Golel Demo build 1.8.1

Hello,

Demo Build 1.8.1

I have upload Golel Demo 1.8.1.
This build contains improvements to gamepad support.
It contains improvement to quality issues.
There is now also support for cloud saves.
Notice, that the cloud does not save the image/screenshot of the save, but missing screenshots will not affect your ability to load the save file.
I have also add support to Italian, Traditional Chinese, French and Spanish(Latin America).
The demo is now marked with partial support for Gamepad.
I would like to make it full support of gamepad.

What's next for the Demo?

I want to add more language support to the Demo.
I want to make official full support for gamepad.
I want to make a Linux build, the Linux build is not working properly right now. I delay this until I get a Linux machine.
I would potentially also want to make a Mac build.
There are some issues with different languages, like words go over each other.
So I want to fix more existing issue with language localization.
However, I am going to work now more on the full game. I think the Demo is now in a very good state.
I hope the features and improvements will help bring more wishlist to the game.

What's next?

I will now shift my focus to the full game again.

Demo Build 1.7.7, new features.

Hello,

Golel Demo 1.7.7 new features.

I have been fixing issues, and adding visual and audio cues that were missing.
One feature that took me at least a week to add, is gamepad support.
Golel Demo now supports gamepad.
You can play the entire game using gamepad only.
You will need to enable the "gamepad mode" from the menu(the menu can be accessed with the gamepad even without gamepad mode).

(Notice gamepad mapping not localized yet, and is only available in English)



What's next?

I would like to keep improving the gamepad support. There are still ways it can be improved and make a better experience.
I also need to update language localization for new terms, like the gamepad mapping.
I am also going to add support for cloud saves, and the ability to delete existing saves.
Also going to add more language localization.

What about the full game?

As much as I would like to continue work only on the full game.
I have found that I still need to implement some of those basic features, like gamepad support and cloud saves.
Those are features that are system wide, so they apply to the full game as well.
The reason is because, games not implementing those features can halve their chances of success.
Those are also very good features that players want, so it makes sense to implement them.

Demo Build version 1.7.6

Hello,

Golel Demo build 1.7.6 is now available.

A few recent issues fixed

In this version, a few issues with VR were fixed.
Recent versions of the VR did not work properly.
Also issues with shadows were fixed for monitor.
VR should work fine now. The only issue might be with UI have some effects cover it, it will be fixed in the future as well.

Improvements to the Demo.

A few visual and audio qualities were improved in the demo.
Also a few visual bugs were fixed.
In addition, the Demo is now supporting Italian localization.

Next updates

I would like to add gamepad support next.
I think a lot of people want the Demo to support a gamepad controller.
I will also add more languages.
Progress on the full game have been a little slow, but I will put more effort in it soon as well.

Demo version 1.6.9. Improvements, and new languages.

Hello,

Golel Demo version 1.6.9 is now available.

[h2]What's in version 1.6.9?[/h2]
In this version of the Demo, I have add support to Russian language, and also Spanish(Spain).
However, Spanish has an issue that the launch option could not be added.
You will have to launch the Demo and make sure to add the argument "-es".
This should be fixed in the future.

More bug fixes to the Demo. There is also a red - to the talent cursor, when the monster has immunity to at least some of it's effects:
Undead cannot get critical damage(critical stab).
Undead and big monsters cannot be stunned.
Some big monsters cannot be pushed back.
Undead cannot get bleeding condition.
Those are a few examples.

Some environments now look better than before. Some other small decoration additions here and there.

NPC dialog trigger is better now. If before walking into a tile would always trigger a dialog. Now trying to walk into the blocked entrance will trigger the dialog.

[h2]What's next for the Demo?[/h2]
The demo still need some bug fixing and quality improvements.
Also addition of more language translations.
I would also like to have gamepad support.
Also improvements to VR.

The Demo is quite polished right now, please let me know if there are any special issues or recommendations you have.

[h2]Full game progress[/h2]
There is progress in the full campaign as well. Still working on chapter 2 though.
When I will be mostly done with chapter 2 I will let you know.

Golel Demo version 1.6.2

Golel Demo version 1.6.2 is now available.

[h2]What's new in Version 1.6.2?[/h2]
In this version I have fixed a bug in the inventory system.
This will pave the way to inventory management like was often requested.

I have also made save files listing faster. In case you have a lot of save files.
And in the future save files listing will be even faster, and I will also give the option to delete save files.
If you see any bugs related to save files and inventory, please let me know.

In addition, you now have tooltips for conditions like when being poisoned or stunned.
It will finally be more clear what happen when you have those conditions.

Another small change, that I am not sure about yet, is that you can go over the HP bar, SP bar and XP bar, and see the values with text.

[h2]What's next for the Demo?[/h2]
For the demo, more bug fixes, more performance improvement.
More language support.
The next version will likely have inventory management.
Languages I would like to add: Russian, Traditional Chinese, Spanish-Spain and Spanish Latin America.
I would theoretically would like to add all possible languages. If I have time.

[h2]New trailer and capsule[/h2]
If you noticed, there is a new extended trailer, and a new capsule.
The capsule is AI generated. When I will get closer to release, I would like to commission and artist for that.
The trailer can be viewed in the Golel steam page.

[h2]What's next for the full game?[/h2]
I am still working on chapter 2, I paused a bit to make the improvements on the Demo.
However, chapter 2 is looking great. I can't wait for you to eventually try it out.
In addition, it is possible I will add the challenge mode in release day, or at least a WIP version of it on release day.
I bought a 3rd party maze generation library. Creating the code for procedural generation might have prolonged the time for release, so I hope this 3rd party library will give good results and will allow me to release on time.
