Small Patch - v0.9.8f

Just published a small patch before diving into major changes next week. You’ll notice some visual updates in combat mostly. Hopefully this fixes most of the issues we were seeing. Let me know if anything else pops up!

Changelog:
  • Health and Guard bars: once it passes 50, change the size increments color.
  • More Skill room: on the combat bar, increase the capacity for more skills.
  • Party Screen: Skills are now in a content panel.
  • New shape for Traits, Racials and other Skills that don't count as Skills.
  • When players resist arrest, the group reputation will not suffer another hit.
  • [FIX] Seal items are now Tier 5 instead of Tier 4.
  • [BUG] Spine shenanigans: textures were exported 4096 x 4096 and not 2048 x 2048 causing texture scaling issues.

The Five Seals Are Open

The late-game challenge is here! You can now enter any of the Five Seals and face their powerful guardians. I strongly recommend bringing a top-tier party, fully equipped with the best gear and carefully chosen Skills.

The rewards at the end vary depending on which Seal you challenge, choose wisely!

  • FIVE SEALS: New traits, items, enemies, and dialogues.
  • Added Angels, Demons, and Elementals.
  • Dialogue Engine: You can now trigger stand-alone battles directly from dialogue.
  • Town Shop coins doubled.
  • Tavern Tooltip: Removed "lively gambling tables" reference.
  • Party Dialogues: Reviewed and corrected text glitches.
  • Loot Drop Rate: Reduced gear drop chance from 70% to 20%.
  • UI Updates: Magic Armor and Magic Resistance now visible on the Party Screen and Combat Query.
  • Map Icons: Added icons for Seals and Caves.
  • Added a dotted line indicator when targeting with Provoke.
  • [FIX] Deny Unliving appearance for Demons.
  • [FIX] Wild Shape no longer keeps Demon horns.
  • [FIX] Mod Support now includes image.png.
  • [FIX] Fog effect now lasts the correct full turn.
  • [FIX] The "Light" tag is now properly categorized as a Good tag.
  • [BUG] Reinforcements weren’t accounting for Raised Dead and Mind-Controlled units. Now fixed!
  • [BUG] Obelisks now correctly grant XP.
  • [BUG] Spawners now receive passive skill status effects.
  • [BUG] Illusions now receive status effects that don’t require resistance.

Workshop, Mods & More

Hey mates! Huge update just dropped for Endless RPG, and I'm super excited to share what’s new:

🛠️ Steam Workshop & Mod Support
Now it’s possible to create your own dialogues and quests for:
  • Events
  • Contracts
  • Plants
  • Doors
  • Caves
  • Ruins
  • All Evil Centers (by type)
  • All relationship types

🏛️ Citizenship Tweak: now require a 50 Reputation to become a citizen.
💀 Ruins Tweak: Less Undead, more variety! Expect more human enemies.
👑 Evil Center Boss Dialogue: correct answers outcome now give more bonus XP and extra Coins to your reward!
👹 Ogre Tweaks:
  • Magic resistance now equals half their Power
  • Health bonus increased to 1.5x

🛡️ Citizenship Update & QoL Improvements ⚔️

The Citizenship Upgrade is here! 🎉 Now your group of adventurers can visit the Tavern and choose to become a Citizen of the town, unlocking some cool new privileges:
  • Luxury Inn: Rest in style at an expensive inn, doubling your recovery rate.
  • Banquet: Celebrate with a full stomach for extra bonuses.
  • Fund Building: Help shape the town’s growth and unlock the facilities you need.
  • New Hamlet: Build a new town nearby and expand your territory.

In addition, I’ve made several tweaks and improvements based on your feedback:
  • Meteoric Bow now deals splash damage.
  • Dialogue Streamlining: Internal changes made to prepare for the upcoming Mod Support update.
  • Map Interaction: Pressing Esc now clears the MapQuery. If no query is active, it opens the Menu.
  • Status Change: Boost Armor now increases Armor by +2 and removes the Damaged Armor status.
  • Combat Bar Update: Added action indicator for better clarity during combat.
  • Dual Wilder:
    • Offhand weapons now deal half the damage of the corresponding hand weapon of the same tier.
    • Adjusted damage amplitudes to better balance two-handed and hand/offhand weapons:
      • Two-Handed:
        • .10 → .25
        • .25 → .33
        • .50 → .50
      • Hand/Offhand:
        • .50 → .33
    • Big Weapons Training Skill: Minimum Damage +15%.

I’ve also been working on the final touches for Mod Support and it’s almost ready! Expect more news on that soon.

Bug Bashing

Hello everyone!
Some pesky bugs made their way into the Steam version, but thanks to your sharp eyes and valuable feedback, we're squashing them fast. Big thanks, and sorry for the hiccups!

Changelog:
  • Undead Immunity: Removed wound immunity.
  • Mindless: Now only immune to Mind Control and Mind Leak.
  • Evil Centers: No more commoners. Stronger enemies await.
  • Swift Dispel: Now hits adjacent targets.
  • Sticks and Stones: on New Game, always starts with clubs, basic armor, shield, and 1000 coins.
  • [BUG] New game couldn’t be created without an existing save file.
  • [BUG] Vines on dungeon crates were crashing the game.
  • [BUG] Illusions were damaging mindless enemies.
  • [BUG] On Craft, switching from Modify to Craft was losing the item info.
