Updates and Inspiration

Catechesis update 🙏
We’re still working super hard on Catechesis. Things are moving forward in areas like combat, where we’ve added some cool new enemies. (Did you know we’re aiming for 40+ enemies total?!) We’re also tweaking the UI, fleshing out the game’s story, and getting close to finishing some key story illustrations. Plus, we’ve started private alpha tests with a few close friends—they’re playing through about 60% of the game right now. This round’s all about testing combat, systems, and hero leveling, since those are the trickier spots for us.

The feedback’s been awesome so far, and the gameplay’s already pretty lengthy. Honestly, we’re thinking the final game could hit around 15 hours—crazy, right?! That’s why it’s taking a while.
We’re cooking up a detailed devlog for the next few months, so stick around for more updates. We’ve got a ton to show you!

Catechesis Inspiration. HORROR RPGs
On top of this quick update, we’ve got something special—a video about our big inspiration for Catechesis (and our past games): RPG Maker horror games. Check out the creepy world of RPG Maker horror—like the viral scarefest Ao Oni or the artsy chills of Ib. We’ll dive into how this simple tool spawned psychological horror gems that still haunt players years later. You’ll hear about the stories behind these indie classics and what makes their fear factor so unique. Whether you’re a diehard fan or just curious about these cult hits, come along as we celebrate their wild creativity and lasting vibes.
