🗺️ Setting Sail into a Living World
Our fictional game world takes inspiration from the Baltic and North Sea regions, with landscapes, architecture, and climates that feel both familiar and immersive. It’s designed to strike the perfect balance – big enough for long voyages, but compact enough to keep things fun.
You’ll start your journey in a quiet, central bay, working your way outward as you acquire more ships and tackle greater distances, eventually venturing into more distant waters.
Whether you’re navigating tight coastal waters or hauling cargo across vast stretches of ocean, there’s always a new route to explore!
🌏 Charting the Coasts
The world in Seafarer: The Ship Sim is divided into two distinct regions, each with unique landscapes, architectural styles, and port cultures.
Craigshire
Inspired by Great Britain and Ireland, Craigshire features rugged coastlines, harbors, and quiet bays.
Dansbergen
Dansbergen captures the essence of Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands, with coastal cities, beaches, and islands.
⚓ Anchoring at Iconic Ports
With ports of varying sizes, the world is full of places to discover and missions to take on.
If you’re looking for some cargo missions, Crescentport in Craigshire will likely be a frequent stop on your routes. And if you’re more interested in coastguard operations, Stettach is the place to be.
But for the start of your maritime venture, Mettington will be your first home – a tranquil cargo port that serves as the perfect launch point for new seafarers looking to make their mark.
🌊 Braving the Elements on the Open Water
There’s more to explore beyond the shores. The open sea is vast and unpredictable, filled with lost places, and ever-changing maritime conditions. As you travel, you’ll encounter NPC ships following their own trade routes, making the world feel alive and dynamic. Whether you’re navigating unknown waters, pushing through a heavy storm, or simply admiring the beauty of the horizon, the sea always has more to uncover.
And who knows, uncharted waters may open up in the future… 👀
