Patch 0.752 Bulk Purchase + Critical Bug Fixes

[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]Patch 0.752 introduces a new quality-of-life feature: bulk purchasing in shops.[/p][p][/p][p]Previously, in the shopping menu, each click on an item added only a single unit to the cart. This was tedious if a player wanted to buy larger quantities—like 20 of the same item. With bulk purchase, holding Shift while clicking will now add 10 items at a time to the cart.[/p][p][/p][p]This patch also fixes two critical bugs:[/p]
  1. [p]When talking with a character, clicking too quickly could cause the conversation to get stuck and the game to freeze.[/p]
  2. [p]When loading a game or starting a new day, the player could get locked in place and had to press extra buttons to regain control.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Finally, a few minor fixes were made for the Simplified Chinese language version:[/p]
  • [p]Minor Fix: Removed incorrect tooltip when opening the map that hinted players could click on it.[/p]
  • [p]Minor Fix: Localized additional text into Simplified Chinese.[/p]
  • [p]Minor Fix: Fixed incorrect control icon display during tutorials in the Simplified Chinese version.[/p]
[p]More improvements and fixes are coming tomorrow![/p]

Patch 0.751 Fire Travel Quest Fix

[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]Today’s patch (0.751) is a small bug-fix update, mainly focused on addressing the issue where players were unable to complete the Fire Travel quest.[/p][p][/p][p]If a player hired a special character too early, it could break story progression, preventing the abandoned inn from appearing on the map. In the last patch, I added a safeguard to stop this from happening. With this patch, the game will now also detect if your save file is already stuck and attempt to repair it automatically.[/p][p][/p][p]This patch also fixes a bug introduced in a recent update where, after upgrading the inn, the task display would error out and fail to show correctly.[/p][p][/p][p]I’ll continue working on reported issues—thank you all so much for your patience and support![/p]

Patch 0.75 Emergency Fix

[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p]In the last patch (0.749), I mistakenly carried over the demo’s progression locks into the Early Access version. This prevented many players from advancing the story.[/p][p][/p][p]I sincerely apologize for this mistake and for the frustration it has caused![/p][p][/p][p]Patch 0.75 fixes this issue. When you load your save file, the game will automatically detect and remove the locks. Missing events will also be restored so you can continue the story.[/p][p][/p][p]From now on, the Early Access version will also accept save files from the demo. When loading them, the game will remove the demo locks and restore missing events, allowing you to continue seamlessly.[/p][p][/p][p]Finally, the game now prevents players from hiring a certain special character too early, as doing so could also block story progression.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you so much for your patience and understanding![/p]

State Of The Game

[p]STATE OF THE GAME: [/p][p][/p][p]Hi Magic Innkeepers![/p][p][/p][p]I am Arutha the Community Director for Magic Inn. I have been working closely with the development team to provide you some updates on where the game is at, and where we plan on going.[/p][p][/p][p]So first off, thank you so much to everyone who has tried our game and provided helpful feedback! As you all know we launched with more bugs than expected, and the development team has been hard at working at squashing all of them!!! [/p][p][/p][p]1.0 What we have been doing since Early Access Release.[/p][p]
Our team has been doing what any good development team does after releasing....LISTENING TO YOU!:)[/p][p]That's right we have working tirelessly to take your feedback, and use it to make the game better.[/p]
  1. [p]We have made major adjustments to the controls of the game both for PC and Steam Deck. [/p]
  2. [p]Squashing A LOT of critical and minor bugs that our awesome Early Access players have taken the time to bring to our attention! Thank you so much to every player who has given us this valuable feedback![/p]
  3. [p]We have majorly revamped the camera controls to make our game an even better experience for those who have motion sickness![/p]
  4. [p]Controller support in general has been greatly advanced. We now fully support controllers in both PC and Steam Deck.[/p]
  5. [p]New decoration are IN!! Check out the plushy toy merchant in Act 2, you won't want to miss it![/p]
  6. [p]As mentioned before we have made control adjustments on Steam Deck but also additional changes to make Magic Inn FULLY COMPATIBLE with Steam Deck. We have some minor changes to make to get our fully coveted green check mark from Steam for it, but rest assured, we will get it!![/p]
  7. [p]We now have full Steam Cloud Saves enabled! Feel free to play on PC or Steam Deck and your saves will now by synced and usable from either device.[/p]
[p][/p][p]2.0 Where is the game headed next!?? What is coming!?[/p][p][/p]
  1. [p]We will continue to monitor and fix bugs along the way, we take our duty seriously! Plus we have exterminators on speed dial.... [/p]
  2. [p]The game will have 3 Acts, and right now only 20% of Act 2 is currently present. We intended to complete Act 2 by the end of 2025. This is a tentative estimate, as we must allow for...well anything to happen. But that is our current goal.[/p]
  3. [p]We will be planning on expanding our inventory of decorations as we go along building out Act 2 and Act 3, so expect many more of these to come![/p]
  4. [p]We will be constantly reviewing all three Acts for any necessary Quality of Life improvements we feel are necessary based on player feedback.[/p]
  5. [p]Honestly to a large extent, what happens next is largely up to our players. We will be inviting player feedback on the future Acts and content of this game and taking it and making it a reality. So please feel free to help us decide what happens next! More on this will be coming out over the future weeks.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Conclusion:[/p][p][/p][p]Myself, Xiao, and Summer all wish to once again thank each and every person who has made Magic Inn their home, and even more gratitude to those who have taken the time to provide feedback! Anyone who wants to contribute with their feedback please reach out to us on the Magic Inn discord! Patch 0.749 Full Controller Support, Steam Deck Support and Steam Cloud

[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p]With Patch 0.749, Magic Inn now has full controller support and is fully playable on the Steam Deck! In addition, Steam Cloud saves are now supported![/p][p]Notes:[/p]
  • [p]Players on Steam Deck may experience crashes when visiting the market at night. As a temporary workaround, please go to Settings → Graphics and turn off Fog. I’ll continue working on performance optimizations.[/p]
  • [p]With the current Steam Cloud configuration, different Steam accounts on the same computer will share the same save files.[/p]
[p]This patch also includes two critical crash fixes—one during inn decoration and another when opening a chest with a controller.[/p][p]Next, I’ll focus on fixing more bugs, including staff AI issues, as well as adding quality-of-life features like manual saves and bulk purchases.[/p][p]In our Discord, players have also provided great feedback on some plot issues, which I’ll be improving soon. More updates are coming, and a huge thanks to our playtesters in Discord for helping us find and report these bugs![/p][p]Summary of this patch:[/p]
