Steps of Debauchery News

Episode 4.1 is coming in just three days!

Hey everyone!

I won’t say the update is fully ready and we’re just waiting for the deadline - because honestly, we’ll be working non-stop for the next 72 hours, fixing more bugs than we expected. The last few days before release are always the most intense and stressful. But I’ve never delayed an update, and I’m not planning to start now!

So, the new update will be available in just three days!

Some of you have asked how many save files you’ll need to see all possible outcomes. We believe too many branching paths can be overwhelming. Some choices will have a big impact (like cheating or truth decisions with Mike), while others will mainly affect dialogue and character reactions rather than creating entirely different renders. That means your choices from the previous update will shape how characters interact with you, but the overall scenes will remain similar.

Personally, I’m really proud of the new D&D scene. I know not everyone is a fan of this storyline, but the animations and renders are top-notch - you’ll feel like you’re in a real fantasy world!

Back to work now - see you soon!

Episode 4.1 - notes & release date

Hey everyone!

The time has finally come for the post you’ve all been waiting for – the release date of the next update!

I’m here to give you all the details, so you can mark your calendars and maybe even take some time off work. But first, let’s talk about the progress and what you can expect in the upcoming update.

Our artists are still struggling with renders and project work, so things are taking longer than I expected. I’m hopeful that everything will settle soon, and we’ll be able to speed things up. Right now, it’s the opposite—I’m spending my personal time overseeing their work and checking progress. But I see this as a normal adjustment phase, and with each scene, things should get easier.

In the next update, you can look forward to six new main scenes. We had to rearrange some things, so Richard won’t be in this one, but we’ll make up for it in update 4.2. Instead, you’ll meet the missing Wesley and his buddy Jay, Elijah and the nerds, plus the Dean with Madison. And who knows? Maybe a few more characters will show up too!

Besides the six main scenes, there will be two extra scenes—one involving VR and another hidden one. We’re also expanding some smaller storylines, like the bar job, adding new achievements, updating casual dialogues, and changing some few free roam renders.

Now, the info you’ve been waiting for—the release date for Episode 4.1 Steps of Debauchery:

March 23

To make the wait a little easier, here are some renders for you. See you soon!

Oh! And as always, don't forget to leave the review about the game - we have crossed 1,100 reviews and we are in the right direction to 1,200 reviews! Help the project and increase the number!

#Episode 4.1 - Progress Update

Hey everyone on this peaceful Sunday!

I wanted to share some updates on our progress and what’s going on with us. So, as usual, let’s start with a quick overview:

As you can see, the scripts are now fully ready! That means the text part of Episode 4.1 is complete—we know exactly which scenes we’ll add, what content will be included, and all the extra details. We’re also past the halfway mark for the graphics—so far, we’ve created over four major scenes and a few additional elements. We’re slowly adding them to the game and testing everything to make sure it works. Soon, we’ll also start translating the scenes into all available game languages.

Progress is a bit slower than usual, but that’s because we’re working on multiple scenes at once, including some future ones. I won’t spoil anything now, but I promise you’ll love the surprise! On top of that, we’re still in the process of onboarding new artists, which hasn’t been going as smoothly as we hoped. Initially, we had four potential new artists, but one dropped out, and another didn’t meet our quality standards. That leaves us with two, and while we’re still trying to establish a long-term collaboration, we’ve run into quite a few challenges. Instead of speeding things up, it’s actually slowing us down, but I believe that in the long run, this investment will pay off.

Because of these setbacks, I can’t give you a specific release date for Episode 4.1 just yet. Some scenes are being handled by new artists, and I can’t be sure they’ll be finished on time or meet our quality expectations. If we need to redo or adjust them, it’ll take extra time. I value my word more than anything, so I’ll only announce a firm release date closer to March when I have more clarity.

But don’t worry! We’re taking a small step back now so we can jump forward and release content much faster in the future. My goal for 2025 remains the same—I’m aiming to release 12,000 new renders and tons of animations. We’ve already created over 1,500 this year, so once we get back on track, I hope to hit that target by October!

But enough talk—let’s get back to work! Here are a few renders for you to check out.
Oh, and don't forget to leave a review, if you still did not - let's get 1100 reviews till end of the month!

Have a great Sunday folks!

The Tale of a Thousand and One Reviews

Hey everyone!

Today, I just want to say a huge THANK YOU again! We’ve hit another big milestone – 1,000 reviews on Steam! 🎉 On top of that, it’s been exactly one year since our game launched on Steam! None of this would be possible without your support. Thanks to you, we keep growing, hiring new people, and improving our project.

But let’s not stop here! I truly believe we can reach 2,000 reviews this year! Reviews help a lot with the game’s visibility, so if you haven’t left yours yet, now’s the perfect time! I know some people worry that their friends might see it, but hey… the developer’s gratitude is eternal! 😆 And if you buy the game for your sister or mom and leave a review from their account – extra bonus points!

And now seriously, what’s new with us? Things are moving in the right direction! As I mentioned in my last update, we’ve finished working on the scripts. Now we’re focusing on renders and animations – the most time-consuming part, but we’re making progress.

I can’t give you an exact release date for the next update just yet. That’s because I’ve decided to invest in hiring 2-3 new artists. We’re currently testing and training them to match our style and keep the game’s quality high. This means we’re not sure yet when the new scenes for Episode 4.1 will be ready. But in the long run, this will be great – if the new artists fit in, we’ll be able to release updates more often or make them bigger! I’m feeling optimistic that everything will work out. We just need a little more time right now to settle things.

I also want to clarify something from my last message. When I mentioned that we are creating new scenes for our biggest supporters, I meant bonus scenes (not part of the main story) for those who invested more in the project. But don’t worry – these scenes will be available to EVERYONE in the game, just like before (e.g., as VR scenes or TV movies).

One last thing – translations! I know the Polish translation could be much better, so we’re currently looking for a proofreader to help improve it. We also have an Italian translation almost ready, but before releasing it, we want a native proofreader to check its quality. We’re looking for people with experience working with text, not just fluent speakers. If you’re interested, reach out to me and let’s make this project even better!

That’s all for now. Again, thank you for all your support and reviews! If you haven’t left one yet, please take a few seconds to do it – it really helps a lot! See you soon! 😊
