MASSIVE 2.0 UPDATE - New Companion System, Weapon System Overhaul and more

I’ve added a full Companion System, completely overhauled weapons with rarity and infinite scaling, introduced critical damage, added a new Guardian enemy type, rebalanced everything and squashed a bunch of bugs![/p][p][/p][h3]New Features[/h3][p]Companion System[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Summon up to 3 companions to fight alongside you[/p]
    • [p]Companions can be leveled up infinitely[/p]
    • [p]Every companion has a base projectile attack that scales with their level[/p]
    • [p]Every companion increases 2 stats for the player[/p]
    • [p]Companions (and their upgrades) only drop from Elites, Gift Boxes and the new Guardian enemies[/p]
[p]Weapon System Overhaul[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]New weapon rarity tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary[/p]
  • [p]Every weapon can now scale infinitely[/p]
  • [p]Every individual attribute can be upgraded separately[/p]
  • [p]Rebalanced upgrade weights per weapon and per attribute[/p]
[p]Critical Hits[/p]
  • [p]Added Crit Chance and Crit Damage stats[/p]
[p]New Enemy Type: Guardian[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Stationary protectors that guard areas[/p]
  • [p]Does not chase until engaged[/p]

  • [p]Elite enemies now close the distance to the player more aggressively[/p]
  • [p]Cpt. Crustacean’s Ninja Slash special now travels in random patterns[/p]
  • [p]Snowflake is now a starting character[/p]
  • [p]Wanted solo boss fights now reward Rare, Epic, and Legendary upgrades specifically for the chosen character’s starter weapon[/p]
  • [p]Adjusted experience curve[/p]
  • [p]Significantly reduced performance impact from large numbers of experience gems on the ground[/p]
  • [p]Added indicators for locked levels[/p]
  • [p]Updated Arsenal Overview[/p]
  • [p]Character specials now take flat damage upgrades into account (multiplicative)[/p]
    • [p]e.g.: Butter Bomb was previous 550 flat dmg per butter projectile, now its 150

[h3]Visual & Animation Polish[/h3][p][/p]
  • [p]Floating damage numbers now appear on both player and enemies[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Floating healing numbers added for the player[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Significantly improved Flapjack Fury animation[/p]
  • [p]Significantly improved Pancake Throw animation[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Better enemy shadows across the board[/p]
  • [p]Improved weapon shadow “pop” effect on the majority of weapons[/p]
[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • [p]Fixed enemies animating in perfect unison (fights feel way more natural now)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed incorrect size of the Sticky Aura attack[/p]
  • [p]New enemy pooling system — way more enemies on screen with much better performance[/p]
  • [p]No more accidental upgrades when multiple level-ups are queued[/p]
  • [p]Steam Overlay now properly pauses and unpauses the game[/p]
  • [p]Removed the DPS Dummy[/p]
  • [p]Enemy sounds now properly work without overlapping hundreds of times or not playing at all[/p]
