Happy Holidays from team Skogdal

HO HO HO!



Hi, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

Just a quick update from us here in team Skogdal before the holidays kick in:
We are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel, but we still have a few months of development left (I think maybe April might be a likely candidate). It will also be very interesting to see when Slay the Spire 2 releases into Early Access, will definitely want to stay clear of that!

We are starting to wrap up all the different cards we will have in the game, I think we will have more than 300 different cards in total!

And finally, we STILL have more locations after all these have been added, the map sure is huge! Remember every location is unique and hand-drawn (I do think my brother is actually insane)!

Skogdal joins the Steam Next Fest

Hello everyone!

Our musician went over-the-top with a guitar solo, so we just had to make a video for it (he's a veteran death metal musician among many other things)



It's been a couple of months since last update post. Worry not, we are hard at work with the game, there's going to be a lot of content in the final game!!! Here's a few teasers for new cards and mechanics we are working on:







I had a baby at the end of summer, so busy times have become even more busy, luckily the baby fully understands that I also have another baby to divide my attention to: Skogdal.

We are part of the Steam Next Fest starting today! This will be very exciting for us, an important event to try gather wishlist and interest for our game. Leading up to the event, we have also worked with a group of streamers and content creators in trying out our game and streaming it, we are very happy how those turned out, you can check out a few youtube highlights from them yourselves:

Demo Update 06. June 2024

Hello Skogdal, has been a while since the last update (time is moving slower out here in this rustic small town).

We got a lot of fixes and improvements for the demo, so let's get right to it:
  • Improved tooltips, now the tooltip text boxes appears above cards, instead of the old (quick fix) of having them appear in the corner, this feels much better, looks more polished and makes the game much more readable, getting the information where the cards are.
  • Improvements to various aspect ratios, ensuring the game looks better at various non-standard aspect ratios.
  • Updated the final location background image (my brother notified me that this should be a big picture ;) all the more details to study whatever is going on there...)
  • Updated some drafts to only include "object" cards, for example in the Trash draft, as it doesn't (necessarily) make sense to find a Follower, or a "Annoying Whistle" in the trash can. Same with some characters who now only let's you draft "cool moves".
  • Renamed "Get" to "Create" new cards, there was some confusion on a few edge cases, especially what counts as getting cards vs. drawing cards, and now it should be more clear on what effects "Create" new cards for a fight.
  • Various minor fixes and game balancing: Arm Wrestler has a ceiling to how much Strength he gives, Girl in Wheelchair was missing sound effects, renamed "Bonus Damage" to "Temporary Strength" (and also in case there will be some cross synergy there in the future), various text updates, "Joker" card now only improves "Rage" and does it better, improved "Tobacco" (but remember smoking is bad) and tweaked Scooter girl enemy, a bit more difficult now.

Demo Patch 08. April 2024

  • Adjustments and changes to some fights (small changes to Scooter Girl Fight to potentially be more interesting?)
  • Updated reinforcement enemies to not do actions on the same turn they are arriving.


Will bring a few more updates to the demo a bit later, like hint at fights having reinforcements, and some improvements to texts and explanations.
