Update Notes For v0.48.01

Balance can be challenging at times with some players desiring a chill experience while others are seeking mental punishment from playing (admittedly, I fall into the latter group). This update introduces a difficulty settings screen to cater for both playstyles.

 • Relaxed is closer to the past two weeks' difficulty
 • Tough is closer to the first week of launch's difficulty
 • Normal is in between, with the aim of being close to the sweet spot where equal numbers of players find it too easy and too hard

You can also tweak the settings mid-game using the new button on the top dashboard. No need to start a new game if you've grown attached to your characters!

Also check out the difference in inflation indexes when playing on Relaxed difficulty:

Compared to playing on Challenge difficulty:

You really don't want to be in the wrong industry at the wrong time on Challenge mode!
Version 0.48.01
• Added difficulty settings screen for new game setup
 • Added button to modify existing game difficulty settings
 • Decreased decay rate for lots of bad potential statuses
 • Increased birthday status change cost multiplier from 1.1 to 1.25
 • Reduced preference effect of Exercising for some activities and status effects
 • Added negative Sleeping preference for Endorphin Rush and Dopamine Rush
 • Fixed Yoga Classes giving XP:Fitness instead of XP:Yoga
 • Fixed mouse not scaling on main menu with screen size

Update Note For v0.47.04

You will now be able to hire services to handle some household tasks.

A nanny will provide babies with the presence of an adult. A home chef will do the Cook Food activity.

With some modification, I've been able to leverage the existing auto actions decision-making process to implement this feature. This means the services calculate a desire value and have the same requirements as your characters to perform their tasks. For example a home chef can't cook if your household is missing an oven and will inform you of this problem.

These services come at a price (which fluctuates with inflation, as usual) so you'll have to consider whether the time savings are worth it for your particular circumstances.

On a separate note, I've moved a bunch of tutorials into permanent help buttons that you can access at any time on the relevant windows. It makes a lot more sense this way since you might not be interested in certain features until hours into a game!
