Atonements

This update adds five new Atonments (previously called "circles of hell" / "difficulty circles") and a new run starter layout.

[h3]Additions[/h3]
  • "Difficulty Circles" are now called Atonements
  • Added new Atonements layout, which lets you unlock new Atonements after winning
  • Added five new Atonements for a total of 15
  • Added new layout for starting a run
  • You can now hover over the selected Atonements in the upper left corner to show what you selected
  • Exhume, Draw Card and Discard Card now always only just work once and display no other value
  • Mercenary: Adjusted starter deck (+3 low-cost creatures)
  • Mercenary: Added permanent Curse (Abyss of Avarice)
  • Unknown icons on maps now turn into what they actually are when clicked
  • Lacrima value modifiers are now calculated by the order in which they are slotted into the cards (from left to right), i.e. Double + Deckbound is worse than Deckbound + Double
  • Added tooltip in shop to show that you can only sell 1 card (thanks cyangmou)
  • Added tooltip in shop to show that sold cards return their lacrima to inventory (thanks cyangmou)
  • Added tip to tell you to customize your cards if you haven't already after a few fights (thanks cyangmou)
  • Added tip that you can adjust game speed (thanks cyangmou)
  • Inventory button is now shown when choosing rewards (thanks cyangmou)
  • You can no longer leave the shop with right-clicking (thanks EnchanteurW)
  • Added description for Repeat (thanks Auri)
  • "Captured" now only gets triggered when capture was successful (thanks Qwerty)
  • Added "lacrima to inventory" animation when stealing lacrima or selling cards
  • Added animation when getting a new curse
  • Added description for Bleed to Harvest + Hemorrhage
  • Added info when hand is full when trying to draw a card
[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed issue where if you won with 5 Atonements they wouldn't get mastered (thanks Auri)
  • Fixed issue when trying to capture a charmed ally (thanks Auri)
  • Fixed despair rain not stopping when a run ends or when going back to title
  • Fixed Exhume ignoring hand size limit
  • Fixed lacrima in collection always showing even though they weren't discovered yet
  • Fixed card score not working correctly (thanks Qwerty)
  • Fixed fight not set to done when all enemies were captured or all lacrima were stolen and leaving no lacrima to choose from (thanks Qwerty)
  • Fixed card scaling issue in game end screen when having lots of cards in the deck and switching to "Statistics" tab
  • Fixed disappearing blessing rewards when choosing a blessing reward, opening inventory, and closing inventory
  • Fixed bug when selling a card in a shop while having a full satchel
  • Fixed menu issue when getting new curse outside of a fight (thanks Auri)
  • Fixed bosses triggering "Damage Taken" while having Immunity (thanks Qwerty)
  • Fixed capture not revealing next enemy during player's turn
  • Fixed issue where casting Automaton + Void (or any other offence lacrima) on an empty lane would cause a spell not to work again in the rest of the fight (thanks Auri)
  • Fixed issue where "Magic Hand" would trigger at the start of a fight, but no enemies were revealed on the board yet (thanks Auri)
  • Fixed issue where playing a spell with Offering + Automaton on an ally creature would only play Offering and then stop casting (thanks Auri)

New deck: Mercenary

[h3]Additions:[/h3]
  • New starter deck: Mercenary
  • Updated inventory layout to display 12 cards and all available lacrima slots at all times (thanks Thomas Feichtmeir)
  • Changed Patience+ to Cooldown 2, and Patience to Cooldown 3 (thanks Qwerty)
  • Added backface culling to card elements, so that turning cards looks a bit better
  • Echo value now gets divided by total action lacrima on the card
  • Changed Leraje's target to newest enemy instead of all enemies
  • Minions and exhumed enemies now face up immediately if they get spawned during the player's turn (thanks Qwerty)
  • Added credits button to splash screen
  • Added black rain when Despair is close to 100%
  • New calculation for Best Card at the end of a run, which now also considers total lacrima activations and total inflicted status effects in addition to total kills (thanks Qwerty)
  • Removed Showdown from collection list
  • Renamed "Activate Again" to "Repeat"

[h3]Fixes:[/h3]
  • Performance: Added a card pool so that cards are kept in memory instead of being destroyed
  • Performance: Decorations and Card Slots are now saved in memory instead of being destroyed and re-instantiated
  • Performance: Reduced drawcalls by about 10%
  • Fixed issue where summoning automatons with no free lane would cause lacrima to be taken from inventory, and since the card could not be placed, it would remain in memory forever, causing performance issues the more you summoned, and never returning the lacrima (thanks Qwerty)
  • Fixed bug when showing best card (thanks Qwerty)
  • Fixed text spacing when a spell has 5 lacrima and includes a trigger
  • Fixed issue where sometimes right-clicks were ignored by updating Rewired
  • Fixed endscreen layering issue for map nodes (thanks Qwerty)

Run History

Apart from adding a run history, this update also changes the layout of generic creature and spell cards.

[h3]Additions:[/h3]
  • Added "Runs" (run history) to Collection
  • Generic creatures and spells now have basic art and small decorations
  • Cards now have a "calmer" background behind the text similar to the original backgrounds (thanks Alexis)
  • Removed difficulty circle "Unlimited curses" and replaced it with "Shop only offers 4 cards"
  • Difficulty circle selection now increases curse limit for each selected circle
  • Clear Buff works on Resist again
  • Added "Immune" buff to bosses (replaces previously applied Resist buff)
  • Minions now spawn face down (thanks Qwerty)
  • Improved card selection when having more than 6 cards in hand
  • Made sure that random buffs on enemies are "more" randomly distributed (thanks Qwerty)
  • Made sure the very first run doesn't start with fights where you only draw spells
  • Changed Sloth curse to target newest enemy instead of always targeting all enemies (thanks Qwerty)
  • Renamed "Water Cannon" to "Flood"
  • Renamed "Thunder Strike" to "Lightning"
  • Renamed "Creature Exhumed" to "Exhumation"
  • Changed text "Do nothing" to "No action" when a card has a trigger but nothing else
  • Changed cooldown explanation to explain that it gets reduced by 1 after each fight round
  • Bite can no longer be resisted. Originally this was called "Steal HP" and the buff Resist prevents "being stolen from", but now that it's called Bite, it no longer makes sense (thanks Qwerty)

  • Fixed issue when you hovered over a card while another card was being removed from the board, clicking activated a different card (thanks Auri)
  • Fixed "Enemy Sleep" triggering even if sleep is resisted (thanks Qwerty)
  • Fixed "Bitten" trigger appearing in shops for decks other than Bloodsucker
  • Fixed boss not spawning in center with circle active that adds 1 enemy to each fight (thanks Qwerty)
  • Fixed difficulty circles being reapplied from previous run after resetting progress (thanks Qwerty)
  • Fixed "return to title" not working on end game screen (thanks Qwerty)

New starter deck: Invoker

This update adds a new starter deck that focuses on casting spells. Also included are five new difficulty modifiers.

[h3]Features:[/h3]
  • Added new starter deck: Invoker
  • Added 5 additional difficulty modifiers
  • Made it possible to click on an empty lane with a Spell if it has Draw Card, Exhume, summoning lacrima, etc.
  • Set starting gold to 50 (instead of 0)
  • Starting a new run now shows whether a difficulty circle has been won or mastered
  • Renamed Permadeath to Showdown: Upon death, this creature will be removed from the game.
  • Added new lacrima Permadeath: Creatures killed by physical damage of this creature are permanently dead and get removed from the game.
  • Nerfed Amdusias++, Time Eater++, and Clumsy++ (thanks Qwerty)
  • Added deck name to end game statistics (thanks Qwerty)
  • Bosses now start with Stoneskin based on 50% of their max HP (thanks Qwerty)
  • Additional preparation for having run history in a future update

  • Fixed bug in intro cutscene where it showed the new deck background, and sometimes it showed the map before fading out
  • Fixed issue where Minion could generate cards with more than 5 slots (thanks Qwerty)
  • Fixed issue where summoned lesser demons have 6 attack after being exhumed (thanks Qwerty)
  • Fixed issue where checking out bosses in collection and then trying to start a run would result in an empty screen (thanks Qwerty and Auri)

Bug Fixes

This update focuses on bug fixes before adding more content.

  • Bite and the trigger Bitten now only appear when playing the Bloodsucker deck
  • Added active map node indicator
  • Added an error message when you press Redraw but you don't have enough gold (thanks Qwerty)
  • Added proper explanation for cooldown (thanks Qwerty)
  • Allow checking blessings/curses/map/inventory during fight/treasure rewards (thanks DoniaCometa)
  • You can now click on your deck in the lower left corner to open your inventory (not during fights)
  • You can now quit and continue the game while viewing fight/treasure rewards
  • Fixed rendering issue on start screen when playing the game in a browser on a mobile phone
  • Fixed F8 feedback form not submitting anymore
  • Fixed bug where RandomBuff cast by an enemy card would give the same status effect within a turn (thanks Qwerty)
  • Fixed problem in options menu where you were able to open several option submenus if you clicked fast enough (thanks DoniaCometa)
  • Fixed a bug where flipping pages in inventory could cause slots to affect multiple cards (thanks DoniaCometa)
  • Fixed issue while dragging lacrima in inventory and turning pages at the same time (thanks DoniaCometa)
  • Fixed an issue where replacing a creature on a lane would kill the existing creature (i.e. due to a curse) and then the new creature would not be placed on the lane (thanks Qwerty)
