Dino Path Trail Demo Live at Steam Next Fest!

After more than 3 years of development, we’re thrilled to announce that Dino Path Trail is live at Steam Next Fest with a brand-new demo!
Y’all have been tearing through the Wild West (with dinosaurs, of course), and thanks to your feedback, we’re dropping another big ol’ patch to make your journey smoother, fairer, and a bit less... buggy.

Here’s what’s new, what’s fixed, and what’s been wrangled into submission:
[h2]🛠️ Major Fixes:[/h2]
- Perfect Dodge Rework: Now smoother, better, and actually worth mastering!
- Throwables Now Have Manual Aiming! No more “oops, I meant to throw it over there!” moments. Time to git gud with your dynamite tosses.
- Status Immunities Are Now, Well... Immune! Blessings that were supposed to prevent certain status effects will now actually do so.
- A Fairer Expedition Map: Travel map generation has been tweaked to make routes more fair and better for planning. Less RNG frustration, more strategic choices!
- Modded Weapons & Smelting: Smelting a modded weapon will now return the base weapon along with the mods, instead of just eating everything into oblivion.
- Stat Recap Added! You can now see a breakdown of your stat modifiers in your backpack, including Damage, Health, Speed, Defense, Evasion, and Regeneration. Some of them are still wildly inaccurate, but we’re working on that.
- Boss Fight Map Performance Boost: We heavily optimized the boss fight map, making it run way better. (Still working on a few things, though!)
- Difficulty Curve Adjustments: Rebalanced to keep things challenging but fair.
- Less Empty Maps, More Resources: We reduced the vast emptiness of certain areas and rebalanced resource distribution to make exploration feel better.
[h2]🐛 Minor Fixes & Tweaks:[/h2]
- Time Keeps on Slippin’… But Not Anymore! Run duration will now STOP when the game is paused. No more losing precious seconds while taking a snack break!
- Guns 101: The first time you pick up a rifle or shotgun, a set of slides will now pop up to explain how to use it. No more accidental “I thought this was a melee weapon” moments!
- Camp Expansions Actually Cost Money Now! Yeah, turns out Little Thump wasn’t charging for building expansions. He was just being way too generous. That’s been fixed.
- Storage Box Crafting Works Correctly! Crafting with materials inside the storage box will now actually consume them. No more infinite resource magic tricks!
- Weapon Mods Won’t Freeze the Game Anymore! Applying a mod at the shop will now actually work instead of freezing time itself.
- More Egg Shrines! Special zones now spawn at a better rate. Go hatch those dino babies!
- No More Duplicate Revolvers! Fixed a bug in the second tutorial map that was handing out extra revolvers like party favors.
- Auto Equip Weapons & Throwables: Newly picked-up weapons and throwables will now auto-equip whenever possible. No more digging through menus mid-combat!
- Better Diary Sorting: Uncraftable elements now stay at the bottom, where they belong.
- Shooting Through Walls? Not Anymore. You wish you had wall hacks, but we fixed a bug that let you shoot through some obstacles when standing too close.
- Slot Deletion Dialog Fix: Now works as intended. No more menu weirdness.
- Backpack Duplication Exploit Fixed: You can no longer cheat your way into extra inventory slots by picking up the same backpack multiple times. Nice try, though.
- Smelting Improvements: Non-modded weapons now properly return materials, and you can smelt equipped items without unequipping them first. Oh, and warnings will let you know if you're about to melt something important!
- Unlock Messages for New Gear: Weapons, gear, mods, and throwables now pop up an unlock notification, just like tools do.
- End Run Recap Improvements: Skipping the animation won’t throw you into a loading screen anymore, so you can actually see your results.
- Base Camp UI Upgrade: Worktables now show an icon if you have enough materials to build them. Also, expansions now preview their next upgrade benefits.
- Caravan Requirement Added: The Caravan is now needed for other worktables. Plan accordingly!
- Status Stack Recap Added! Along with stats, you’ll now see a summary of your current status effects and what they do. Hover over them for details!
- Crafting QoL Improvements: Removing items from the craft list properly updates the materials list now and holding the craft button will proceed to craft the selected item. No more unnecessary clicking!
- Weapon Stat Bars Are (Mostly) Fixed! Accuracy has been improved, but we're still fine-tuning the numbers.
- Egg Offering UI Upgrade: Slots now show the egg’s name, so you don’t have to be a paleontologist to remember which one is which.
- Muddy Butch Fight Rework: Attack patterns have been adjusted to create better attack windows.
- Gamepad Navigation Improvements: UI navigation is smoother and more responsive now.
- Item Dropping Tweaks: Items can now be dropped by holding X (keyboard) or the west button (controller).
- Storage Box Improvements: It's now easier and more intuitive to equip attachments and to move stacks between your backpack and storage.
