Ascension Servers Winding Down

[p]Hey everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]We have a difficult update to share. After exploring every option we could, we’ve made the decision to shut down the game and turn off the servers. The game requires online authentication to run, and we’re no longer able to support the server infrastructure needed to keep it online.[/p][p][/p][p]We came into launch with strong momentum and a lot of excitement, but the early reviews and reception hit us harder than expected, and we were never able to recover from that. With a small team and limited resources, we pushed as long as we could, but it eventually became clear we couldn’t keep the game sustainable.[/p][p][/p][p]We also explored alternatives to keep it alive, including removing servers and switching to peer-to-peer, but the game simply wasn’t built to support that kind of networking without a massive rebuild. With what we had left, it just wasn’t realistic.[/p][p][/p][p]The servers will be shut down on Thursday at 11:00 AM UTC.[/p][p]After that time, the game will no longer be playable.[/p][p][/p][p]This isn’t where we hoped to end up, and it’s tough to write this message. Still, part of the journey is the end, and this is where this chapter of Lumerea closes. We’re proud of what we built, and we’re grateful to everyone who played, shared feedback, stuck with us, and believed in what we were trying to do. The community may have been small, but it was passionate — and that meant a lot to us.[/p][p][/p][p]We’ll keep the community channels open a little while longer for anyone who has questions or just wants to stay connected. Thank you for being part of this journey — it genuinely mattered.[/p][p][/p][p]The Vela Team[/p]
