During Season Zero we deployed several experimental changes to the rating system to improve the rating-climbing experience, including making point exchange no longer zero-sum at lower ranks. Thanks for your patience, and for your help in testing out the system.

Welcome to Ranked Season One!

Ranked Season One will run through May and June.
Season One makes further changes to rating scales and calculations, making it easier to get to higher ranked tiers and increasing the rate of point gain at low ranks significantly. Most players should be able to reach at least Silver rank with enough persistence.

Ratings now begin at 0 and cannot go negative. The ranks have been changed to:

Iron - Play one game of Ranked Mode
Bronze - Reach a rating of 400 or greater
Silver - Reach a rating of 800 or greater
Gold - Reach a rating of 1200 or greater
Platinum - Reach a rating of 1500 or greater
Diamond - Reach a rating of 1800 or greater
Infinity - Reach a rating of 2000 or greater

Your existing ratings have been converted to the new scale. Rating changes are faster across the board. Additionally, at the beginning of your journey your rating gains will be boosted up to 4x, and losses reduced up to 1/4x. These bonuses reduce gradually up to Gold rank.

A small change: The gold rewards for leaderboard positions have been increased. The rewards are now:

First place: 1000 LM points, 5000 gold, Champion title, Champion profile pic
Second place: 750 LM points, 4500 gold
Third place: 600 LM points, 4000 gold
Fourth place: 500 LM points, 3500 gold
Fifth place: 400 LM points, 3000 gold
6th-10th place: 300 LM points, 2500 gold
11th-25th: 200 LM points, 2300 gold
26th-50th: 100 LM points, 2000 gold
Top 51st-100th: 1000 gold
