City Transport Simulator: Tram - Roadmap November Update!

Welcome to the new CTS: Tram Roadmap Update! Since our last roadmap update, a lot has happened in City Transport Simulator: Tram. We're excited to bring you up to date and share a look ahead at the upcoming improvements and features coming your way in the next few months.
A Look Back at v0.3.0 and v0.3.1
With Update v0.3.0, we introduced major expansions and officially completed Phase 1. We added important content like the Vienna Tram Type D, new career mode levels, and a variety of liveries.

We also expanded the map with a siding track, giving you the option to start as a special service train or finish your route there. To make the gameplay experience more dynamic, we updated the loading screen gallery and added AI trains at the main station to bring the world of Tramau even more to life.

The latest update, v0.3.1, marked the beginning of Phase 2. In this phase, we focused primarily on optimizing AI behavior, switches, and signals, along with fixing numerous bugs reported by you. Additionally, we increased the variety of street traffic and passengers to create an even more immersive game world.
New Update in the Works – v0.3.2
Your feedback is incredibly important to us, and based on that, we’re focusing primarily on bug fixes and stability improvements for v0.3.2. We take your reports on Discord and the Steam Forum seriously and are working to create an even more solid gameplay experience.

However, we will be adding a brand-new feature: collectible keychains! Similar to the postcards you know, you’ll now be able to find souvenir machines around the city that offer keychains.

Each keychain features a tram and includes fascinating background information about that particular tram model—perfect for those who want to get to know the vehicles outside of their daily routes!
The Roadmap – A Look Ahead
Our roadmap offers you a clear overview of what to expect in upcoming updates. It gives you a taste of the features and expansions that are on the way.
Joystick Support and Customizable Controls
We know how important joystick support is to many of you. That’s why we’re working hard on providing joystick and presets for keyboard and controller. Although this feature has been delayed slightly, you can look forward to enjoying it in CTS: Tram later this year!
Two Planned Map Expansions
These new expansions are designed specifically to enhance the unique old town feel. In the old town areas, the atmosphere of Tramau really comes alive—without the usual car traffic that shapes the cityscape elsewhere.

Another highlight of this expansion is the grass tracks, which not only enhance the aesthetic but also give the route a different feel.

We’ve also added an interesting construction site at one station, providing an engaging change of pace and allowing you to experience the ever-evolving city landscape.

Overall, these expansions not only provide a deeper immersion into the world of Tramau, but also deliver a varied gameplay experience, allowing you to explore both the tranquil old town and the city’s new, underutilized areas.
The Path to Console Release
The release of console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S is within reach. In the next Dev Diary, we’ll give you a first look at the console version. Stay tuned—exciting insights await!

City Transport Simulator: Tram – Dev Diary Update #1

Hello everyone,
We are excited to give you a deeper insight into the latest developments and improvements for City Transport Simulator: Tram. Due to the high demand from the community, we have decided to publish this Dev Diary to highlight some of the most important changes and bug fixes.

You can watch the video version of our Dev Diary here (only available in German): https://youtu.be/TrTk1GDnDEA

Overview: Recent Changes and Improvements

In recent weeks, we have been working intensively to stabilize and optimize the gameplay experience in CTS: Tram. We are currently in an intensive testing phase of a new version of the game. We are working on testing and fixing the remaining bugs before we release the update.
New Gameplay Options
Some changes we've already implemented include new options that give players more control, such as:

Green Stop Markers: These can now be toggled on or off.
Tram Braking Power Adjustment: This option was added specifically for the "Type D" tram, which now has stronger braking power.
AI Density: The density of AI cars and pedestrians can now be set to "low," "medium," or "high." This improves the game’s adaptability to different performance configurations.
Improved AI Pedestrians and Vehicle Behavior
One of our focuses in the past weeks has been improving the behavior of AI vehicles and pedestrians. Here's an overview of the changes:

Traffic Lights and Pedestrians: Pedestrians now behave more realistically at traffic lights, no longer crossing on red, and respecting traffic rules.
AI Trams: AI trams now stop properly to allow passengers to board and disembark and no longer get stuck on the tracks.
Optimized Vehicle and Passenger Spawning: The spawn logic has been revised so that vehicles and passengers are now integrated more efficiently and realistically into the game without negatively impacting performance.
Gameplay Adjustments
There are also gameplay improvements:

Green Markers: These now work as they should, accurately indicating when and where to make the perfect stop.
Distance Display: The HUD now accurately shows the distance to the next stop after being revised.
Collision Logic Adjusted: Collisions now occur more realistically and at the correct times—whether between trams, cars, or pedestrians.
Switches and Signals
Another major update concerned the functioning of the switches and signals in the game.

All the signals you encounter in the game now work correctly and are respected by both your tram and AI vehicles. As a result, there are no longer any issues with trams running red lights or unexpectedly stopping.

Bugs related to switches have also been removed. The automatic switch recognition and control now work as intended, contributing to smoother gameplay.

Recap of Update 0.3.0 and What's Next

In the last update (version 0.3.0), we added many new features like the Type D tram, a map expansion, and over 100 new loading screens to enrich the game experience.

With the upcoming update 0.3.1, we will primarily focus on bug fixes and improvements. While there will be no new features, the update will deliver a more stable and immersive gameplay experience.
Console Versions
Another major focus is the work on the console versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Particularly for the Xbox Series S, it’s been a challenge to achieve optimal performance without simply reducing graphics quality and AI density.

We are working on ensuring that the game runs on consoles at medium graphics settings with stable 60 FPS. These improvements will also benefit the PC version.
What’s Coming Next?
In the coming weeks, our focus will be on thorough testing. We want to make sure all systems are working flawlessly before releasing the update. Since quality is our top priority, there is no exact release date for the update yet, but we are planning to roll it out within the next few weeks.

We are very pleased with the progress we've made and are looking forward to delivering Update 0.3.1 to you soon.

It’s important to us that the game runs smoothly and stably for all players—whether on PC or console. That’s why we are taking the time to test everything thoroughly.

Thank you for your patience and support! We’ll keep you updated and are eager to hear your feedback.

Stay tuned—there’s much more to come!

Status Update: Progress and Improvements - CTS: Tram

Dear CTS: Tram Players,

First of all, we sincerely apologize for the silence over the past few weeks. After the Dovetail Direct and the holiday period, some internal matters came up that unfortunately prevented us from responding to your requests more quickly. But from now on, we will be more active in engaging with the community and addressing all support tickets.

We want to assure you: Your messages are reaching us, and we hear you. Internally, we've had many discussions as we are just as dissatisfied with the quality of the v0.3.0 update as you are. This huge update was supposed to address several of your requests, but unfortunately, errors crept in that should not have happened – and we take full responsibility for that.
What are we doing now?
Our first priority is to revise our internal processes. As you may have noticed, we are taking more time than usual for the next update. The reason for this is that we want to make this update as stable as possible. We are focusing heavily on bug fixes and gameplay balancing to finally resolve issues like malfunctioning traffic lights, stations, switches, or AI trams. Additionally, we are improving our QA process and investing more time in testing to identify and fix errors earlier, before the update is released.
What does this mean for you?
There will be delays with the next update. We will keep you regularly updated via our Steam page, social media channels and community Discord and inform you exactly about the progress and current status of the update.
What can you expect in the next update?
We are focusing primarily on bug fixes and stability, so there won’t be any major new features. However, these improvements are coming:
AI Behavior
- Passengers will no longer be stuck in the ground.
- AI trams will follow their correct routes and no longer stop unexpectedly.
- AI trams will no longer pass through player trams.
- Collisions with vehicles and pedestrians will be more realistic and won’t trigger too early.
Signals & Switches
- All switches will function correctly and can be operated either automatically or manually.
- All (switch) signals will work correctly.
- Traffic light phases will be realistically and correctly timed.
- Warnings like "Signal Ignored" will only appear after actually passing the signal.
Stations
- Green stop markers will always be displayed correctly and can be disabled in the settings.
- All stops will appear correctly on the map.
- The "Missed Stop" warning will only show up if the stop was actually missed.
Gameplay
- Tram brake force can now be customized in the settings.
- Speed limits are displayed correctly.

At the same time, we are continuing to work on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of CTS: Tram. We’ll be able to share more details on the console version in October and possibly even announce a release date.

We hope you understand that we are working hard on addressing these issues and doing our best to ensure that something like this doesn’t happen again in the future. City Transport Simulator is just as important to us as it is to you, and we are committed to delivering a high-quality and enjoyable simulation based on your feedback. Your player experience is our top priority, and we will continue to do everything we can to improve it continuously.

Thank you for your patience and support!
