HUGE Update!

Hi all,

2 weeks ago we published the first demo of Rogue Realms. Well, today we bring a HUGE update, and I'm going to explain all the details of what includes. If you haven't wishlisted the game and downloaded the demo, you can do it now from the Steam page.

1. Update Content


Procedurally Generated Maps 
Every time you play the game now you'll have a different experience. The map will be different, and the tower placements as well. Feel free to explore them and reload the game as you wish.


New enemies: 
  • Longbowman: Shoots arrows to our hero from far away. Very resistant
  • Huntress: Shoots arrows at our hero from mid distance. High attack but squishy.
  • Sorceress:Shoots fireballs at our hero from mid distance. High attack but squishy.
  • Druid: Heals the closest enemy missing HP (including herself).
  • Assassin: If they see our hero they will chase them and attack them. Deadly attack and auto-heal themselves.


Quality Of Live & Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where some players observed the level 2 and level 3 options when upgrading towers.
  • Allowed bigger range of Zoom
  • Added a survey at game end to listen to your feedback! :)


2. What is Next


I think this update marks a big milestone for the game. I'm going to take 2 weeks of vacation, and after that will be working on the next update, containing: 
  • Tutorial 
  • Correct bugs or make QoL enhancements based on your feedback Thanks!

DEMO IS OUT!

Hi all,

2 weeks ago we published the first demo of Rogue Realms. Some of you might have downloaded it and played it already. If you are one of those, thanks for that! If you are not, you can do it now from the Steam page.

I'll create an in-game tutorial later on, but in the meantime, today I'm going to write a short tutorial of how to play. We'll also discuss next steps and what to expect from this game.

1. How to Play the game

Defend the castle from 10 waves of enemies in increasing difficulty that will spawn periodically. Build powerful towers and attack with your Hero to stop the enemies. Defeat the final boss and achieve the best score possible.

Instructions: 
  1. Right click to move to a Position
  2. Right click an enemy to attack it.
  3. Press W or click the Weapon button to select your weapon to use and change it during gameplay.
  4. Left click into a X tile to build a tower. Choose what tower to build and how to upgrade it. 
  5. Be close to the monsters when they are defeated to get hero exp. Level up to increase hero' stats. 
  6. When level up or when a wave finishes you get to choose a trait to upgrade.
  7. The camera moves with your mouse, and comes back to the Hero view when holding Space. You can scroll up or down to zoom in / out


2. What is Next

Soon we'll upload a HUGE update to the free Demo with:
  • 5 new enemies
  • Randomly generated


Other priorities afterwards (subject to change):
  • Tutorial (in-game)
  • Full Run, where you will find different stages, and get increasing levels and difficulties
  • Replace some placeholders with final art
  • Massive polish: UI, gameplay, SFX and more.
  • Many others...
