How to Participate in Our Beta Tests

This is an announcement to guide you on how to participate in our beta tests. We conduct beta tests to gather feedback and performance issues prior to the official update. If you participate, you can give feedback through the beta test channel on our official Discord server. We will take all of your feedback into consideration.


The beta version and the standard version of Garden of Witches share the same save files, so after playing the beta, your save file may not load properly in the standard version. We highly recommend you to back up your save file before playing the beta.

How to back up your save data:

1. Press the shortcut keys [WIN + R] or right-click the Windows Start button and select Run.
   
2. Enter: %AppData%\..\LocalLow\Team Tapas\Garden of Witches\Steam\
3. Click OK.
   
4. Open the folder named with your Steam account ID.
   
5. Copy the save data file to a separate location for backup.
   

Unless a critical or unexpected error occurs, your progress in the beta version will be preserved when the official update is released. However, please make sure to back up your save data using the steps previously explained before participating in the beta test, just in case.

The beta version is available through the Steam client. Follow the steps below to participate:

1. Open the Steam client -> Go to your Library -> Right-click Garden of Witches
2. Select [Properties…]
3. In the properties window, click on the [Betas] tab.
   
4. Enter the beta access key: 000000000000 (twelve zeroes)
   
5. Click [Check Code].
   
6. In the Beta Participation dropdown, select beta from the list.
   
7. Close the window and launch the game.
   

Unless a critical or unexpected error occurs, your progress in the beta version will be preserved when the official update is released. However, please make sure to back up your save data using the steps previously explained before participating in the beta test, just in case.

1. Open the Steam client -> Go to your Library -> Right-click Garden of Witches
2. Select [Properties…]
3. In the properties window, click on the [Betas] tab.
   
4. In the Beta Participation dropdown, select None from the list.
   
5. Close the window and launch the game.
   

Important: When returning to the standard version of the game, make sure to overwrite your current save data with the backup you made earlier before continuing the game.
