DEVLOG #5 – Catch Mechanic & Development Status

[p]Hello everyone,
[/p][p]We want to share a clearer update on the current state of Night of the Slayers.[/p][p]Over the past few months, we have been heavily focused on updated character versions, core systems, and the overall game infrastructure. Since we have received many questions about the release timing, we want to provide a more accurate and clearer update.[/p][p]What we can say right now is this: development is continuing, and the game’s core mechanics, designs, and integrations are moving toward their final stage. We are also continuing to work on updated character versions and overall visual quality. We plan to share much more with you very soon.[/p][p]One of the core systems we are currently working on is the Catch Mechanic. This system includes catching the survivor, slamming them to the ground, dragging them, kicking to escape, and the cage interaction flow. Along with this update, we are also sharing a work-in-progress preview sheet that outlines the development direction of this system. [/p][p]We previously said that we did not want to give an exact date. However, since this question has come up so often, we can say that our current release target is Q2 2026. We do not expect to go beyond that window.[/p][p]We recently noticed the “Let the Community Design a Slayer” idea from our Discord community. Players creating their own Slayer concepts, defining a fitting mechanic for them, and having the most liked design selected is something we would be happy to explore.[/p][p]If you have map sketches, new character ideas, or other concepts that you think would fit the atmosphere of the game, feel free to share them in our Discord community. These ideas can be a valuable source of inspiration for future character and map development. We may also highlight one of our favorite community ideas with a small easter egg in a future map, such as carving the creator’s nickname into a tree or another part of the environment.[/p][p]Thank you for your patience and support. We look forward to sharing more progress with you soon.[/p][p]Stay Connected[/p][p]Discord is where we are most active, and it is our main place for smaller development updates, community feedback, and more frequent answers to player questions.[/p][p]To stay connected with us and follow development more closely:
