About Steam Deck compatibility, present and future support.

[p]Hi everyone![/p][p]In this post, we’ll go over the current state of Into The Grid’s performance on the Steam Deck, as well as our future plans for it.[/p][p]Disclaimer: The game is frequently tested on a Steam Deck LCD model.[/p]

Current state of the game on Steam Deck
• [p]Fully playable from beginning to end.[/p]
 • [p]Runs at high FPS, with several settings you can tweak to adapt the experience.[/p]
 • [p]Some text can be too small to read comfortably.[/p]
 • [p]Doesn’t have native controller support yet, but includes a default configuration created by the team (detailed below).[/p]

Default controller configuration
[p]The team put together a configuration that makes the game fully playable using the Steam Deck controls. It works as follows:[/p]
 • [p]Left trackpad: Control the cursor with precision.[/p]
 • [p]A button: Acts as left-click to interact.[/p]
 • [p]B button: Acts as right-click to cancel interactions.[/p]
 • [p]Y button: Acts as Esc key to quickly access the game menu.[/p]
 • [p]Left joystick: Pan the camera in map view.[/p]
 • [p]L1 & R1: Zoom in/out in map view.[/p]
 • [p]Right joystick: Scroll in deck view (requires the cursor to be in the deck area).[/p]

Plans for the future
[p]During Early Access, we plan to implement several improvements as we move toward achieving Steam Deck Verified status. These include:[/p]
 • [p]Full controller support.[/p]
 • [p]Adjusted UI for better readability on smaller screens.[/p]
 • [p]A graphical settings preset to easily balance visuals and performance.[/p]
[p]We can’t confirm exactly when these updates will arrive, but they’re part of our active roadmap.[/p]

Closing thoughts
[p]As a team, we understand the relevance and impact the Steam Deck is having in the gaming industry. Many of us enjoy using this little powerhouse, and some even use it as our primary gaming device, so rest assured, it will always remain on our radar.[/p][p]That said, we’re always looking forward to your feedback on how we can improve the experience, so feel free to share your thoughts.[/p][p]– The Flatline Team[/p]
