Hey mates! Huge update just dropped for Endless RPG, and I'm super excited to share what’s new:

🛠️ Steam Workshop & Mod Support
Now it’s possible to create your own dialogues and quests for:
  • Events
  • Contracts
  • Plants
  • Doors
  • Caves
  • Ruins
  • All Evil Centers (by type)
  • All relationship types

🏛️ Citizenship Tweak: now require a 50 Reputation to become a citizen.
💀 Ruins Tweak: Less Undead, more variety! Expect more human enemies.
👑 Evil Center Boss Dialogue: correct answers outcome now give more bonus XP and extra Coins to your reward!
👹 Ogre Tweaks:
  • Magic resistance now equals half their Power
  • Health bonus increased to 1.5x

🛡️ Citizenship Update & QoL Improvements ⚔️

The Citizenship Upgrade is here! 🎉 Now your group of adventurers can visit the Tavern and choose to become a Citizen of the town, unlocking some cool new privileges:
  • Luxury Inn: Rest in style at an expensive inn, doubling your recovery rate.
  • Banquet: Celebrate with a full stomach for extra bonuses.
  • Fund Building: Help shape the town’s growth and unlock the facilities you need.
  • New Hamlet: Build a new town nearby and expand your territory.

In addition, I’ve made several tweaks and improvements based on your feedback:
  • Meteoric Bow now deals splash damage.
  • Dialogue Streamlining: Internal changes made to prepare for the upcoming Mod Support update.
  • Map Interaction: Pressing Esc now clears the MapQuery. If no query is active, it opens the Menu.
  • Status Change: Boost Armor now increases Armor by +2 and removes the Damaged Armor status.
  • Combat Bar Update: Added action indicator for better clarity during combat.
  • Dual Wilder:
    • Offhand weapons now deal half the damage of the corresponding hand weapon of the same tier.
    • Adjusted damage amplitudes to better balance two-handed and hand/offhand weapons:
      • Two-Handed:
        • .10 → .25
        • .25 → .33
        • .50 → .50
      • Hand/Offhand:
        • .50 → .33
    • Big Weapons Training Skill: Minimum Damage +15%.

I’ve also been working on the final touches for Mod Support and it’s almost ready! Expect more news on that soon.

Bug Bashing

Hello everyone!
Some pesky bugs made their way into the Steam version, but thanks to your sharp eyes and valuable feedback, we're squashing them fast. Big thanks, and sorry for the hiccups!

Changelog:
  • Undead Immunity: Removed wound immunity.
  • Mindless: Now only immune to Mind Control and Mind Leak.
  • Evil Centers: No more commoners. Stronger enemies await.
  • Swift Dispel: Now hits adjacent targets.
  • Sticks and Stones: on New Game, always starts with clubs, basic armor, shield, and 1000 coins.
  • [BUG] New game couldn’t be created without an existing save file.
  • [BUG] Vines on dungeon crates were crashing the game.
  • [BUG] Illusions were damaging mindless enemies.
  • [BUG] On Craft, switching from Modify to Craft was losing the item info.


Thanks again for all the help tracking these bugs down. You're truly the best players a solo dev could wish for. =]

Some Changes and a Fix

Starting the week strong with a fast update! I was already cooking a few improvements and the QA already gave the green light, so I decided to bundle them with a critical bug fix. This patch brings balance tweaks, QoL upgrades, some love to towns and Evil Centers and a few spicy skill changes.

Patch Notes:
  • Party Screen: Click 'R' or 'S' to jump straight to the Relations or Skills menu.
  • Overseer Routine: Every in-game day, the map now checks if each race has a Town. If not, one will be created.
  • Pan on Edge: New option to toggle edge-panning on or off in the Options menu.
  • Skill XP: Arcane Traits and Arcane Focus now grant extra skill uses for Mastery progression.
  • Multiple Master Skills: Characters can now hold multiple Master Skills, as long as they aren’t in a Master Quest.
  • Town Shop – Balance:
    • Reduced base sell modifiers.
    • Town Shop Events: cap the buy/sell bonus to 50%.
    • UI tweaks to fit more buttons on the left panel.
  • Evil Centers: Difficulty now scales with your party’s level. Good luck! XD
  • New Game+: On starting a new game, choose to keep your current party or make a new one. Pick a fresh world either way.
  • Skill Changes:
    • Shadow Move: Teleport (Speed x2)
    • Far Shadow Move: Speed x3
    • Dodging Shadow Move: Guard Bonus (Speed x2)
    • Defensive Shadow Move: Guard Bonus (Speed x2)
    • Black Magic: Now have Drain 2.
    • Hold Crowd & Hold Horde: Now are friendly fire.
  • Legendaries: Can now be modified.
  • Illusory Mage (Master Skill): Added skills: Passive True Sight, Mind Leak, Counterspell.
  • Bug Fix: Fixed crash caused by Vine spells.

Your Feedback in Action!

Hey-a, adventurers!

You ask, and I deliver! As you’ve probably noticed, I’m very active on the Steam forums, listening to your feedback and working hard to bring your suggestions to life. I want Endless RPG to be the best it can be, and that means updates, improvements, and, of course, squashing bugs (you know how much I hate those).

Here’s what’s new in Update 0.8.8f:

🛠 Changes & Improvements:
✅ Balancing – Ruins and Caves adjusted (more tweaks coming!).
✅ Magic as a Stat – Now visible on Combat Query and Party Screen.
✅ ESC Key Fix – Now properly closes info panels.
✅ Guard Bonus Limit – Capped at 20 for a simpler, more intuitive system, any new bonus is just added to the Guard pool until 20 at maximum.
✅ Splash Damage Adjustment – Now deals half-damage instead of 7 maximum.
✅ Dismissed Characters – They’ll now stay nearby instead of wandering too far.
✅ Foraging Nerf – Reduced material yield.
✅ Relations Cooldown – Now 12 hours instead of 8 hours.
✅ Right-Click to Remove Traits – Easier trait management.
✅ Forced Relation Dialogue Removed – No more forced interactions.
✅ Event Delays – Increased from 1 to 3 days.
✅ Magic Amplitude Explained Better – Clarity matters!
✅ Armor Wreak Skill Description Updated – Now specifies it only triggers on health damage.
✅ "Maneuver" Removed from Skill Descriptions – Simplifying terminology.
✅ Character Stat Tracking Added:
▶️Kills
▶️Times knocked out
▶️Attacks made/received/evaded
▶️Damage dealt/received
▶️Buffs cast
▶️Days in the party
✅ Edge Scrolling Added – Move the camera by pushing to screen edges.
✅ Weapon Requirement Displayed in Combat – No more guesswork.
✅ New Town Contract: Diplomacy – More ways to interact with the world.
✅ Investigation Contracts Reworked – No more memorizing quests, you actually have to investigate!
✅ [CRASH] Rare Silent Crash at Loot Screen – I’ve reinforced the code everywhere I could. If you encounter this bug, please try to reproduce it and send me the details!
