πŸ”§ Idle Life - Small Patch Update

πŸ”§ Idle Life - Small Patch Update
[p]
A small patch just went live improving the item system and interaction logic.

[/p]
βš™οΈ Equip System Fix
[p]
β€’ Fixed an issue with the item equip system.

[/p]
⛏ Reworked Item Interaction
[p]
β€’ Reworked all mining, crafting and smelting timers.
β€’ Equipped tools now reduce time by a percentage instead of a fixed value.
β€’ This allows better scaling for stronger tools later in the game.

[/p]
🧠 Automatic Tool Selection
[p]
The game now automatically selects the best equipped tool.

Example:
If you equip both a Wood Pickaxe and a Stone Pickaxe, the system will automatically use the Stone Pickaxe because it reduces more time.

[/p]
πŸ›  Tool Categories
[p]
Cooldown reductions are now separated into categories:

β€’ Axe
β€’ Pickaxe
β€’ Shovel
β€’ Hammer
β€’ Burn Time *(temporary name)*

Axe, Pickaxe, Shovel β†’ for Mining, Digging, Cutting Trees
Hammer β†’ reducing some crafting times
Burn Time β†’ reduces furnace smelting time (no Item in the game yet)

More improvements coming soon.[/p]

β€’ This is now properly disabled

[/p]
πŸ‘· Worker Fix
[p]

πŸ”₯ Idle Life - B1.0 Official Release

πŸ”₯ Idle Life - B1.0 Official Release
[p]
⚠ IMPORTANT: This is the official B1.0 foundation release.
The game is still in Early Access and bugs may occur.

Some systems and UI elements are placeholders or temporarily positioned.
These will be improved and refined over time.

[/p]
🌳 Progression System
[p]
The Progress Tree has been completely rebuilt.

Originally planned as multiple smaller trees, it is now back to one large, fully flexible progression tree.

β€’ Locked items permanently show their required resources
β€’ Hovering with the magnifying lens enlarges and highlights connections
β€’ Color-coded paths (side / normal / important progression)
β€’ Fully moveable canvas in all directions
β€’ No structural limits on tree size

Current total:
β€’ 20 Items
β€’ 23 Progress Points
– 20 Items
– 2 Workers
– 1 Equip Slot

[/p]
πŸ›  Equip System
[p]
Players can now equip tools.

β€’ Default equip slots: 1
β€’ Can be increased via progression
β€’ Tools include pickaxes, axes, shovels and more

Equipped tools significantly reduce working time.

Example:
2 Stones normally take 60 seconds.
With a Wood Pickaxe, it drops to 20 seconds.

[/p]
πŸ‘· Workers
[p]
Workers are back β€” redesigned.

Old Idle Life:
Workers handled everything automatically.

New Idle Life:
You must actively play while workers support you.

β€’ Unlock workers through the Progress Tree
β€’ Assign workers to workplaces
β€’ Workers automatically and efficiently farm assigned items

[/p]
πŸ”₯ Furnace – New Crafting Method
[p]
A new production method has been introduced.

You can now:
β€’ Smelt materials
β€’ Cook resources

New mechanic:
Burn Points are required for furnace actions.

[/p]
πŸ–₯ Screen Mode Adjustment
[p]
Fullscreen has been removed.

To ensure better stability, the game now supports:

β€’ Windowed
β€’ Windowed Fullscreen

[/p]
⚠ Save Compatibility Notice
[p]
Due to the massive structural changes:

Old saves are NOT compatible.

The old version of Idle Life is now available in the Steam Beta branch:

IdleLife0.0

If you want to continue your old save, switch to that branch.

[/p]
🚧 Early Access
[p]
This is the mechanical foundation of Idle Life.
More content, achievements and deeper progression are coming next.

Thank you for shaping Idle Life.
More progress soon.[/p]

🌱 Idle Life – A Fresh Start (Dev-Log 2)

πŸ›  Idle Life – Major Progress Update
Important:
This is NOT a downloadable update.
This post only shows current development progress.

πŸ’Ύ Autosave System
[p]There is now an autosave button in the top right. After some time the button changes color to indicate a save is coming soon. Press the button to reset the timer and save the game. If you don’t press it, an autosave will trigger automatically after 5 minutes.

β€’ Autosave button added (top right)
β€’ Button changes color when a save is about to trigger
β€’ Clicking the button resets the timer and saves instantly
β€’ Automatic save triggers after 5 minutes

[/p]
πŸ”¨ Crafting System
[p]Mining and processing resources was a core part of old Idle Life - and that identity stays. The first version of the crafting system is now implemented. It’s still early, but the base foundation is in place. [/p][p][/p]
πŸ” Filters & Search
[p]Item organization is getting improved.

β€’ Category filters implemented (Nature, Crafting, Weapons, etc. planned)
β€’ Item search function introduced
β€’ Text filtering backend already exists
β€’ Input system connected and working

This will be expanded further.

[/p]
🎞 Animations
[p]Started implementing the first versions of animations for Autosave, Filters and Notifications. This is the base version I’ll continue building on.

[/p]
πŸͺ Shop System
[p]The first version of the shop system has been implemented. After that, I focused on restructuring and improving the entire store setup.

β€’ Cleaner structure
β€’ More expandable system
β€’ Better long-term scalability

Still early, but the foundation is solid now.

[/p]
🌳 Progression System
[p]The progression system is now almost mechanically finished (dev side). Instead of one massive progression tree, Idle Life now uses multiple smaller progression trees.

β€’ Much clearer
β€’ Easier to understand
β€’ Better structured
β€’ More freedom in progression paths

[/p]
πŸ”Ž Progression Tree Improvements
[p]All locked items now permanently display their required items underneath. This makes it much easier to see what you still need and how much is missing. Hovering a locked item with the magnifying glass enlarges and highlights its connections for better visibility. Unlocked items no longer display requirement icons.

Black icons = locked
Colored icons = unlocked

[/p]
πŸ‘· Workers (Reworked)
[p]Workers are coming back β€” but improved. In the old version, workers did everything for you. Now, you must actively play while workers support you.

β€’ Unlock workers through the progression tree
β€’ Possibly purchase additional workers later in the shop
β€’ Assign workers to a workplace

Workers will automatically start and efficiently farm the assigned item.

[/p]
βš™ Performance Improvements
[p]Fixed performance-related issues that were causing unnecessary load.

[/p]
🐞 Bug Fix – Notifications
[p]Fixed an issue where spamming a notification could flood the queue.

β€’ Notifications can now be dismissed with a click
β€’ The system checks if the same notification is already in the queue
β€’ Duplicate notifications will no longer be added

More progress soon.
The rebuild continues.[/p]
