0.5.3 Patch Out Now!

[h2]Hello Everyone![/h2][p][/p][p]We're updating the Legend of Khiimori with a new patch, which will fix the issues with both selling and buying horses from the Horse Merchant, fix the issue with Bridge projects not completing and also fix the issue where players are unable to craft Nomad Kits! There are a bunch of other changes, which you'll be able to find in detail below!

But we're not done! We're going to keep working on fixing the issues we've seen in the launch version of The Legend of Khiimori and then we'll be pushing into the unknown lands of Early Access, adding more features to the game and polishing what does exist!

We also want to thank each and every one of you who has played, reviewed the game, passed us feedback or bug reports, or even ranted to their cat about us! The launch has been amazing so far, and despite a few stumbles, we're only excited to see what's on the horizon![/p][p][/p][h3]🪲 Patch Notes:[/h3]
  • [p]Bugfixes:[/p]
    • [p]Fixed several crashes, including a Crash during the Foal Reveal[/p]
    • [p]Bridge Projects will now be correctly built[/p]
    • [p]Bridge Projects will now stay built when leaving the game and loading back in[/p]
    • [p]Fixed Performance Issues in haunted Areas[/p]
    • [p]Nomad Camping Kits can now be crafted[/p]
    • [p]Steles will no longer disappear if players pick them up while having a full Inventory[/p]
    • [p]Horses will now correctly appear in your stable after buying them from a Horse Merchant[/p]
    • [p]Horse Merchant will no longer offer horses which vanish on purchase[/p]
  • [p]Balancing:[/p]
    • [p]Increased Stable capacity from 10 to 20[/p]

Dear Yam Riders!

The Legend of Khiimori has been released in Early Access for three days now. You can't imagine how happy and grateful the entire team is about your positive and constructive feedback. We've been working on this project for over two and a half years now, and your supportive reviews and comments mean a lot to us and, above all, motivate us to go further and further.

We want you to know that we are constantly listening to the community and working hard to fix the bugs as quickly as possible. Thank you so much for your commitment to sending us all reports. This helps us to resolve the issues more quickly!

We have already delivered a patch and a hotfix this week! And we should have another one be live soon!

We are currently working on:
  • Horse Merchant fix
    Increasing stable size to 20
    Fixing bridge improvements not completing
    Implementing a fix to performance issues around Corrupted Zones
    Crafting recipe for Nomad Kit to properly unlocked
    and more!

This Early Access release was a huge milestone for us, but at the same time, it's just the beginning of a great journey together with you. We have a lot of features and content planned for the full release, including the story, of course.

The Legend of Khiimori Patch 0.5.1

Firstly, we want to say thank you so much to everyone and for the feedback we've received so far!

Our QA department has been hard at work, and along with our developers, they've managed to identify and fix a load of the issues some of you have encountered. This is just the first patch, we'll be continuing to work on things in the next days and weeks!

A special thanks to all of you who left a review on steam, it helps us a lot so our game reaches even more people!

Without further ado, here's the notes:

Gameplay and World
  • Added a new trait for Roza (Cold Lover).
  • Hunger and thirst now reduce mood, and the “Scared” state clears after 3 minutes without danger.


Fixed Ovoo behavior:
  • Ovoos now reactivate correctly after loading.
  • Weather effects no longer trigger immediately on discovery.
  • Added more spirit torches in Ovoo weather regions to improve navigation in bad visibility.
  • Reduced the spawn density of certain world items.
  • Fixed wood sometimes spawning incorrectly in piles.
  • Added/adjusted various map marker and world marker placements (including bridge project markers).


Missions and Progression
  • Cartography missions now use search-area markers.
  • Fixed a mountain-top mission marker so it is now properly linked to a mission trigger.
  • Improved the Mission Complete notification, now showing additional details like Prestige, rank upgrades, and relevant item/state info.
  • Increased Cartographer missions to 3 per day.
  • Fixed an issue where some points of interest did not show completion notifications.


Horses
  • Fixed issues with horse merchant offers, including several faulty setups.
  • Lootable chests in ruins now also check for saddlebags when adding items.

    Adjusted Player Horse AI:
  • Your horse should stay closer and not wander too far.
  • The horse will move away when you start a conversation.
  • Fixed issues related to horses getting stuck in water states:
  • Fixed horses being stuck in swimming stress.
  • Fixed jumping remaining disabled after swimming.
  • Fixed cases where horses could incorrectly start walking after mounting.
  • Fixed avoidance issues that caused unwanted movement input.


Controls and Input

  • Improved gamepad control curves (movement and turning) for smoother handling.
  • Added better tuning for speed control in tight turns, including allowing slower movement with backwards input.
  • Improved haptic feedback during canter, gallop, slides, and jumping.
  • Rebalanced tumble slowdown.
  • Improved the feel of the virtual cursor and fixed cases where it moved too fast or caused UI issues.
  • Fixed controller focus issues in menus (including save/load slot selection).


UI and Quality of Life

  • Added missing resource icons and integrated new map marker icons.
  • Fixed the horse stable UI to show cleaner whole-number stats instead of decimals.
  • Added clearer feedback when an action can’t be performed.


Merchant UI improvements:
  • Item effects are now shown in the merchant offer view.
  • Added buy/sell feedback and fixed missing “out of stock” messaging.
  • Sorted mission location dropdowns in cheats.
  • Fixed the “Open Inventory” prompt appearing too small.

Audio

  • Added a new thorn bush hit sound.
  • Added missing UI and interaction sounds (including inventory item move sounds).
  • Implemented conversation volume ducking so dialogue is clearer.
  • Adjusted overall sound mix and balance, including wind, music, and UI sounds.
  • Added route-planning sounds.


Visuals and Animation

  • Improved player locomotion and reduced sliding issues.
  • Improved conversation animations and blending; disabled special idles during conversation where appropriate.
  • Fixed weather reactions affecting conversations (on foot and on horse).
  • Added/updated animations for interacting with turtle stones (placing/removing stele).
  • Polished stumble visuals and added additional feedback (visual + audio).
  • Fixed various NPC skinning issues (including merchants) and dialogue facial lag.


Fixed cutscene issues:
  • Removed intro title correctly when skipping.
  • Improved letterbox scaling in the intro (potential fix).
  • Fixed a camera loop issue in the foal reveal cutscene.
  • Performance and Stability
  • Added a new PSO cache for improved performance and reduced hitching.
  • Improved draw-thread performance with additional occlusion optimizations.
  • Reduced unnecessary ticking for map actors when not in use.


Fixed multiple crashes, including:
  • Crash when opening merchant UI while leaving the open world.
  • Crash when dismounting inside certain POI collision areas.
  • Crash when changing texture settings.
  • Divide-by-zero crash in crafting when a requirement amount was 0.
  • Disabled tessellation on AMD GPUs to prevent visual artifacts.


Environment and Navigation
  • Closed off parts of the Early Access South/East border area and adjusted navigation in several regions.
  • Improved desert entrance layouts and added alternative paths where needed.
  • Fixed blurry distant terrain/object visuals in several areas (HLODs), including rivers.
