Demo update Version 0.003 - I do speak Português, I can speak Ingles

You told us you didn’t like the font and we listened. Our new custom-made non-pixelated font is now available for your eyeball comfort.

For comparison, this is the old font:

And this is the new one:

Much easier to read, don’t you think? What was that? English is not your language? Worry not, we've got you covered. We have 2 new fully supported fonts for
 • Portuguese (PT-BR)
 • Spanish (ES)

The game also has the option for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean but those are still in the works and are not optimized, so you might find them hard to read or out of place (or even just not working) in some places.

Talking of optimizing, we carry on improving the game's performance. We have upgraded the game engine, so you will see that the game is much smoother when you move and does not stutter like it did in some of the busier map areas.

And since you can move so well, now you can hunt for more items all over the map. We have reduced the size of items that are in boxes, chests, bushes… well, basically everywhere.

Thanks, Dylan for this great meme and you should check out his energetic playthrough of our demo.

This adds a bit more realistic perspective as it made no sense for berries to be as big as you. Also, stop stealing all the berries. The berry farmer is after you.

Another thing you all asked for was to understand better what kind of damage was being done in the battles. And it makes sense if we are building a strategic battle system. So now the damage is colour-coded, and has a written label identifying what kind it is and its source. Prettier and efficient.

Our desert now has 2 new types of traps
 • Sawblades
 • Quicksand (an area where you can’t jump)

Give them a try and let us know what you think

That’s it for now. There were some bugs that you reported which also got fixed, but if you find any more please let us know in our community hub as we want to build this game with you.

We are continuously working on the game and hope to bring you full support for Chinese, Japanese and Korean very soon, as well as the so-desired PVP.

Keep an eye on our socials, as we will be giving some sneak peeks into the dungeons and evolution.

About the game Portal Fantasy offers two different play styles: hero and architect. As a Hero, you can explore different worlds, befriend monsters, raise them, and make them fight. The Architect is then responsible for creating maps with tilesets that support the adventures of the Heroes.

Demo update Version 0.002 - Auto login, new desert, and Groobeet breakdancing

Oh man, so many new cool things. Ok, ok, let us focus here.
Auto login
First things first. Full Steam auto-login. No more messy inserting emails or logging in using your gamer fingers. Those will be reserved for your journey through the world of Portal Fantasy.
If this is your first time in the demo, you will see a screen asking you to choose your game name (the name that the other players will see you as in the world).
Valeria
Thanks to all the feedback from you guys and the lovely content creators who have been streaming us, we have made several 'quality of life' improvements. Some examples are:
 • Pointing out the healing fountain after the tutorial battle (we know many missed it)
 • Jeejee now moves to point out which door you can go through to choose your first porble.
 • Teakka quest has been expanded so it is clearer where you can find them.
 • Now when you start typing to chat with the other players, a speech bubble appears above your head.

And the best improvement of all... Groobeet now breakdances. What do you mean you never saw a turtle-like creature breakdancing? Well go and check them out for yourself then.
Desert
The whole map layout was improved. New look, new critters (you can find some scorpions and lizards moving around), and more spikes. Because everyone needs more spikes.

Even if you have played this map before, you will find it hard to recognise now. And on top of it all, a brand new quest. But be careful, for your choices will matter in this quest.
Bugs
Lots of them were fixed, thanks to you guys reporting them. But many still need fixing. If you think you've found a bug, please report it to us via the Steam community hub or via our discord.
Also, those bushes that turn into oysters – that is not a bug...it's... errrr.... the heat? Magic? Yes, magical heat.

Create worlds for others to explore in creature capturing RPG Portal Fantasy

I adore creature collecting games and Portal Fantasy looks and sounds like it could be quite an interesting spin on the genre, with you creating worlds for people to explore.

The Portals are open: Our Demo is now available

We hope that you are as excited as us, that you can finally jump in and get to try a bit of the magic of what is to come.

Because we know it's more fun to try things by yourself than read about them we will avoid spoilers and only mention here the highlights of what is available for you in the demo

 • The first 4 maps for you to explore (the full version will have 20+)
 • The beginning of the main quest and some side quests
 • 13 out of the 100+ Porbles are there to be battled and captured by you
 • Wild Porbles and baddies battles for you to show off your battle strategy skills
 • Traps and puzzles to overcome
 • Lots of NPCs and critters living in the world.
 • Multiplayer chat

Keep in mind that this is just the first version of our demo and we plan to keep updating it regularly until the full version is released. As such there are things that are not yet available in the demo. We will keep doing update logs to let you know of any new features.

Things not (yet) available

 • The Fusion system (but you can already visit the fusion lab)
 • Architect Mode
 • PVP mode
 • Translations in other languages. We are currently working on improving all the non-English fonts, so the dialogues are all in English. You can have some UI items in other languages but they will be far from optimized.

That's it. Hope to see you over in the game and we hope to get some of your feedback as it is invaluable as we shape this epic tale together.
