Update 1.1.0

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Hello conquerors![/p][p]I didn't have much time for the update due to fall orchad work and work on the Bellfortis DLC, but I got quite a bit done in the end.[/p][p]The small map (with a small number of provinces) was a success in the last update. Ironically, even though there are maps in Bellfortis with more than 100 provinces, I originally planned the game for maps of 25-40 provinces. And it goes to show that smaller maps are, at least for some players, fun. So in this update I added a map of Europe with only 45 territories. But the reduction of provinces is quite difficult and probably historians would have comments on the map, but the gameplay is the most important and hopefully it will work! :)[/p][p]I also had to redo the map selection. There started to be a lot of maps, so now you can find them in three categories.[/p][p]Among the other modifications (list below) I'll point out the modification of combat. It ended up being bigger than I thought and I'll probably have to tweak a few things according to your feedbacks but hopefully the combat will be a bit better again.. unless I made some bugs in it. :) The game is getting pretty complex and it's almost impossible to test all the nuances. Please leave a message if something doesn't work or the opposite of what you like![/p][p]Oh, and I've added the ability to run a map where each faction will only have one province to start with. You've been asking for this for a long time too.[/p][p]
What's new in 1.1.0?
[/p]
  • [p]After the success of the small English map, a new small map of Europe with 45 territories has been added for those who prefer maps with fewer provinces.[/p]
  • [p]In the scenario selection, maps are now classified under their group according to their content. These are now Europe (large pan-European maps), England (island maps) and local conflicts, where all other maps fall.[/p]
  • [p]When starting the game, you can choose to have each faction own only one province at the start (long desired feature :)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug with the Scholar character where it would appear without any bonuses.[/p]
  • [p]Adjusted map zooms, they are now tailored to each map individually.[/p]
  • [p]Added a button to show the mood of your provinces on the map from green (great) to red (very bad) coloring.[/p]
  • [p]For Viking starts, the catapult is no longer set as a general. It's heavy infantry now.[/p]
  • [p]The prices in the shop change dynamically. If you sell, they gradually decrease and vice versa. After a while, they try to get back to their original state.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed unit movement in battle where units started acting weird and trying to get somewhere other than where their enemy was.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed intermittent looping of battle sounds.[/p]
  • [p]Nobility will no longer demand trading rights with the faction you are at war with.[/p]
  • [p]And a few minor fixes.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Thank you all for your support![/p][p][/p]

Update 1.0.5 (2)

Quick update ;)

  • If a unit is in a panic and on the run, its attack is drastically reduced and the enemy has a better chance of killing the unit's soldiers.
  • Holding left CTRL and right-clicking on a unit's icon in the Army window will automatically disband it.
  • The probability of the ruler's wife death is greatly reduced on large maps.
  • Fixed a bug where recruited units were showing in reverse order and were also getting deleted incorrectly.
  • Added basic province traits in Defender of the Kingdom map.
  • Fixed Sherwood province appearing 2x in Defender of the Kingdom map.
  • Ministers in the council have their loyalty increased much faster. Appointments can be used to increase loyalty faster.

Update 1.0.5

[p]
Hello friends, the update 1.0.5 is out!
[/p][p]I hope you enjoyed your summer. I was more busy than I wanted to be, but at least I can release a new update. It brings a new compact map. I've combined your two requests into this one map - a very small map with only a few provinces and then a port of the great old strategy Defender of the Crown, one of several games that inspired Bellfortis. Unfortunately I can't do that one, of course, but the new map is at least inspired by this game. Aside from that, I'm bringing a few changes and improvements to it, also based on your feedbacks.[/p][p]
So what's new in 1.0.5?[/p]
  • [p]New Defender of the Kingdom map with only 20 provinces.[/p]
  • [p]New Outlaws faction for Defender of the Kingdom map.[/p]
  • [p]Governor's loyalty increases or decreases depending on the level of the province and the current mood in the city.[/p]
  • [p]Governor Loyalty increases when there are more than 5 military units in a province. If there is none, it may decrease slightly.[/p]
  • [p]If the province defends itself against an attack, the governor's loyalty will increase if there is a governor.[/p]
  • [p]If a player attacks another faction without declaring war, the other factions may respond by changing relations.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the Untrustworthy trait.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed Dismounted Knights icon and inclusion (in some factions they were mistakenly listed as an archery unit).[/p]
  • [p]Battle AI: If an enemy has a larger number of archers or catapults, they are more likely to attack with them first with a ranged attack.[/p]
  • [p]Clouds reacting to the mouse cursor are back! 🙂[/p]
  • [p]Level 1 and 2 provinces are less likely to build defenses.[/p]
  • [p]Increased the range of defensive towers by 25%. Oh, you're not going to like this! 🙂[/p]
  • [p]If you want to trigger a positive political action and your ruler has the Trustworthy trait, your chance to success increases by 5%. But if you have the Untrustworthy trait, your chance decreases by 10%.[/p]
  • [p]Added the new map Defender of the Kingdom to the Demo version.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Thank you all for your support and feedback. And if you like the game, please don't forget to share a review![/p][p] Pavel, Rake in Grass..[/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Update 1.0.4

[p][/p][p]Hello friends![/p][p][/p][p]The new update 1.0.4 is out! It's a smaller update, it mainly improves gameplay and fixes some bugs, but I wanted to release it because I want to work on bigger changes that will take a longer time (advertised modding support and new DLC). Also, I need to rest now ːsteamboredː, after two and a half years of developing the game I need a vacation, so you won't hear much from me until the end of August.[/p][p][/p][p]What's new in 1.0.4?[/p]
  • [p]Fixed two newly reported crashes.[/p]
  • [p]Modified AI behavior - in the later stages of the game and in war, it behaves more aggressively and even more peaceful factions try to build armies. Need more feedback from you to make it better![/p]
  • [p]Modified AI behavior - rewritted decision-making on construction.[/p]
  • [p]Adjusted chances of some political actions (like peace, etc.)[/p]
  • [p]On higher difficulties, the initial chance of success of an action is lowered (by 10 % on hard and 15 % on very hard).[/p]
  • [p]If the AI is at war with the player, the AI tries to build an army faster in provinces adjacent to the player.[/p]
  • [p]Added option to disable killing soldiers with archers of own army to settings.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed some minor issues.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Thank you all for your support and feedback! It is important to make the game better. I'll be waiting for new reports to see if the AI aggressiveness you've often written about has increased.[/p][p][/p]

Update 1.0.3

[p][/p][p]Hello friends![/p][p][/p][p]The new update 1.0.3 is out now and brings more than 20 changes including the first version of the game editor.[/p][p]To start the editor, enable the editor in Options and then use F1 to start the editor in the game (after starting a new scenario). It still needs a lot of work (for example, it crashes if you try to load a map in it that you haven't saved before and therefore doesn't exist), it's not perfect, and most importantly, it will need at least a basic manual, but I'm going to write one with modding support. It is not supported yet and the only way how to run the new map is to open it in the editor. The files are saved in the Documents/Bellfortis directory.[/p][p]Once modding is supported, you'll also be able to change the map image, theoretically add factions and units and such, though it will need more work.[/p][p][/p][p]New in the update:[/p]
  • [p]Added a test version of the scenario editor. Missing manual, but it will come with the modfing support probably in the next update.[/p]
  • [p]Chinese localization[/p]
  • [p]Fixed 3 types of crashes. Thanks to everyone for reporting them![/p]
  • [p]Added button to delete saved game.[/p]
  • [p]If you have higher than 50% espionage (must have Master Spy action or intrigue bonuses), the chance to intrigue is +10%.[/p]
  • [p]Reduced the cost on Master Spy from 50 an 20 prestige.[/p]
  • [p]Music on the map and in battles is not repeated, it changes randomly.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue with the attacking catapult running out of ammo. If the catapult runs out of ammo now it doesn't attack, it stands still and tries to retreat when enemies are close.[/p]
  • [p]Modified Europe in War alternative map - added Jerusalem province.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed West Frankish unit Freres Gueries.[/p]
  • [p]For sieges, the SPACE key can be used to fire a catapult.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed bad movement of Dismounted Knights units in all factions.[/p]
  • [p]Adjusted the "Show location" buttons - pressing them closes the main menu, the camera will pan to the province, after a while the main menu will turn on again.[/p]
  • [p]In Legends, Taltos were able to control the weather. In the game they can't be hit by lightning.[/p]
  • [p]In battle, the defending AI can engage even if you're outnumbered.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed Alliance action.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed province or kingdom acquisition action when multiple major provinces appeared.[/p]
  • [p]Rebels show local culture.[/p]
  • [p]Increased some time limits and adjusted the requirements of nobles in their quests.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed tooltips in the menus.[/p]
  • [p]Reduced speed Varju Horse Archers[/p]
  • [p]And a lot of minor fixes.[/p]
