Update 1.0.3

[p][/p][p]Hello friends![/p][p][/p][p]The new update 1.0.3 is out now and brings more than 20 changes including the first version of the game editor.[/p][p]To start the editor, enable the editor in Options and then use F1 to start the editor in the game (after starting a new scenario). It still needs a lot of work (for example, it crashes if you try to load a map in it that you haven't saved before and therefore doesn't exist), it's not perfect, and most importantly, it will need at least a basic manual, but I'm going to write one with modding support. It is not supported yet and the only way how to run the new map is to open it in the editor. The files are saved in the Documents/Bellfortis directory.[/p][p]Once modding is supported, you'll also be able to change the map image, theoretically add factions and units and such, though it will need more work.[/p][p][/p][p]New in the update:[/p]
  • [p]Added a test version of the scenario editor. Missing manual, but it will come with the modfing support probably in the next update.[/p]
  • [p]Chinese localization[/p]
  • [p]Fixed 3 types of crashes. Thanks to everyone for reporting them![/p]
  • [p]Added button to delete saved game.[/p]
  • [p]If you have higher than 50% espionage (must have Master Spy action or intrigue bonuses), the chance to intrigue is +10%.[/p]
  • [p]Reduced the cost on Master Spy from 50 an 20 prestige.[/p]
  • [p]Music on the map and in battles is not repeated, it changes randomly.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue with the attacking catapult running out of ammo. If the catapult runs out of ammo now it doesn't attack, it stands still and tries to retreat when enemies are close.[/p]
  • [p]Modified Europe in War alternative map - added Jerusalem province.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed West Frankish unit Freres Gueries.[/p]
  • [p]For sieges, the SPACE key can be used to fire a catapult.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed bad movement of Dismounted Knights units in all factions.[/p]
  • [p]Adjusted the "Show location" buttons - pressing them closes the main menu, the camera will pan to the province, after a while the main menu will turn on again.[/p]
  • [p]In Legends, Taltos were able to control the weather. In the game they can't be hit by lightning.[/p]
  • [p]In battle, the defending AI can engage even if you're outnumbered.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed Alliance action.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed province or kingdom acquisition action when multiple major provinces appeared.[/p]
  • [p]Rebels show local culture.[/p]
  • [p]Increased some time limits and adjusted the requirements of nobles in their quests.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed tooltips in the menus.[/p]
  • [p]Reduced speed Varju Horse Archers[/p]
  • [p]And a lot of minor fixes.[/p]

Handbook released!

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Hi![/p][p]I have finally finished the first version of the Bellfortis strategy game handbook/manual, which has been requested, especially by players unfamiliar with similar games. [p][/p][p][/p][p]Hello friends![/p][p][/p][p]The new update 1.0.2 is out now and brings dozens of changes, fixes and improvements![/p][p][/p][p]Based on feedbacks, I've adjusted the game's economy. It's a struggle with it because some people find the difficulty extremely hard, others find it very easy when they know what to do. So I decided to simplify the beginning of the game, especially on Easy and Standard difficulties. I'll need to test it longer and see what you guys say. I'm ready to address this further in the next update. But I believe the game is a bit better again. From the content I added one map of smaller Europe. While it is based on the main large map of Europe, it only shows about half of the provinces. Consider it a bonus :)[/p][p][/p][p]I also keep the old version of the game in the Beta Branch on Steam, if someone wants to play the old version of Bellfortis, but otherwise the old gamesaves are fully playable in the new version, it may just happen that you see a slightly different production or public order after the loading.[/p][p]
New in the update:[/p]
  • [p]Added an alternative map of Europe with fewer provinces for faster gameplay.[/p]
  • [p]Completely redesigned system of mood and Public order.[/p]
  • [p]If another faction joins you, relations between you and the enemies of that faction will deteriorate. Conversely, relations with their friends will improve.[/p]
  • [p]If you are joined by another faction that was not on good terms with you, public order will be reduced in those provinces for several rounds.[/p]
  • [p]Added the ability to sort provinces by Public Order to the list of provinces.[/p]
  • [p]In the list of provinces there is now a button for each province to jump to that province.[/p]
  • [p]Reduced likelihood of enemies using defensive towers ;)[/p]
  • [p]You can skip the castle capture with catapult interlude.[/p]
  • [p]Redesigned the Governor and Nobles selection window.[/p]
  • [p]When selecting a Governor or a Noble for the Royal Council, Nobles can now be sorted by ability.[/p]
  • [p]Increased speed and stamina of some wild Viking units due to the ability to better attack enemy archers (since they have no cavalry).[/p]
  • [p]Added several mentor messages to alert players about, for example, placing people on the royal council, raising the level of a city, adding a governor, etc.[/p]
  • [p]Factions Wales, Picts and Bulgarians added to the big map of Europe.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the functionality of trade routes - they can now be used only once on an entire alien faction and for each trade route arranged the player gets +4% to income.[/p]
  • [p]VSync button added to options.[/p]
  • [p]Added Steppe Archers unit to the Bulgarian faction.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed single battle of Serdica (assigned to Bulgarians instead of Hungarians).[/p]
  • [p]AI battle system redesigned. It looks the same, it behaves the same, but inside it's different! :) It will be easier to improve in the future.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug when part of the attacking army did not attack and units stood still.[/p]
  • [p]The catapult can now pass through your other soldiers, they will spread out.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where the player would get negative bonuses for random actions in foreign countries (like plague).[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where the player playing as Vikings should have received cavalry units as a quest reward from the nobility, but Vikings don't have cavalry units.[/p]
  • [p]Modified battle sounds - reduced screaming of wounded soldiers and added new sounds.[/p]
  • [p]The construction of the marketplace now does not need the construction of a town centre.[/p]
  • [p]Residents' earnings have increased on easy and standard difficulty.[/p]
  • [p]Added crash detection system. Very rarely someone reports a crash that we can't replicate unfortunately. I hope it will help.[/p]
  • [p]And about 40 other minor fixes. :)[/p]
