longer reveal trailer very, very soon. 👀[/p]
Making enemies of the rest of the dev team
[p]In addition to the teaser trailer and content on our Steam page itself, we've shared some recent moments from our internal playtests with our community. We playtest Tyr every day, and that means there are lots of clip-worthy opportunities.[/p][p]The bad news? Posting moments where my teammates die like these paints a pretty big target on my back.[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]That's it for the October Newsletter for Tyr.[/p][p]Keep your eyes peeled for an update from us early in November. Until this, be sure to join the playtest and Wishlist Tyr here on Steam.[/p][p]Join the Playtest[/p][p]🫡[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]

Join the private Tyr playtest
Playtesters wanted
[p]It's part of our mission at Stoke to build games around player feedback, which means we must test, gather insights, and iterate continuously as we move through development. Playtesters make that possible.[/p][p]We've been quietly playtesting Tyr with a small, private group of dedicated players for over a year now. They were with us in the very beginning as one low-poly rectangle shot a ball at another low-poly rectangle. They're still here, but we need more feedback and more players to support our growing, invite-only community. [/p]
Join the playtest community here
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]To join the Tyr beta playtest, sign up at https://stoke.firstlook.gg. Once there, you’ll connect your Steam and Discord accounts. We utilize each to give you access to the playtest client on Steam and ensure you can access the private playtest channels on our Discord.[/p][p]We add playtesters on a rolling basis, and we’ll admit more and more as our community grows and Tyr is refined. Once you’re in, you’ll have access to invites for friends that will instantly grant them a spot in the playtest community.[/p][p]Thank you for being here.[/p]
