Patch 0.4.2 | Halloween Update

Attention, Hunters!

Increased demon activity in the Chernokamensk Zone has caught HQ's attention. According to eyewitnesses, a particularly large and dangerous creature was spotted at night in the Garage Cooperative. Its size and behavior don’t align with typical anomalies. To help combat this threat, the base has issued new equipment: UV underbarrel flashlights and experimental UV grenades capable of temporarily weakening the enemy.

But the oddities don’t end there... Scouts have reported mysterious pumpkins scattered throughout the territory. These objects have piqued scientists interest, prompting command to issue an urgent order: gathering pumpkin samples is now a top priority, overriding all current tasks. To incentivize the hunt, each sample collected counts toward mission progress, with unique rewards available for collecting 5, 15, and 30 samples.

  • A new themed event has begun, offering exclusive cosmetic rewards (car charm, hat for a dog, and a new knife). The event runs until November 4th!
  • Added UV underbarrel flashlights for both primary and secondary weapons, available only in raids.

  • Added a demon boss who appears in the Garage Cooperative at night.

  • Cigarettes now slightly reduce hunger.
  • Glowstick can now be activated by pressing the trigger.
  • The oil lamp can now be used to ignite items like cigarettes, dynamite, etc.
  • Updated the lock-breaking sound.
  • Grenades can now explode after prolonged exposure to fire.
  • Improved quality of some textures in the Forest village.
  • Breathing sounds in gas masks are now slightly quieter.
  • Crackers can now be eaten directly from the pack by holding them near your mouth.
  • You can now remove the canteen cap by pressing and holding the trigger.
  • Graffiti marking a stash in the church in the forest was moved to avoid confusion.
  • Stash markers are now painted with fluorescent paint, glowing in the dark.
  • Quest stash requiring an explosive to enter now spawn with dynamite and a lighter nearby.
  • Slightly increased demons attack range, addressing issues with them approaching too closely.

  • Fixed bug preventing cigarettes in mouth from being lit.
  • Fixed issue where Saiga drum magazines couldn’t be manually emptied.
  • Fixed bug causing players to get stuck in the skinning animation when an enemy body disappeared.
  • Fixed item duplication exploit with the sapper armor pocket.
  • Fixed crossbow bolts passing through enemies without causing damage.
  • Fixed dead demon bodies flickering black.
  • Fixed issue where enemies in the Garage Cooperative and underground complex could move very slowly.
  • Fixed supporter status not displaying until leaderboard refreshed (switched tab).

0.4.1.1 Hotfix

- Fixed an issue where bolts were not saved in a newly purchased quiver.
- Fixed a bug causing the hand to disappear when taking a bolt from a pack.
- Fixed a bug with the quiver shifting from its set position.
- Fixed an issue where the crossbow save slot was on the right side instead of the left in left-handed mode.
- Fixed a bug where a glowstick could be purchased at reputation level 1.
- Adjusted the size of some objects in the village.

Patch 0.4.1

[h3]What's New:[/h3]

- A quiver attachment for the crossbow has been added to the store. It can hold up to 8 additional bolts, greatly improving the weapon's convenience.
- The skinning mechanic has been made more complex. Now, enemies can drop two different types of resources: damaged and undamaged. Undamaged skins are worth twice as much, but for this, the kill must be done using melee weapons or a crossbow.
- Added an animation for inserting the magazine into the AKM.
- The lighter can now be placed in the small pockets on the belt.
- Additional game optimization has been performed. Performance on low and medium settings should significantly improve.

- Skinning animation time has been greatly reduced.
- Skinning animation can no longer be initiated during combat.
- The value of a wolf skin has been increased slightly.
- The stealth mission can now only be completed in Garage Cooperative. The mission description has been improved for better clarity.

- Fixed a bug where the dog could get stuck in a sitting position after digging up an item.
- Fixed a bug where player height settings were not saving.
- Fixed a bug where Stechkin's fire mode settings were not saving.
- Fixed a bug with Stechkin's fire mode toggle.
- Falling under the map in the hideout now teleports the player to the starting position.
- Fixed a bug where the crossbow attachments could be duplicated.
- Fixed a bug where bandits would enter an alert state within the first few seconds of a raid.
- Fixed a bug where a random hunter required for a quest wouldn't spawn in the garages. The guaranteed hunter appearing on the third raid has been moved to a more obvious location.
- Fixed a bug where skinning could be initiated using a throwing knife.
- Fixed incorrect collision on the iron garage.
- Items can no longer be placed inside the drawers of the table in the hideout.
- The PDA can no longer be placed in storage.
- The lids of green crates in the hideout can no longer be moved.

0.4.0.1 Hotfix

- The gas mask of the hazmat suit is now removed at the base, allowing you to eat and drink without changing clothes. The gas mask automatically equips when going on a raid.

- Fixed a bug that prevented refilling the canteen from a barrel.
- Fixed a bug that prevented changing the suit.
- Fixed a bug that prevented buying a new AKM after bartering the old one.
- Fixed a bug that prevented taking a cigarette from the pack by hand.
- Fixed a bug with the hand animation after interacting with any button.
- Fixed a bug where a bandit could throw a grenade after death if the animation had already started.
- Fixed a bug where an exploded demon could still be skinned.

- Tried to fix the incorrect bolt physics when holding the crossbow with both hands. It seems to work, but occasionally the bug still happens. Let me know if this issue is fixed for you. For 100% accuracy, I recommend shooting the crossbow with one hand for now.

[h3]What's New:[/h3]

  • Added a new open area – the forest. This map is much larger than the previous two, so its size is limited in the first two raids.
  • Added a new enemy type – wolves.
  • Added a new skinning mechanic (for wolves and demons).
  • Added a new weapon – crossbow, along with a pack of bolts (bolts are available in the store; to unlock the crossbow you need to complete the new questline).
  • Added a new character and their questline, which becomes available at reputation level two.
  • Added new weapon attachments: offset foregrip, canted sight, and 6x scope (all found only during raids).
  • New character sound system: arm-swinging sounds, new backpack sounds depending on its load. Combined with whether you're sneaking, walking, or running, these now affect stealth and how enemies detect you.
  • Added water physics for the canteen.
  • New dialogue lines for scientists and military personnel at the base (starting corridor).
  • A new belt position adjustment feature added to the settings (distance control).
  • Added avatar body rotation settings (instant – follows head movement exactly, or smart – allows some head rotation without body turning).
  • New animations for attaching suppressors and loading revolver rounds.
  • When enemy bodies disappear, their loot no longer vanishes with them, but falls to the ground from their pockets.
  • Cigarettes can now be pulled out of the pack by hand, not just by bringing the pack to your mouth.
  • Optimized many scripts that previously had a heavy CPU load. Performance on older locations has improved.
  • Small improvements to bandit AI, which, combined with bug fixes, make fights against them, especially stealth encounters, more engaging (more details below).
  • New competitive season. Previous leaderboard results have been reset – grab the chance to climb to the top (this doesn’t affect earned rewards; unlocked knife and revolver will remain).

  • Progress reset has been removed from the in-game menu and is now in the main menu under "New Game".
  • The threshold for earning the NKVD knife from the raid leaderboard has been lowered from 12,000 to 10,000 points.
  • Slightly increased the speed of transferring ammo between boxes and magazines, and similar actions.
  • No more need to open an ammo box first to take out rounds one at a time using the button.
  • On maximum graphics settings, the headlamp now also casts shadows.
  • Increased the time before enemy bodies disappear on high and maximum settings.
  • The Stechkin pistol now defaults to automatic fire mode when purchased, rather than single shot (you can still toggle modes).
  • You can no longer drink, eat, smoke, or whistle while wearing a gas mask (hazmat suit).
  • PSO scope is now called 4x Scope.
  • You no longer need to hold the PDA before scanning an item. You can now pick up the item first, then the PDA.
  • The yellow sticky-note about the base shop has been updated to better explain mechanics for new players.
  • The yellow stash sticky-note now also indicates where weapons can be stored.
  • The increased demand feature has been moved from the first tab of the PDA to the third.
  • PPSh two-handed grip has been adjusted to be less realistic but less buggy and more convenient.
  • For the missing hunter quest, you now have to go to the Garage Cooperative location.
  • For the stash quest, you now have to visit the Underground Facility location.
  • Quests now show which location they need to be completed in.
  • Instead of abstract difficulty levels, enemy types are now listed on the location cards.
  • Muzzle flash effects no longer include distortion.
  • Bandits in combat no longer sprint recklessly toward the player but cautiously approach when they lose contact.
  • Bandits can now retreat slightly when hit in melee to maintain distance.
  • Procedural hit reactions from gunfire have been slightly enhanced for better shooting impact.
  • Dispatcher messages now play a little less frequently.

  • Fixed a bug where bandits could detect the player while facing away.
  • Fixed a bug where stealth only worked on the first bandit, and all subsequent enemies immediately engaged in combat, skipping the alert phase.
  • Fixed a bug where a lone bandit would mistake a dog for an ally and speak lines as if another bandit were nearby during combat XD
  • Fixed a bug where bandits could sometimes shoot through walls (though not guaranteed).
  • Fixed numerous bugs related to combat music playing.
  • Fixed an issue where controls would break on Pico and Valve Index when taking a screenshot or when any other SteamVR overlay notification appeared.
  • Fixed incorrect position and rotation in the car when loading to a raid.
  • Fixed incorrect headlamp angle during raids.
  • Fixed a bug with the misaligned TT pistol sight.
  • Fixed overlapping quest descriptions in the PDA.
