Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch News

Dear Tacticians,

With Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch being our second game within the franchise, we felt that we’ve built rapport and a great relationship with our fanbase. We wanted to share more regarding the game and our plans for the future by hosting an “Ask Me Anything” with our very own Creative Director, Jinsang Kim! Our Narrative Designer, Brandon, will also be available to answer any questions you have regarding the story or narrative!

[h3]This AMA will take place within our Discord server on October 3rd, 5PM PT or 8PM ET for 2 hours.[/h3]

We also understand that not everyone will be able to make it during this time, so we have opened up a channel (#ama-questions) within our Discord server, where you can ask any questions leading up to our AMA session. We will ask some of these questions during the session, as well as take any new ones live.

We also would like to host a giveaway during our AMA session, where we will be giving away 3 keys for Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch (keys will be shared when we release the game on Early Access). You will be considered if you participate in our AMA session, whether that is asking questions beforehand, or participating live!

Today, we’re excited to announce that Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch is participating in Steam’s Turn-based RPG Fest. As a studio that loves turn-based RPGs, Ocean Drive Studio is thrilled to prepare a demo of Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch in celebration of Steam hosting the Turn-based RPG Fest!

We look forward to hearing feedback from all the turn-based RPG lovers out there when the event starts September 30!

Our Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch development team, who are also passionate fans of turn-based RPGs, has shared the following messages for fellow turn-based RPG enthusiasts:

This year has been full of new feats, for both our team and Ashe’s crew. For us, we went to our first-ever Gamescom and then forged onward to Seattle for PAX West; for the game, it has been in closed beta and public demo, with Early Access coming in the near future.

The unprecedented triple expedition for us will soon be completed, with the demo closing at 3PM PT today (September 3rd). If you played the demo but haven’t filled out the feedback survey, please do so here, as it will remain open for only a few more days. We are deeply grateful for all the feedback, both from new players as well as those who played the game before (including previous PAX events). We can never emphasize and thank you enough on how your feedback shapes our game.

For PAX, we also brought some goodies to share with you, per our tradition! This time it was a canvas tote with our studio logo. Instead of trying to remember all 3 game titles, you can just search for us (Ocean Drive Studio) to find all 3 games… and some more ;)


While our triple expedition ended, we are far from being done. We will be working hard to take your feedback, implement them in the game, and bring back a more exciting journey for you with Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch!

Hello!

This is Jin Sang Kim, Creative Director of Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch.
We’re very excited to be able to showcase the game’s demo version, almost a year after its initial reveal at PAX West 2023.

Veil of the Witch began with a vision: to create a unique type of turn-based RPG, incorporating and addressing player feedback from our first project, Lost Eidolons. We built on the solid foundation of the combat system, which most players loved, and refined our approach to storytelling (which many found lacking) within the context of a new, looping roguelite structure.

Over the past several months, we’ve held a flurry of company-wide internal tests, friends-and-family tests, and a small closed beta. We’ve listened extremely carefully to player feedback and implemented a ton of improvements at every step of the process – whether that feedback was reinforcing things we already knew, or pointing out things we either hadn’t thought of or didn’t consider a priority. We take it all seriously, and have done our absolute best to present you, our players, with a great game we can feel proud of.

Now we’re running our first large-scale public demo as we prepare for the Early Access release later this year. This will be our final such playtest prior to Early Access.
We look forward to hearing your thoughts and using your feedback to improve the game even further.
