The release date

Hi!

Instead of a regular update, I have great news for you: We are finally working on version 1.0! Yes! We have scheduled the Early Access completion and release for June 19, 2025!

And what's in store for you? With the release, we'll be adding two new maps - Britannia, a large map of the British Isles, and Crisis of Byzantium, a map of southeastern Europe with a slice of northern Africa.

After the big map of the British Isles, you've probably written the most, there's not much to add. The Byzantine Campaign takes us back to the wild days of the great Byzantine Empire's struggle against its savage neighbours, who were attacking Byzantium from all sides.

With the new maps will also come three new factions, two in the British Isles and one in Eastern Europe. Which ones these are we'll leave as a surprise for you.

But don't worry, even after the final version is released we have more plans for the game and plenty of ideas for improvements.

Yours
Rake in Grass..

Update 0.92

Hello friends!

We're preparing new content for the final version of the game, which needs a lot of testing, but we've taken the time to do a smaller update that brings a few changes to the GUI design, gameplay and most importantly the AI behaviour on the map.

News in the patch:
  • Added a battle progress bar at the top of the screen and slightly changed gui design.
  • Archer range increased by 25%.
  • Improved AI city defence system.
  • The new AI also uses turrets for defence.
  • AI can raise the level of provinces.
  • AI can buy upgrades.
  • Added their own cultures to the West Franks (Frankish), Asturias (Asturian) and the Byzantine Empire (Byzantine).
  • Lots of minor tweaks and fixes.

Update 0.8.5

Our friends!

We've got another update for you under the number 0.8.5. Besides Steam achievement support, it mainly brings improvements suggested by the community - for example, the ability to merge incomplete units
or faction-dependent images of generals. Ejoy the changes! And while you can try it out, we're already working on new improvements ;)

New in 0.8.5:

- Added Steam achievements!
- In the campaign selection, the game offers the possibility to randomly generate the strength of factions (which provinces it owns) and even randomly place factions on the map.
- Added basic gamepad support.
- The most of factions have own portrait of the generals.
- Now you can have more VIPs on your Governor list. You can scroll with the list.
- If there is no military garrison in the invaded country, a quick battle is always triggered.
- Corrected result of a battle when there is no garrison in the invaded province.
- You can only try to take over a kingdom by asking for the hand of the monarch's daughter once per round (and sure you cannot have another wife! :)
- Joining units - if you select one unit in a province and then right click on another unit of a similar type (e.g. infantry to infantry, cavalry to cavalry, etc.), you can transfer soldiers from that unit to the unit already selected.
- Modified actions Alliance, Land purchase and Land acquisition.

Thank you for any feedback! If you'd like to stay in touch with us more, you can find us on Discord, for example, or just drop us a line here on the Steam forums.

Update 0.8.4

Hi!

The new update is here and with it a bunch of major and minor improvements. The major news is a new map of the attractive struggle between the Christian and Muslim empires for control of the Iberian Peninsula. A gameplay-interesting change is the addition of a system of generals - prominent commanders who bring bonuses to units in battles.

We hope you like our improvements. Don't forget to give us feedback. The development of the game is nearing completion and we hope to have the game out of Early Access soon (still weeks or months). But don't worry, we plan to keep working on the game even after the full game is released. There are plenty of plans! :)

News in 0.8.4:
  • New large map of Reconquista - the struggle between Christians and Muslims for control of the Iberian Peninsula.
  • Added generals. During the course of the game, a Unit Commander can promote to General. This unit then receives bonuses to defense and attack, and sometimes other bonuses applied to other units on the field.
  • After the battle there is a chance that one of the unit commanders will become a general. In battles with superior numbers, the odds are higher.
  • Added one new background and tree tileset into battles.
  • Constantinople now has city walls at the start of the game!
  • The enemy faction no longer offers to buy your province.
  • Fixed a bug where the AI increases the number of units in an army beyond the limit (for saved positions, units are kept but no longer increased).
  • Adjusted country efficiency (when a country is small, efficiency is higher, with size it gradually decreases due to bureaucracy and empire size).
  • Added short chapters on kingdom effectiveness and generals to the handbook.
  • The small plus icons under the army and building buttons indicate that there is a vacant building position in the city.
  • Market now produce +5 food per turn.
  • Single battles are always fought in tactical mode.
  • Dozens of minor tweaks such as adjusting the game's economy, AI, etc.

Update 0.82

Hi! A minor update, but one that brought some interesting fixes mostly thanks to player feedbacks!

What's new?

  • German localization added!
  • You can now return from faction selection to campaign selection when you start the game.
  • In Options, you can turn off computer move tracking.
  • Now you can open the ingame menu while moving the computer by pressing the Escape key.
  • Rebellious provinces can secede from kingdoms - both the enemy's and yours.
  • Very slow speed button added to battle.
  • Invention Co-participation added to research - the province pays 10% of the cost of the military, but the public order is reduced by 10%.
  • Slightly adjusted (mostly increased) resources at game start.
  • Battle challenges now have one constant weather for each map.
  • Slightly modified AI behaviour in the later part of the game (e.g. more chances to attack).
  • A few minor changes and improvements.

And we'rlready working on more improvements and new content!
