Map Map - A Game About Maps News

Hello everyone, 👋

here is what we have been working on the last few weeks:


[h2]🎮Gameplay[/h2]

• designed levels for new islands
  
• testing the different islands
  

[h2]🎨Art[/h2]

• finished the swamp biome
  
• created 3D assets for a chest and a shovel (now we have to get the character to dig :D)
  
• polished the bonfire with visual effects 🔥
  
• reworked the UI
  

[h2]🖥️Programming[/h2]

• further development of the save system: adding auto save and load
  
• implemented new measurement tools
  

[h2]📝Other[/h2]

• signed the lease for our very first office 😲
  

Last but not least, probably the biggest task: preparing for gamescom 🥳
If you haven't heard yet, we'll be at gamescom next week (21/08 - 25/08). At the Indie Arena booth you'll not only find us, but also the very first demo of Map Map! 🤩 So come by, grab stickers and map some islands!

Hello everyone,

and welcome to our very first Monthly Dev Log! So exciting

In order to keep you up to date, we thought that something like a monthly "newsletter" would be great.
So once a month we want to tell you what we've been working on in the last few weeks. If there's anything in particular you're interested in, let us know.
So here is what we worked on the last couple of weeks:

• started with ideas and first sketches for a second biome
  
• created the concept art for a chest and a shovel
  
• designed and implemented seagulls
  

[h2]Audio[/h2]

• recorded new footprint sounds (which are actually live sounds from our workation in Denmark)
  

[h2]Programming[/h2]

• Setup of a first save system
  

[h2]Other[/h2]

• We launched our official Discord community server (if you haven't joined our lovely community yet, head over there)
