Greetings, ladies, gentlemen, and any eldritch entities watching us from the void!

Your prayers have been answered, and the Old Ones have deemed you worthy of peeking beyond the veil and gazing upon the future of Stygian: Outer Gods and its Early Access development!

Mind you, nobody can discern every little detail yet, as the future is always in flux and knowing all the possible outcomes and combinations would surely be beyond the capacity of any mortal mind. What we can already tell you about our Early Access voyage is that, before the game is fully released, we aim to introduce two new locations – the otherworldly House of Mists with its surrounding area and the mysterious Brasko family Mansion along with its estate.



Both of these locales will be brought to life with new intriguing characters, deadly enemies and challenging quests. And to give you a chance at success, slim though it may be, new crafting recipes and consumables will become available to you, as well as new weapons; including the much requested Tommy gun.

Not only that, we will keep working on further improving the game's performance and optimization, as well as balancing and fixing any bugs and technical issues that you encounter. And of course, even more content will become available at the game's full release!

We will soon share more info about the next update – make sure you wishlist Stygian: Outer Gods and follow it here on Steam, so that you do not miss any of our future announcements. You are also cordially invited to join the Stygian: Outer Gods Discord where you can not only chat with other players, but also submit your videos, share your fan-art and, of course, report any bugs or issues you might encounter (Steam Discussions are also a good place to do so). And we encourage you to do just that – we need your feedback and suggestions to guide us as we navigate the rough seas of Early Access.

Our performance patch has just gone live for everyone after being thoroughly tested both internally by our team and with volunteers from our community through the public beta. We'd like to thank especially those of you who participated in the beta testing and helped us by sharing your own experience and feedback; we appreciate all your support so much!

The update's primary focus, as the name suggests, was to improve the game's performance, but it also added Victoria's voice to more dialogues and fixed the "Burglar in Training" achievement. Along with the patch, we've also enabled cloud saves, another feature you requested, and we've heeded your call! Performance remains our priority, and we will work on improving it throughout Early Access while also generally polishing the game based on your feedback and adding more content.

However, expect incremental, gradual progress in this matter, not one single update that would completely revolutionize how the game runs on weaker machines. We also strongly recommend considering the minimum PC specs stated on the game's store page before buying Stygian: Outer Gods. Nevertheless, please keep sharing your feedback with us, especially regarding the performance.

As the prophecy foretold, we are approaching the completion of our performance patch. Alas, the Old Ones are unpredictable and their favor ever-fickle, therefore we are asking for volunteers to gaze upon our latest creation before we unleash it upon all our players!

We have been testing the update thoroughly ourselves, and we will keep doing so for several days more - yet there might be issues and bugs that have slipped through. That is why we are only allowing those who deliberately choose to enter to experience it for now; and if all goes according to plan, the update shall be released to everyone next week.

If you wish to heed this call, all you need to do is right-click on Stygian: Outer Gods in your Steam client Library and go to properties - betas, click on the drop-down menu next to "Beta Participation" and select "public_beta":



Your game will then update to this experimental version - besides improved performance, you will also be able to hear Victoria's voice in more dialogues, and the achievement of "Burglar in Training" will be properly awarded as well. Anytime you wish to return to the public, stable version of the game, just follow the same steps and select "None" from the beta list

Just don't forget, brethren - help us by reporting any problems and issues you encounter on your journey to Kingsport and beyond. Most importantly, let us know whether you feel the performance improvements we strive for - and if you can, include your computer specifications and the settings you play at with your reports. Many of you have been asking about playing Stygian: Outer Gods on Steam Deck – currently it is not supported and we cannot recommend you buy the game if you intend to play it on this device instead of a gaming PC. We strive to make the game playable on Steam Deck, and we are making steps towards that end as part of our optimization efforts; but at the moment we cannot guarantee when it is going to happen. We will make sure to notify everyone here on Steam as well as on our Discord server and of course, the compatibility information will be displayed on the storepage. If you are interested in playing Stygian: Outer Gods on your Steam Deck, please wishlist the game so you don’t miss the announcement in the future.

We would also like to extend a big “thank you” to members of our community who have already tested the game on their devices and provided invaluable feedback. It will be nary a week before we let you glean details of what the Outer Gods have planned for Stygian in its Early Access period, what new madness will be unleashed on your minds!

But even before that, if the Old Ones will it, we shall release one more patch to make your journey to Kingsport and indeed, insanity, smoother. We are in the midst of testing a performance update, trying our best to bring numerous optimization improvements into the world, as well as several other enhancements; such as letting you hear more of Victoria's voice and making sure your achievement of "Burglar in Training" is being properly awarded. Alas, we do not wish to make concrete promises yet, as the cosmic, almost Unreal entities we face are formidable indeed - but rest assured we will not give up on improving your experience, whether it is in significant jumps forward or small, incremental steps.
