Hey everyone, it’s Lee Horn (@bopnswap), Game Director here at Mountaintop.

Today, I’m excited to announce that Spectre Divide’s Closed Beta starts at 9am PT on Tuesday, August 13 with servers up 24/7 through 6pm PT on Wed, August 21.

You’ll be able to earn a slot in the Closed Beta via Twitch Drops (more details below) along with some exclusive in-game items.

We'll be prioritizing those who get Twitch Drops, but you can boost your chance of getting into the Closed Beta by requesting playtest access on the Steam Store page. While you’re there, make sure to Wishlist.

We’re limiting the total number of Closed Beta players while we validate that everything is working. Regardless, we’ll be letting more players in every day – the sooner you sign-up, the better your chance of getting in.

The Closed Beta will be available exclusively on PC via Steam. We'll have servers running in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

There are two potential ways to get access the Closed Beta:

1. Receiving a Spectre Divide drop on Twitch, and then linking your Spectre and Twitch accounts
   
   
2. Signing up to Playtest on the Steam Store page

Ready for Closed Beta access and exclusive in-game items?

All you’ll have to do is watch streamers with Spectre Divide Drops enabled, and you’ll be able to earn a chance to join the Closed Beta.

On top of that, you can receive up to 3 exclusive in-game items available ONLY through the Twitch Drops program:

We’ll have more details on how to link your Twitch and Spectre Divide accounts very soon. Stay tuned!

1. You can also Request Access via Steam for a chance to join the Closed Beta:
   
   
2. Log into your Steam account and head to the Spectre Divide Steam page
   
   
3. Click Request Access - While you’re there, make sure to ‘Add to your wishlist’
   
   
4. If you’re selected for Closed Beta access, you’ll receive an email letting you know that Spectre Divide has been added to your Steam library
   
   
5. Return to Steam, download Spectre Divide Playtest, and play

Hey all - Lee (@bopnswap) here with a big playtest update for you. We’re running our first major Stress Test, running for 8 hours on Saturday, August 3, so please come and help us break these servers! The Stress Test will take place August 3 from 12 PM PT - 8 PM PT.

A big thank you to everyone for signing up for the Stress Test, and to every player who has been a part of our journey so far.

We've been crafting an experience that intends to flip traditional gameplay on its head—and believe our innovative Duality mechanic genuinely plays in uncharted territory, especially for shooters.

Stress Tests like these are critical to helping us get to where we want to be. The future is bright, and it's been an amazing journey for our small team to get to this point. We're excited for you all to be among the first to experience our unique new take on tactical shooters.

The Spectre Divide Stress Test will be available on Steam for Windows PC players. Prior playtesters will be automatically able to join the Stress Test.

To participate:

1. Add “Spectre Divide” to your Steam wishlist
   
   
2. Click the “Request Access” button on Spectre Divide’s Steam Page
   
   
3. On August 2, if you’ve been granted access, look for the "Spectre Divide Playtest" app in your Steam library
   
   
4. Download and install the “Spectre Divide Playtest” app
   
   
5. Jump into matches starting August 3, between 12 PM PT and 8 PM PT

[h2]How are Playtesters Selected?[/h2]

We’ll be selecting, at random, a large number of playtesters who’ve completed Steam Wishlisting and Requesting Access to Playtest on our Steam page.

Contacting Player Support or asking on our social channels will not get you into the Stress Test.

If you don't get access to this Stress Test, don't give up hope! Our Closed Beta is coming soon in mid-August and we'll be approving another large group of players for that Beta.

[h2]What's Included in the Test?[/h2]

During the Stress Test, you’ll have access to the full Spectre Divide experience. That said, any unlocked content will be limited to this playtest, and will not carry over to the final game.

[h2]What is a Stress Test?[/h2]

A Stress Test simulates the game under extreme conditions by having a large number of players play at once. Ironically, a successful stress test often ends in the servers breaking - which allows our team to identify possible issues before launch.

Heads up: Just remember—what happens in the Stress Test, stays in the Stress Test.

You may experience poor performance or run into unforeseen problems. All your feedback on these issues is incredibly valuable to our team, but please avoid sharing this experience publicly as the Stress Test will not be representative of the final game.

Spectre Divide is our fresh take on the competitive tactical shooter genre, driven by an innovative Duality mechanic that will blow your mind.

Spectre Divide is the free-to-play, competitive 3v3 tactical shooter driven by Duality. Use Duality to control two bodies in real-time, letting you defend two sites at once, cover your own cross, or even trade yourself. Duality is an entirely new vector for mastery, bringing a new dimension to tac shooter fundamentals.

The game is set in the near future city of Breakwater, where the unsanctioned competition of “Santai” is the pinnacle of achievement and status.

• DUALITY: ONE MIND, TWO BODIES - One mind, two bodies. Freely swap between your second body—called a Spectre—at any moment to outplay the enemy team. Duality is at the core of Spectre Divide, threaded through every gameplay detail, including maps, weapons, and utility.
  
  
• CRAFTED FOR 3v3 COMPETITION - Take turns as Attackers and Defenders to plant or defuse the ZEUS device across 2-site maps. Compete solo or with your team in Ranked to prove your skill.
