Update #3: Fixes, Balance & Tweaks

[/p][p]We’re back with our third regular update since launch - another step toward making your run through Dino Path Trail smoother, tougher, and more balanced.[/p][p]A big thanks to all the users that are reporting bugs and giving us feedback! Especially, thanks to Trampoflix for all the bug reporting! ːccheartː[/p][p][/p][p]Bug Fixes[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that was preventing Trails Unlocks from spawning in some maps that had 2 connections[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that allowed players to access the weapon wheel while their map was open, resulting in unintended behaviors[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that would cause the tutorial to get stuck under specific circumstances[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that would cause Ptero-who-sees to completely disappear when changing phases[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that was causing some effects of the challenge mode to be added multiple times when changing maps[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that was causing weapons to disappear after being crafted from scratch or upgraded[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that was causing Players to go into negative numbers when losing money[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue that was causing dino coins to not be removed from the player when upgrading the basecamp and then closing the game[/p]
[p]Balance[/p]
  • [p]Improved Dino Ghost spawn timings to be more clear and allow a bigger window for the player to dodge out of the way[/p]
  • [p]Challenge mode lightning strikes now won't be able to target the player while in enclosed spaces (Caves, Farms, etc)[/p]
  • [p]Challenge mode lightning strikes will now be foreshadowed by Ptero-who-sees laughter[/p]
  • [p]Defeating Ptero-who-sees now completely stops the lightning strikes from happening[/p]
[p]Additions[/p]
  • [p]Added Achievements for beating challenge modes (Stage 3, 6 and 9)[/p]

Major Update - New Meta Progression And More

[p][/p][h3]Howdy, Gunslingers![/h3][p]The number one thing you asked for is finally in the game. And it’s a big deal. Like, T-Rex-sized.[/p][p]Meta progression has stomped into Dino Path Trail and it’s changing everything. From now on, every run helps you grow. Win or lose, you’ll walk away stronger, with permanent rewards that unlock tools, upgrades, shortcuts, and cool stuff back at the Hub.[/p][p]Frustrated by starting from scratch after every defeat? Not anymore. This system makes bouncing back way smoother. You’ll kick off new runs with better gear, more options, and a real sense of progress.[/p][p]With tons of long-term goals to chase, this update adds a big dose of strategy and replayability. Ready to see what’s new?[/p][p][/p][h3]🛠️ Hub Upgrades and Permanent Unlocks[/h3]
  • [p]Tool System Overhaul
    Tools can now be permanently unlocked in the Hub. Start runs with your favorite gear and jump right into the action. Stone shovel? Child’s play. Let’s get serious.[/p]
  • [p]Base Camp Construction
    Use Dino Coins to unlock and upgrade your crafting tables. Skip the slow stuff and go straight for the spicy builds.[/p]
[h3]🏕️ Hub Growth Systems[/h3]
  • [p]Buff Gate Upgrades
    More choices, more rerolls, and more ways to start strong. The Buff Gate just got buffed.[/p]
  • [p]Scavenger Stands
    She's back, she’s loud, and now she’s selling your old loot. Expand her market and grab powerful gear from past runs at a discount.[/p]
[h3]💀 Bounty Hunter System[/h3]
  • [p]Difficulty, Your Way
    Take on tougher challenges with escalating difficulty levels and juicy rewards. Finish a run to unlock the next tier and keep climbing.[/p]
  • [p]Custom Modifiers
    Every level adds new twists. Hungry faster? Ghost dinos? Random lightning? Oh yes. It’s chaos and it’s glorious.[/p]
  • [p]High Risk, High Reward
    Crank up the pain and earn extra Dino Coins while you're at it. Get serious or go extinct.[/p]
[h3]🗺️ Quality of Life and Balance Changes[/h3]
  • [p]Source Icons added to the minimap so you can find what you need without wandering like a lost raptor.[/p]
  • [p]Increased FoV on the minimap for better visibility and planning.[/p]
  • [p]Maps are now slightly smaller to cut down on running and ramp up the action.[/p]
  • [p]Day cycle is longer, so there’s more time to explore before the sun goes down.[/p]
  • [p]Fewer enemies spawn in each map, making things feel less like a mob rush and more like a survival challenge.[/p]
  • [p]Difficulty now ramps up faster, keeping the pressure high and rewarding efficient players.[/p]

We’re back with our second update since launch - and it’s another step toward making your journey through Dino Path Trail smoother, meaner, and fairer.

Massive thanks to everyone who’s been playing, surviving, breaking the game, and telling us about it. We seriously read everything - and your feedback has been a huge driver for this patch.

[h2]🛠️ Here’s what’s changed in this update:

  • Fixed UIs of buttons, hints, tutorial, and quests that had overlapping text
  • Lowered Raptors family evasion chance
  • Added more explanatory descriptions to statuses, dinosaur blessings, and explosives
  • Changed “Stun” status to remove evasion
  • Changed “Slow” status to decrease evasion instead of decreasing the drawing and shooting speed of weapons
  • Panacea now correctly removes all Debuffs
  • Increased time needed for bounty hunters to spawn
  • The following mods will now work on all shots:
    - Explosive Bullets
    - Hunter Bullets
    - Penetrating Bullets
    - Ricocheting Bullets
    - Thunder Bullets
    - Fragmenting Bullets
  • Fixed a bug that would make the second boss disappear and never reappear
  • Fixed a bug that was preventing users from moving after being stunned
  • Fixed a bug that would block users using the controller from exiting menus under certain circumstances
  • Fixed a bug on Questlog not showing/hiding properly.
  • Fixed a bug that would prevent users from completing quests taken from Grim Claws during exploration
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Grim Claws gather materials quest from showing the current progress.
  • Fixed a bug that was locking the boss entrance sequences while reloading a weapon
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the loading screen music from fading out under certain circumstances

Huge thanks to everyone who's been playing, dying, surviving, and sharing feedback on the full release of Dino Path Trail. We read everything, and every report helps us make the game better. Today we’re rolling out our first patch - a solid batch of bug fixes, tweaks, and polish to make your survival smoother, nastier (for the dinos), and just a little more fair (for you… most of the time) 🦖

[h2]🛠️ Here’s what’s changed in this update:
[/h2]
  • The following achievements are now properly unlockable: First Steps, Poison for Everybody, Lucky Cowgirl, Fire and Flames, Blood Everywhere, Bulletproof vest!, The Old Team.
  • Removed a bug that allowed you to craft higher-tier items without having built the required worktable level.
  • Removed a bug that would cause players to spawn in the first exploration map without weapons/throwables.
  • The game is now warning you when it is saving. You will also be warned when quitting the game.
    (We are also working on a possible way to allow you to manually save in the exploration maps and regenerate them in one of the future updates)
  • Added an option to easily switch display from the Graphics Settings.
  • Fixed a bug that was allowing you to die in the tutorial using explosives.
  • Fixed a bug that was affecting your max health negatively when leaving the tutorial map and starting your first run.
  • Bounty Hunter and Scavenger are now properly triggering their services when you build their homes in the hub.
    (They will also give you an introductory dialogue where they explain what they do)
  • Fixed a visual bug related to the Bug Report tool not closing properly.
  • Fixed a bug that was allowing you to craft and possess more than 1 mod of the same type, which was consuming your materials and sending the crafted mod into oblivion.
    (This bug was probably also related to weapons upgrades doing the same, but we are still tracking this bug)
  • Fixed the items acquired notification getting stuck on the left of the screen in some situations.
  • Interacting too soon with the chest to pick the mod in the tutorial is no longer possible and will prevent you from getting stuck there.
  • Fixed a bug that was spawning only the scavenger in NPC tiles.
  • Fixed the second part of the tutorial to properly trigger combat music.
  • Fixed a bug that was not visually updating the bounty after moving to a new map.
  • Lowered prices of shops inside and outside run.
  • Decreased “Slow” status effect on the drawing and shooting speed of weapons.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the smelter to smelt the wrong amount of items.
  • Fixed a bug that caused items to be consumed twice when using a two handed weapon.
  • Increased the delay between money floating texts.
  • Fixed a bug that was preventing the loading screen to disappear at the end of the loading process.

We’re currently working on a patch to fix the most commonly reported bugs. It’ll be available very soon, and we appreciate your patience and reports.

After that, we are preparing another update that will let you rebind your controls and unlock permanent upgrades between runs. These are two features that many of you have asked for, and we’re excited to bring them to the game.
